It was pouring down rain on the small city of Thomasville, Ga. You could hear the pitter patter of the raindrops; it was so quiet. Everyone had taken refuge, there wasn't a soul in sight, besides a stray here or there.
But on the far edge of town in an abadoned park, a girl sat on a bench with her head bent down. She was drenched from her curly locks to the tips of her toes and you could see a shiver run through her body. In her hands she cradled a very delicate looking necklace.
It was a silver heart with a gold key. She gazed down at the piece of jewelry, turning it over to read the inscription on the back. "Above all else guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life," A wretched sob escaped her lips as more tears began to well up in the corners of her hazel green eyes.
