Hatter sat at the foot of his bed. His head in his hands. How could he have been so stupid? He had the strangest feeling inside of him. "I had felt something for her, now it doesn't matter." he sobbed. The cat strolled into the Hatter's quarters. "Well smart guy, you have about 20 minutes to do something or you will be calling Heather your majesty." he said. What could Hatter do?
Heather stood on the stool. The strange woman tailoring her dress. "You'll look very beautiful in this when you walk down the isle." she said. Heather did not feel that she was right. She was 20 minutes away from "I do." She began to cry. She stared at the door and whispered "Hatter."
The time had come. The king and his subjects were all in the large room. The priest at his side. The stranger led Heather down the isle. When she had imagined her wedding day, she imagined doves, cake, a handsome groom and someone human instead of this sick king. She overlooked the room. No one she knew, not even the Hatter.
Cheshire walked down the hall and into the wedding room. He could see Heather getting ready for "I do." He ran back to Hatter. "You're out of time Hatter. Either think of something, or forever hold your peace." Cheshire said. It was at that moment that Hatter stood up. This was his final chance. He ran out of his quarters and down the hall. "I won't let this happen." he said.
"I do." said the king. "If anyone has any ob-" the priest began though he was cut off. "Wait, aren't you going to ask me if I want to marry him?" Heather asked. "Why of course not because we know what you would say. And we ain't giving you a choice missy." the king told her. "If anyone has any objections, speak now or forever hold your piece." the priest continued. Just then, the door burst open. "Yeah, I can think of a few." the Hatter said. "Hatter!" Heather shouted. She ran to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "How dare you!" The king shouted. Knights flooded the room. "Run!" Hatter shouted. They both bolted out of the room. "The Looking Glass," Hatter said "it's the only way to get you home." "If it can get me home then why did you stop the wedding? I would have access to it." Heather asked. "Because then I couldn't do this." Hatter said, as he leaned in and kissed her. The king was behind them. "How dare you. You steal my wife and then kiss her. Off with your head." He shouted. The guards assembled behind the two. "Alright, I guess you've won, but think of this guards. You had lives, families, before the Black King showed up. Now you are forever servants. Never seeing your families. Do you really want to do this?" Hatter asked. The guards lowered their weapons. "Give up king." Heather said. The king lowered to his knees. He felt defeated.
Hatter looked at Heather. A tear formed in her eye as she turned back. "I don't want to leave." Heather said. She kissed Hatter and turned to the looking glass. "Goodbye Heather." Hatter said. "Cheshire." Heather seemed to have forgotten him until the last minute. "Oh I promised myself I wouldn't cry." Cheshire said. Heather gave a little chuckle and went back to the Looking Glass. She walked through, and the Looking Glass cracked and broke. She could not come back, nor could Hatter go with her.
