I was tired of running. There was no where to run to, everywhere on the streets there was at least one picture of me “wanted” because I killed a policeman. Some nights I had to scurry around and eat people’s scraps of food. I would steal clothing so I actually look decent and people wouldn’t suspect me. I use to be a bounty hunter, in my prime. Those days are over. I use to be the hunter, now I'm the hunted. I yelped and cowered away in the shadows as a policeman walked past. When I turned around, there was a picture of myself, basically wanted. The person staring back at me had dark brown hair and one brown, while the other black eye. Someone could spot me miles away. There was a prize of Six Million gold but I doubt the king would actually give someone that much.
I gape at the food being spilled out onto the ground; it’s been a while since I’ve had a proper meal. The food was still hot and it made my mouth water. What if it was a trap? The police might know I’m here! I took a few steps backwards and felt a cold chill run up my spine. The lights went off as if they knew how to save me. My hand hovered around my sword but it was too late now. Someone placed a hand on my shoulder and I nearly jumped out of my skin. I ran towards the food and took the steak which was all sandy. I grimaced at the taste of crackling sand in my mouth. The person who grabbed me was almost looming over me now. It’s almost over; my pursuit is finally drawing to an end.
My hands were locked behind my back and I was slammed against the wall.
“Are you Emeria Fazzle?” a gruff voice asked, “The ex – bounty hunter?”
“I might be,” I answered back, trying not to give away my voice. His grip hardened and he threatened to break my arm off.
“Okay! I am!” I cried as a pain shot up my back. I heard the man hiss and his arm hovered near my head. Finally, his cold hand slammed into my head.

I opened my eyes and saw a figure peering over me. My head was pounding with a splitting headache and I thought, “The man who caught me must be a millionaire by now.”
“Oh, I’ve been waiting for this moment for too long now,” the voice said, which sounded like it was surrounding me. The world I saw was like a water painting as my vision blurred. My arms were tied behind me and my legs were attached to a shackle. My sword was placed neatly in the hands of the figure that loomed over me. I groaned.
“This will be painful,” he laughed as the sword lunged into my chest. I coughed up blood but I couldn’t say anything. I spat at the figure, who jumped away in disgust.
“This is the last name you would ever hear, King Arthur the second.” My eyes rolled back, so this is how my story would end. My song has ended and finally, the world went black.
