It was like watching a movie but if I were to look away or close my eyes my whole body would be in agony it felt like I was being burned alive while my skin was being flayed.
I could see Lillith and I knew that she intended to find the nearest village and pick a child at random and slowly torture the poor thing.
Lillith was taking her time walking through the woods, enjoying that she was free when a sound came to her, it sounded like a whimper. Following the sound she came upon a hollowed out tree with a little girl sobbing inside of it.
“Oh little one don’t cry, what is the matter to make you weep so?” Lillith questioned in her sweet motherly voice as she knelt down and gathered the girl in her arms.
“I-I can’t...find my-y-y mo-mom-momma.” The girl hiccupped out as she began to violently shake with her sobs.
“Shh sweetling” Lillith hushed her as she smoothed the girls hair. “Don’t worry I will help you find your dearest mother.”
The little girl sniffled. “Really?” she looked into Lillith’s eyes with nothing by hope and pure happiness in her sweet green eyes.
“Yes.” Lillith said with a smile and she stood them both up and grabbed the girls hand and started to walk down a worn path. “What is your name youngling?” She asked.
“Mona” she looked up and smiled. “I’m eight. Will you really be able to find momma?”
“Yes Mona” Lillith said. “You may call me Lillith.”
“Okay Lillith,” Mona said in a cheery voice.
After about a half-n-hour Mona broke the silence, “Lillith.”
“Wait,” Lillith cut her off, “Something’s coming, I sense it.” She looked down at Mona’s hopeful face. “No, it’s not your mother. It feels like bandits.” Lillith rushed Mona into a nearby cave.
“I don’t hear-” Mona began, peering out the opening of the cave.
“Silence!” Lillith ordered. She spun Mona around so she was facing Lillith. “Did you really think you would see your mother again?” Lillith laughed mincingly. She reached out her index finger until it was resting upon Mona’s forehead. She exerted enough power so that Mona would be in a trance-like state; she wouldn’t be able to move or talk but she could see and be aware of everything that Lillith did to her.
“Don’t fret little one,” Lillith cooed while caressing the girl’s hair. “You’ll just be in more agony.”
Lillith left Mona lying on her back as she went searching for the things she needed, she came back with some foul smelling herbs and some stones. She laid out these items next to Mona’s motionless body, Lillith then pulled out two vials from a hidden pocket in the folds of her black Victorian dress with white trimmings one of the vials had a milky substance in it, while the other held a clear bubbly mixture. Lillith then lifted up the skirt of her dress to revel knives with wicked looking blades strapped to her left thigh; she untied the leather strings that held it against her thigh and laid it next to her other instruments. As Lillith was doing this a soft breeze swept through the cave, she closed her eyes and sighed as she felt the wind caressing her face like soft fingertips would.
“Samuel.” Lillith breathed out.
My breath hitched in my throat, standing in front of the cave was the image of Aiden. I hurriedly unfocused my vision on his face so the pain I had been trying really hard to keep under control for the last five years wouldn’t start up again. I knew it wasn't Aiden because of the aura emitting off of his body. His voice further added to the assumption.
“Lillith,” He whispered his arms reaching out, “we’re free.”
“Yes,” Lillith agreed rising to her feet to envelope herself in his strong sure embrace. “At least, for now.” She added.
He chuckled. “Must we always look on the dark side of things love? We’re free to do what we like for now; I see you’re making up for lost time already.”
Lillith smiled into his chest, “Yes, I was just about to start, want to join me? She does not have an amulet or anything, poor girl, no protection against things like us. ”
“Their loss our gain, I’d rather just watch love, you do it better then anyone.” Samuel whispered nuzzling her hair.
“Fine miss out on all the fun,” Lillith laughed. She went back over to Mona’s side while Samuel leaned against the wall of the cave, watching Lillith with an amused and knowing smile.
Lillith pulled out a syringe and extracted some of the mixture out of the vial with the white milky mixture. She then plunged the syringe into Mona’s chest and pushed the substance into her, where her veins carried the deadly mixture throughout her motionless body. In moments Mona found herself feeling as if her skin was being burned and flayed at the same instant, but it didn’t go away or dull, it got worse, much worse. Mona could not scream could not move she found herself trapped in a whirlwind of pain.
Lillith gently extended Mona’s arm out away from her body, humming softly to herself, she took one of the stones, and repeatedly she smashed it on Mona’s arm. Her strong bones gave way with a defining crack; Lillith continued to do this to Mona’s whole arm. She knew what Mona’s was feeling and she kept enough power tuned on her so that she wouldn’t go into shock or pass out from the pain.
Laying the stone aside Lillith then grabbed one of the blades placed on an angle she sliced off the top layer of Mona’s skin. She did this over, and over again from her shoulder to her middle finger all the way around her arm when she was finished with her task, Mona’s arm was a non-recognizable mass of blood and tendons.
Lillith looked up from Mona’s body and gazed lovingly at Samuel and he held her gaze steadily with traces of amusement clearly on his face.
“You sure you don’t want to assist me?” Lillith cooed crooking a finger in his direction.
“Will I get a prize for joining?” He teased but he pushed off the wall and came to kneel on the opposite side of Lillith, facing her. He grabbed one of the long six-inch blades and repeated what Lillith did to Mona on the other arm. While doing this Lillith got up and walked around Mona’s still form to come to rest behind Samuel wrapping her arms around his midriff she leaned against his back running her hands over her chest occasionally she waited for him to get his own bloodlust out of his system.
When Samuel was finished with Mona for the moment, her body was a poor excuse for a human; her only recognizable feature was her face, he saved that for Lillith because she knew how to cause the most pain when she does her job. Her body was a mass of tissue and bone. Her skin lay in strips heaped in a pile there were four bloodstained blades lying beside her. Her ribcage was visible, if Mona was to move, her stomach and intestines would spill out. The only way you would no she was alive was because of the slow jagged breaths. No doubt, she was in pure unadulterated agony, but she could not even utter a single sound because of the bindings that Lillith had put on her mind, what added to it even more Samuels’s presence heightened Mona’s nerve receptors so whatever Mona was to originally experience was added to about ten times greater.
Samuel sighed and put down his blade, he slowly turned in Lilliths embrace. “Well little love, do I get my prize?” He asked lightly.
“I never agreed to that,” Lillith countered.
“So you will deny me?” He asked incredulous
“Never,” Lillith promised.
“Good.” Samuel whispered cupping her cheek and giving her the softest of kisses they stayed like that for a while, their lips just touching. The magic was forcing me to look on helplessly the hole in my chest ripped open and all I could do was wince.
“I missed this.” Lillith breathed when they broke apart.
“We must find another way to be like this.” Samuel rested his forehead on hers.
“I know love I am working on it.”
“I left her face in your power love, I know you enjoy it the most.” Samuel breathed.
“Excellent,” Lillith beamed at him
