- Okay, first off, to everyone, that's not a butterfly. It's a Luna moth, and they're fairly rare in most places, but for whatever reason, in New England, they're very common. If you're serious about photography, use a softer flash (or none at all, and affix your own lighting, if possible), and maybe try to consider the angle you're looking at.
