I was walking through the forest looking for a way out. It was dark and cold. I shivered as I walked. Then through the trees I saw light! I was almost out! I ran towards the light then I saw people standing next to the light. There was a tall man, a short man with an odd hat, and an old woman. I stopped running and hid behind a bush to see what the people were doing. Suddenly a huge blast of light threw me backwards! The tall man had made the light disappear! I gasped as they turned in my direction. Suddenly a huge blast of red lightning shot past me! “She can’t get away!” The old woman hissed. Then the people changed into huge black things! I screamed as I ran hoping someone would hear me. THUD, THUD, THUD! My heart pounded in my chest as I ran for my life! The big black things were chasing me! ”AUGH OOF!” I tripped over a sharp jagged rock cutting my ankle; I felt the pain and blood all over it! Suddenly the things surrounded me! They came closer and closer and then! “AHHHHH!” (GASP, GASP!) I sat up in bed. It was a dream but...I still felt the pain in my ankle where it had been cut. I looked around to see if I had woken anyone up. Of course I had….at least it was only one. Sara, my good friend. “Beth what’s wrong.” She said sleepily. “It was the dream again.” “The hottie guy one or the movie theatre one.” She joked. “Neither, the one with the things in it.” “With the pond?” She asked. “Not this time, not a single happy pond this time.” I said. “Is that a joke Beth?” “Never mind just forget about it.” “OK.”
She immediately fell asleep before she hit her pillow.
Someday I’ll ask her how she does that, but not tonight.
After a few minutes I fell asleep too.
