1. TRANSFORM
I only remember two things from being a human. The first was the night I changed. It was dark, and I was lost amidst the streets of London. Then suddenly in a flash of white and red, searing pain enveloping my body, I had become one of them. A bloodsucker, cold skinned, pale-faced murderer. I was a vampire. The other memory was of my sister. Her name was Lucy, and she was two years old. Red, curly hair, big brown eyes, and round chubby face and the dimples that appeared when she smiled was what made up my bumbling, smiling sister.
She used to call me “beffy” or “sisther”, instead of Elizabeth, which was too complicated for her small tongue to pronounce. She had just turned two years old when I turned into a vampire. After I had changed, I murdered 12 innocent women, men and children in my frenzy for blood. Then they found me. I was sleeping in the snow, despite the fact it was 13 degrees Fahrenheit. I wasn’t cold. My face was drenched in blood from my latest victim.
They not only saved me, but the people of London from my thirst. Bree, Rose, Leonard, and James were their names. They were like me, but more advanced at resisting human blood. I like to call them veterans on the subject of being a vampire. I know I’ve made it sound like being a vampire sound like an awful thing, but it has its perks, too. You become insanely beautiful, very strong and fast, graceful, you have no need for oxygen, and sometimes you get special abilities. And you’re immortal and have the gift of eternal youth. I’m going to be 14 forever. Our eyes change from black to golden, depending on our mood. There is only one person in our coven with special abilities. Bree has the ability to control inanimate objects with her mind.
But when you’re a vampire, you are lonely; no matter how many people you live with and spend your time with.
2. OUTSIDER
“Elizabeth! Heads up!”
I whipped my head up to look at the ceiling of the cafeteria. Shooting strait at me was a shiny, red apple. I ducked my head between my arms. With a thunk the apple, now bruised, landed at my feet. It was my first day of 8th grade, and so far, this was how it’d been. Food throwing, name calling, and tripping in the halls.
The kids were mean. Luckily, when one threw the apple, James had been smart enough to warn me. I told my coven about my plan to avenge them and drink their blood in the dead of night, but Leo tells me that will only make it worse. Rose, James and Leo were in 11th grade, but the middle school and high school had the same building, so we could all eat lunch together. The thing was none of the kids knew we were vampires. They were repelled from us, so far not one kid had talked to me. Bree was in the same grade as me, thank god. I have a feeling it’s going to be a long year.

3. ATTACK
The school year is over. Every year we move and start a new life, thanks to immortality. We have just moved to Chicago. We have found a decent house. We have no adults looking after us, just us kids. Rose has found a job, at a restaurant (which is silly, considering we don’t eat food). We all hope that will pay well enough for the house bill. I now realize how much I miss my old life. My sister, my parents that I can’t remember. I must have had friends, too. Only a year has passed since my changing. Lucy must be three years old. I long to see her, but my new family says no. they think it might be dangerous for them. I might bite.
“Go Fish” Leonard had a look of hard concentration on his face. Bree drew a card from the deck.
“…do you have any…3s?” Bree had the same look on her face. James and I stood of to the side of the game, suppressing smiles. Everyone in the house loved to play cards, but Bree and Leo were the serious gamers. Rose was out at her job, so it was just the four of us.
A knock on the door startled us. Leo flew gracefully to the door, and pulled open just wide enough so that only he was visible to our visitor
“Um…hello.” The voice sounded female, and young, maybe 10 or 11. She was obviously astounded by Leo’s cold beauty.
“May I help you?” Leo’s lips were the only sign of movement on his hard body.
“Would-would you like to buy some cookies?”
She was a girl scout then. Just then I realized how long it’d been since I’ve tasted blood. And the fact that she smelled good. Bree and James seemed to realize it at the same time. Their bodies suddenly went rigid; they’re usually golden eyes now black. I wondered if that was the way I looked right now.
“No thank you.” Leo replied icily. Suddenly he went rigid like the rest of us. “…Actually, would you like to come inside?” he grinned at her with perfect, white teeth. The girl, clearly dazzled, stepped inside.
“This is my family, Bree, Elizabeth, and James.”
“You don’t have parents?”
“They’re…they’re at work. Why don’t you sit down?”
Leo sat down beside her. Swiftly, suddenly, his lips were inches away from her neck. “Goodbye, sweet heart.” He laughed and lunged forward.
4. TRAVEL
I licked my lips, satisfied. I hate to admit this, but she was quite delicious. Leo and James were now out, disposing of her body.
“Ha. Rose will be quite livid that she wasn’t here to taste the blood.” Bree flipped her long reddish-brown hair over her shoulders, licking her lips that were in the form of a perfect smirk. “In fact, she should be here soon.”
“Goodness.” I smiled as the door slammed open and Leo and James strutted on. “Look what the dog brought in.”
“Ha-ha. Very funny.” Leo scowled
