tab Screams of terror and pain echoed through the forest. They were human screams, a sure sign that I was dealing with some sort of Demon that had a taste for human blood. It was my job to eliminate Demons like that as a Demon Hunter. The screams that I had been following ceased and I stopped in my tracks. Now locating the Demon was going to be next to impossible unless I searched the Demon Plane for its energy.
tab I didn’t need to do that though because right then the smell of blood hit me. Quickly I followed the scent and stumbled into a clearing to a gruesome sight. A Halfling was crouched over a body and I could hear it crunching bone as it fed. It was a Tiger Demon Halfling, the most dangerous type of Halfling as well as the rarest.
tab This one was feral and, from what I could see and sense, very close to its final change. Its body radiated Demonic energy so strong that I could feel it without trying to. This was no normal Halfling, that much was very clear to me.
tab Matted, dirty yellow blond hair hung like a mane on its orange and black striped fur. Fresh blood coated its orange and black fur on its face and hands while older blood coated the rest of its fur. I stepped forward right onto a branch, making it snap. The Halfling whirled around to face me with a snarl. Its sky blue eyes were wild and Demonic looking, making it seem barely human.
tab All I could do was stare at it with wide eyes, mainly because it was a girl and she was completely naked except for the orange and black fur that covered her entire body. The ears on the top of her head were flattened down and her cat-like teeth were bared with lips drawn back in a snarl. What really kept me frozen wasn’t fear but the fact that the Halfling wasn’t wearing anything over her fur.
tab I knew that I was blushing but I couldn’t help it. The Halfling didn’t seem to notice though and was backing away. She moved on all fours like an animal, keeping her stomach and chest against the ground. I hadn’t even noticed that the clearing was actually a cliff until she had started to back away from me. She was moving towards the cliff and that made me act at last.
