"How much longer until they give us the go?" Jensen complained. Yet again.
I scowled at him, throwing a pear at him. "In a while. You have to remember, they have to get the position right, or its fail."
"Right, right...."
It had taken Jensen two years to actually start talking to me. Now he just needed to stop giving me those 'oh my gawd, how the hell did I end up working with a demon' looks. The roof we sat on overlooked Enty street. Banks and department stores lined the rich person's 'territory'. Blue and red covered the streets, moving like fire and water. Blech. Business suits.
A large buzz from the radio next to me alerted me. I quickly picked it up, pressing the talk button. "Kye here."
"Kye, you ready?"
I smiled. "I've got enough firepower to ensure a nice steady mission."
"Good. You have twenty minutes."
"Roger."
I stood, knocking Jensen with my foot. He flinched. "C'mon. It's time."
"Yeah, yeah."
We descended from the roof, a backpack on both of our backs. I quickly put the earpiece in my ear, covering with my hair. We stopped in front of a bank. It was made of polished, gray granite. Words over the door spelled its name. Hewer Bank. I looked at Jensen. "Ready?"
He nodded.
We entered.
There were a lot of people in there. Crud. But, luckily, it seemed security was lacking.
We walked up to a teller. A female, her brunette hair tied up into a bun to the back of her head. She looked up, smiling at Jensen. Her smile went to a cold scowl when she lay her eyes on me. What could I expect? I wasn't exactly a 'normal' person.
"Good morning. How may I help you?" She said, turning back to Jensen, smiling.
"Yes, we'd like to make an account."
"Alright, then."
She took out a load of paper work. Jensen whistled as she handed him a pen. He looked to me and I stood. "Where's the water?"
"To your right." She said without looking at me.
I frowned and walked off. "Could be nicer...." I mumbled.
As I walked to the water, I took quick furtive looks around me, counting how many cameras I saw and where they were. I grabbed a cup and drank. My right eye, my demon eye, stayed open as I drank. I felt the electric force in the air and manipulated it, short circuiting each camera. It didn't take much electricity. Security cameras were always cheap.
I threw the cup away and returned, leaning down next to Jensen's ear. "It's time."
He nodded and looked at the lady.
"Excuse me, I need to grab something." He took his backpack off and put it down in front of him, out of her sight. He opened it, quickly taking out a gun and putting it together silently.
"I can't seem to find it. You check yours." He looked to me. I nodded and sat next to him, doing the same.
When I was done I looked at him and nodded. He quickly took out his gun and pointed it at her. Her scream alerted all around her. I quickly stood with mine, throwing my backpack on my back and stopping thirty feet from the doors. I stuck my hand out and the shut, not budging. A quick gunfire got everyone on the ground, including the unarmed guard. Honestly, what was wrong with these banks?
I walked back to Jensen and he got up on a counter. I went behind it, getting everyone out in the middle so no one could reach the security buttons.
"Alright, everyone, we don't want any trouble. Just need to collect our reward." He nodded to me and I went to the back, to the vault.
I frowned when I got back there. It was high tech. No wonder they didn't have good security. Then again, that's why I was here.
I sighed and kneeled down. I looked at my demonic arm, the black claws sucking up all light around them. I thrust them into the vault. The metal was hard, but my claws still cut through it. I pushed even harder until my hand was in there was well. I felt around for the lock wires. When I found them I quickly cut them.
"Vault Open"
The electronic voice said. I was just about to take my arm out when the door swung open, pushing me into the wall.
I groaned and got out from behind the vault door. I went in, looking around at all the gold and money. I opened my backpack and took out four mini blocks and threw them up in the air. The quickly changed, becoming flying bags with arms.
"Take everything."
They bags went up and down, as a nod.
I turned and exited the vault, returning to the main area. Some of the people looked at me, whispering. They probably though they could take me out. Why not? I had a petite frame, and had no muscle.
Jensen cleared his throat. "Now, no one try to attack us. We don't want any trouble, and anyone ending up--"
A battle cry rang out. A big, burly man stood, running at me. I frowned, pointing a pistol at him without hesitation and shooting.
Jensen looked at the man as he fell. "--like that."
After eight minutes, Jensen sighed. "How much longer until we got as much as we can hold?"
I shrugged. "Dunno."
He sat on the desk. "Boooring...~" He leaned back, and a loud ring rang out.
I covered my ears, glaring at him. "You idiot!! You just alerted the police!!"
"Sorry!"
The three mini robo bags came out, two only half full.
I pressed on my earpiece. "Natalie, change of plans. get us now!!"
"Got it."
I took a piece of paper and a large sharpie, taking the cap of with my teeth. I quickly wrote 'LOSER' on the paper. Taking some tape, I stuck it to the burly man's head, who was still bleeding on the ground.
The sirens made me jump. "Crap, they are quick..."
Jensen quickly stood, running to the doors. "Open 'em!"
I nodded and stuck out my hand, a blast of air bringing them open.
We ran out, and were quickly surrounded by police.
The quickly got out of the cars and pointed guns at us. "Put your hands up!"
Jensen and I did just that. "This is your fault..."
He smiled. "Yeah, but we aren't caught yet."
I looked at him. It was then I heard the loud engine of the 'rig'. It plowed into four police cars as if they were nothing. The door on our side opened. "Get in!"
I grabbed the three robo bags and hopped in, Jensen not far behind.
"That was too close, Natalie."
Grey walked up from behind me, putting his arm around my shoulders. "We still got you out of there, sonny, remember that."
I nodded.
The rig began moving, and we were out.
