• The next morning Kitt walked out the door wincing at every step.
Kristopher was sitting there, his head against the wall, sleeping.
Kitt sighed, but instantly regretted it because more pain hit her, and made her gasp. Kristopher's head lurched out of slumber. "I'm awake mom!" he shouted.
Kitt snorted, and flinched. "Is that how you always wake up?" she asked not showing one ounce of her pain. He didn't need to know.
    "No," he replied defensively.
    "Sure,"
"There was a full moon last night."
    "I know."
"Is that why you hurt so bad?"
"How do you know i hurt?"
    "You were yowling last night."
    "Oh, i thought you left."
    "Nope, i waited. I'm sorry."
    "For what?" Kitt snapped.
    "Your pain."
    "You didn't cause it."
    "I know."
    "Then why are you sorry."
    "I'm sorry for you."
"You don't have to live it."
    "Thank goodness for that."
    Kitt glared.
"Hey, I'm just being honest." he held his hands up in defense.
"You're right." Kitt spun around, and went back into her apartment.
"So, what are we gonna do to get my sister back?" Kristopher asked while following her.
"We?" Kitt asked as she made a warm glass of milk with her pricked as if she heard wrong.
"Yeah, we. She's my sister, and i want to help get her back."
"Do you even know what a lab does to someone?"
    "No, but--"
"I am a neko because of them! They picked to living organisms, mixed them together in a dish, and grew me." Kitt had never told someone this story, but he had to understand. "Your sister is as good as dead. I can't go, and get her and watch you!" Kitt threw the mug of warm milk on the floor, and it shattered.
"So you're going to go get her?"
"Yes, she can't be there, and stay the same. You'll probably just get a shell of her. She won't be here anymore, but I'll go get her."
"I want to help." he insisted.
"Did you not listen?" Kitt snarled. Why did I have to eat Kitt thought to herself silently.
"Do you think that Lily's not important to me?"
"She won't be Lily anymore! She'll be a shell of who Lily once was."
    "How do you know that?"
"Because they took a family that was dear to me once."
    "What happened."
    "They tried to kill me."
