• Kitt made her way down the street grumbling to herself. Of course it had to be night when she needed food. Why not day? Oh yeah, because she spent the day sleeping, and turned into her half-form at night.
Stupid scientists, and their stupid ideas, that involve their stupid dishes.......... The complaining went on and on and on.
Kitt ran into some moron on the street, and the little idiot wouldn't let her pass by.
"Look, are you dense or something?!" she hissed with her head under her thick hood to hide her cat ears.
"Or something." he grinned at her in the shadows.
"And is that something: your mom dropped on your head as a child, and now your a dumb as a doorknob?" she snarled.
"And i thought doorknobs were smart. My mistake." his smile grew.
"Listen you--" she stopped abruptly. Her voice sounded more like a yowl than a human rage. "I'm sorry." she said, her voice calm. "Now i must be on my way." she stood there.
    "Why?" he asked.
"Because, every living thing must eat, and i am out of food." she struggled to stay at a human tone, but if he kept at this then he'd end up with a pawful of claws in his face.
"Can i come?" he asked as she shoved past him.
    "Can i stop you?"
"No, but i thought i should be polite."
    "What's your name?" she asked.
    "Kristopher."
    "I'm Kitt."
He laughed, "Sounds like a sissy name."
You'll be regretting those words if you keep going.Kitt threatened mentally. "And Kristopher sounds like a mamma's-boy name." she retorted.
"It was my grandfather's name, he died the day i was born." he looked at her expectantly as if she was going to sympathize for his pathetic sorrow.
    "Good for him." Kitt snarled.
    "How?" sadness smothered his words.
"Because he didn't get to hear you drone on and on and on." Kitt said with a grin even though he couldn't see it.
"Uh.......I need to go." he shuffled away without a backwards glance.
    "Good riddance." Kitt grumbled.
Once Kitt got food, she ate, showered, and went to bed just as the sun was coming up.

In her dream she was escaping again.
It was as cold as the day she had escaped. Escaped. Not let go.
Sweat beaded her forehead as she ran, but not from the strain from the fear.
Her hospital gown blowing out behind her like ghostly wings. Dogs barked, men shouted, footsteps echoed around. Fear smothered her chest until she thought she would die from the strain.
She was out in the open air, but there was a waterfall. She looked down, then behind her, then down again. She jumped, and she screamed until she hit the freezing water, and gasped as cold shocked her. Water filled her lungs, and she, naturally struggled. Everything went black.

Kitt shot out of bed. Sweat covered her brow, and she saw Kristopher at the foot of her bed.
"I know what you are. You're a Neko."
    Kitt looked at him astonished.
"I need your help." he said. "The lab you came from took........my baby sister." he sighed.
Kitt knew a lot of insults she could throw at him, but held her tongue.
"Will you help me?" Kristopher asked.
