• Chapter 8: The palace looms and the death of the azure forest

Kin placed his hands behind his head as he looked up at the sky and watched a small puffy cloud as it gently floated by, “I’ve never seen the azure forest before” he thought to himself “I wonder if its as beautiful as they say it is.” He then turned his gaze toward the trees, he noticed something wasn’t right. As they headed further down the path he realized that with each step they took the trees seemed less and less full and some had even gone bear. The air also seemed thinner and it felt as though the temperature had dropped about ten degrees, “what’s going on here?” kin wondered “are we going into a dead zone?” kin kept his gaze at the trees for sometime and he noticed that some of the trees had begun to hutch over like an old man on his cane, and that some had become gnarled like arthritic hands for ever stuck in a gesture of sever and never ending pain.
Kin could feel tears burning in his eyes; he could feel the pain of what was once the azure forest. “Who could have done this?” asked akako her voice low and sad, “radion!” answered kin “that’s who.” Kin felt angrier then usual now and he wanted radion dead now more then ever! “I will kill him!” he said “he will pay!” “Do you remember the story I told you about the moon and the four adversaries?” Travis asked kin “do you remember what I told you happened to radion’s heart when he came to earth?” “It was devoured by darkness” answered kin unhappily “yes” said Travis “and that’s what’s happening here” he told kin “because radion was unable to control the spread of the darkness in his heart, it spread to the azure forest and killed everything in its path.” He explained “it’s just like what happened at my home” said akako sadly “the darkness came and it killed the forest in which I used to live” akako told everyone “my parents where badly affected by it too and they fell into Acoma” she explained “and I know that master radion is responsible for it too.” Kyo came and put her arm around akako’s shoulders “it’s alright” she told her “you’ll get your revenge soon.” In the distance they could see mater radion’s palace looming over the remains of the azure forest, it was covered in vines and was falling apart, and some bricks had come loose from the siding of the palace and left holes marking where they had been, “it looks ancient” said kin looking out into the distance “I wonder what it used to look like before it became this way?” asked kyo also looking out in to the distance, “I don’t know” said Travis “wait until we get inside” said akako “I bet the inside looks older then the outside.” “We all know we’ll be in there soon” said kin “the final battle is coming and I hope that when the day comes, the day we fight master radion, that we are ready for it.”
