• Water, keep us cooled,
    Fire, give us strength,
Wind, envelop us in your splendor,
Earth, keep us strong and safe,
Spirit, make our eyes dance at love,
Darkness, keep the shadow behind us our friend.
    ~Marie-Ange

I was lying with my back against the cool grass, my long hair around me as I looked up to the star filled sky. That same star shone, winking down at me – well, that’s what it looked like. I watched the almost transparent clouds in the sky as they danced across the night sky, the nice breeze leaving my body comfortable in the slight chill.
“I always wondered what could be so entertaining about watching the sky.” He muttered. He had his hands behind his head, watching the stars. The crescent moon was a curved canoe in the sky, shining onto the bright meadow.
“Watching the sky isn’t something to look at; it’s something that you can watch, you can see its beauty in the light it gives us. Both day and night. It’s the thing that makes you wonder what life really is sometimes.” I shrugged, my arms acting as pillows under my head as I stared at the dark yet cheery sky.
“Wow you’re deep. Is there anything else I don’t know?” He teased.
“There are many things you do not know about me, brother.” I laughed quietly to myself.
    “Enlighten me.”
    “Hmmm… Nope.”
    “Aw come on!” He begged.
“Fine. You know what it’s like to be royalty. I know what it’s like to be a – let’s just call it down the middle class. Neither one of us could be in the others’ shoes.”
“I know that would be bad. I can’t be a girl.” He snorted.
“You say it like it’s a bad thing. You’re lucky you’re my brother or I’d smack you upside the head so hard your mother will feel it.”
    “She’s your mother too.”
I shrugged, leaving it at that.
I turned my head towards the woods, hearing my name being called.
“What is it?” I asked, getting to my feet and crouching near the ground.
There’s someone in the woods. Headed your way. He looks dangerous. The little bird peeped, and I got to my feet in a jerk. I took Kilunar by the upper arm and pulled him up.
“Thank you, brave bird. You may take your leave.”
I had my hand on his forearm, while walking back to the camp site, without as much as a sound. He came along silently.
I guess he knew we were in danger. Being able to talk to animals had its advantages.
But before anything could be done, the leaves rustle with hooves, and my automatic impulse was to hide my brother. I put him in the tent.
“Stay hidden.” I order in a hiss, and stand erect, watching the exact spot where the man would appear. Three, two one.
One leg of a black stallion emerged, and then the body and head. The horse was lean and graceful in his splendor, looking around like he was owner of the world.
But the man on the horse was a little more than frightening.
He wore black armor with white designs on it, and he hid his face with a sort of mask. All you saw was his dark shaded eyes and brown hair to his shoulders. I was beyond scared.
I saw Kilunars’ eyes bug wide from his watching spot. His lips moved as he found out.
Dark One. His lips formed. He looked at me.
All that while I wondered why he wasn’t going to be like any regular guy and come up all macho like instead of hiding.
You told me to stay here. His mind told mine with our twin-telepathy. I was raised to obey orders of women. But mind, shall he raise a hand on you, I shall rip his nice little throat to shreds and give the meat to the wolves.
I covered a giggle with my hand.
He won’t touch me. I won’t touch him. Watch.
“Greetings, Dark One. What purpose have you being here?” I asked, bowing low.
“You are the lost twin, are you not?” He asked me. His voice was harsh and a little more than rude. My back straightened.
“That matter, as to whether I am or not, shall be none of your business, kind sir. Now, I ask you that you move along.”
“That will be a no, Old One.”
    Old One…?
He took out a pistol from his saddle. I saw my brother flinch, and get ready to step in.
No, you’re not taking a bullet for me, you crazy Vampire Prince. I told him. I stared at the silver gun head on, not afraid.
    He’ll kill you!
    It’s an order.
He glared at me, but didn’t budge.
    And he fired.
I saw the bullet shot to pierce through my heart, and I stayed immobile. I watched the bullet with my eyes, smiling.
Before it would go through me, I raised my hand up.
“Wind,” I whispered, so he would not hear me. “Send this back please. Fire, teach this man a lesson.”
I felt the jolt go through me when the elements went off towards him, sending the bullet back at him. It went straight through his metal armor, powered by Wind and Fire.
“Get rid of this evil, foul man, but spare the animal. No harm will come to him.” I ordered in a slightly louder voice, while the man started to feel the pain.
I snapped my fingers, and he was gone. The horse ran off, free.
    I turned to my brother.
“You see? Nothing to worry about.” I smiled, arms outstretched to make it clearer. He stepped out.
“You’re a crazy sister.” He grinned. “But you’re my sister nonetheless.”
“Count yourself lucky, Dr.Goldenshine.” I grinned. He stuck out his tongue at me.

    (Kilunar’s P.O.V.)

I smiled. She was so crazy. But I’d take it a million times and be happy. Nothing in the world would make me give her away.
And when she stepped up to me and wrapped her arms around me, I smiled and relaxed.
No one could ever make me happier.
I wish I’d met her sooner than this. Knowing how all this turned out, I guess it was okay.
Destiny might’ve gotten in the way, but it can never win. I smiled.
“We should get some sleep.” She suggested, but she made no move to let me go.
    Neither did I.
She probably had no idea how her voice sounded to me. I’d bet my last hair on my head that she had no idea how beautiful she was.
Something on her caught my eye. She had a new tattoo.
There was a silver vine circlet on her head, a sapphire in the center that was shaped like a six pointed star. The silver stopped at a tip under it, and then vine like light blue tattoo’s framed around her face and went down her neck. I saw it went down her back, and down her arms that were exposed.
As she found her powers, she would change, I guess.
Her hair was tied up tight into a braid that went down to her calves, with golden vines in them. The dress itself was elegant in its simplicity.
The top had two very thin straps on her shoulders, and met with the main part of the top. There were two deep purple straps that wrapped around her slender forearms, and the top split after a few inches from the v neck, exposing her entire stomach. It had purple trimmings on the edge at the bottom, a deep shade of purple. It had white intricate designs, as on the light purple of the top. It left her bellybutton to her waistline exposed.
As for the skirt, well… there were no words. It had a slouching waistline as a deep purple, and following that same line was a deep purple silk see through skirt. It split down the middle of her front, yet she had a white undergarment. It flowed to her leg. On her arms were see through silk gloves, yet they left her entire hand exposed. It trailed down to her ankles in light purple splendor. All her silk see through fabric had intricate designs on them. Her light tattoo’s extended to her ankles, where she had two golden bangles on each ankle. She was barefoot.
I looked back at her after a one-over.
Her description to me was no word on the planet. Her looks would create a new word.
“What is it?” She asked. Yep, she was clueless as to how she looked.
“You look stunning.” I said simply, and touched her lips with mine.

I was shocked, sure. I knew I wasn’t beautiful. I was more or less plain. And he was a Prince, for Goddess’ sake!
    But, hey.
    Love makes you blind.
