RING! RING! RING! Lakia was woken up by the phone while sleeping. "What time is it?" Lakia looked at the clock trying to make the blurry numbers clear. "Its 3:00am. Why would someone call me at 3:00? No one knows my number. Who is calling?" Lakia got out of bed and made her way to the phone. "Hello?" Lakia said. No responce came from the phone. "HELLO." said Lakia, more firm now. Still, no responce. Someone was on the other end of the phone, but wasn't saying anything. Lakia became silent, she listened for any sound at all. She heard someone mumbleing something. Lakia reconized the mumbleing and slamed the phone onto the reciver instantly. "They know I'm alive, they know my phone number." Lakia knew that whoever was on the other side of that phone knew about Lakia, knew that she was a vampire. She wanted to forget about it. She stumbled back into bed and slipped into the darkness of her sleep once again.
Lakia woke up. It was 6:00am now. She had time to get ready for school. She opened the window and let the cold breeze of winter in. It was still dark outside. There was snow on the ground. Lakia got ready for school, put on a jaket, and ate her breakfast. When it came to be 6:30, she stepped out into the snow and prepared for the long walk to her school. There was no one else on the road, it was still dark. Only a little sun started to show. "Figures. Everyone else takes the bus on cold days like this. People who normally walk take the taxi or ask someone else to drive them." When Lakia got to the school, it was 6:45. She waited. A few minutes later someone else had come, and was waiting. "Hello, I didn't think anyone else walked to school." said the student. "Me nethier." said Lakia. "People are talking to me now? Do they all WANT to die?" thought Lakia. "My name is Jeremy. What's yours?" asked Jeremy. "Lakia." "Lakia? Thats a nice name. I never heard it before." said Jeremy. "Most girls I know have names that are too normal. Like I have heard them millions of times." said Jeremy. "I guess this boy dosen't care. Just like Elli. He wants to be my friend too I guess." thought Lakia. Lakia heard footsteps in the snow, she looked down the road and saw Elli running to the school for warmth, too bad the doors are still locked. Elli ran up to the school doors and tried to go into the school, the doors wouldn't open. "Oh, don't tell me the doors haven't been unlocked yet." Elli said talking to herself. "Hey Elli." said Lakia. "What?! Oh, hi Lakia! When did you get here?" said Elli. "I was the first one here." said Lakia. "Wow. How did you stand the cold for so long?" asked Elli. "I try not to think about the cold." said Lakia. Elli noticed Jeremy sitting on the other bench. "Oh. Who's this? A friend of yours Lakia?" asked Elli. "Yeah. This is Jeremy." said Lakia. "Hello." said Jeremy. After a few more minutes of talking and waiting, the doors were unlocked, and the three of them rushed in to the warmth of the school. "Ahh.... I almost forgot what warmth was!" said Elli. The three went to their classes.
After school Lakia went outside and saw Jeremy and Elli waiting. "Hey Lakia!" said Elli. "Hi. Why are you two waiting here? Its cold." said Lakia. "We were waiting for you. Come on. Lets go home before we freeze!" said Elli. "Ok." said Lakia. The three walked home. Jeremy's home was the closest so they went to his house first. "Bye Jeremy." said Lakia and Elli. "Bye guys." said Jermey before rushing into his house. "Lakia. Wanna' go somewhere? It would be fun!" said Elli. "I got it! Christmas break starts tommarow! Why don't we meet up at the park! We can invite Jeremy along too!" said Elli, getting more exited with each word. "Ok." said Lakia. "Hey, Lakia. Where do you live?" asked Elli. "This house." Lakia said, pointing to her house. "Wow. Its old. I guess your parents like those kind of old houses." said Elli. "Yeah.... they like old stuff.... see you tommarow...." said Lakia. "Ok! Bye Lakia!" said Elli. Lakia walked into her home. Lakia ate dinner, did her homework so she wouldn't have to worry about it over Christmas break, got ready for bed, and went to sleep.
