I gently held Yessie to my chest as Candy Cane stalked over to the screaming woman, tisking and shaking her head softly. "Really Titain? Really? You should know not to mess with Samurai's wife. That girl almost killed the last guy that tried to get fresh with her. Don't you remember Oni-san?" She ask the blonde girl.
Ahh, Oni-san... Now THAT brought back memories. He had cornered Yessie three years ago next to a shack, and tried to get, well, more than just fresh. That was way before I proposed to her and all, but I still wasn't just going to let him hurt a sister. I was a scrawny little girl back then, just starting out in the Skitter Boys and building my strength and wind when I heard her scream. I followed it to them and grabbed the first thing I could, a small kunai that had been in my pocket for a few days. It had been a gift from the Ninja Shadow Family to me for busting their Father out of a Dog Pound. It was engraved with the words; Akudo is forever in your debt, Samurai. It was tradition for the Father of your Family to name you, but never a Father of a different Family. I slammed the small blade into his armpit and twisted, hearing it tear the skin and muscules with grim satisfaction. He passed out cold and just crumpled to the ground, and I straddled him in my olive green cargos, black boots, and black tank that marked me as a Skitter Boy, the only female Skitter at that, and carved the broad letter 'O' into his forehead and the small arrow in the center. I didn't wake him or give him any ceremony, I left a note pinned to his shirt that if I came back and me was still there, he would die. Just that simple. I took Yessie away from there and when I got back he had the nerve to be gone.
Candy Cane nodded to Shaman and Voodoo to get her to get patched up as I fixed my thick ponytail. My long dark brown hair needed to be kept back and my brown eyes constantly looked for threats. My left thumb gently played with the broad silver band on my left ring finger. My wedding band. Yessie had a thinner, more feminine version on her left hand but they held the same five symbols on them. An 'S', an arrow, and a 'Y' were in the outside of the rings and hidden on the inside were the words, 'Yessie' and 'Samurai'. This would show anyone that we were married under Left Behinder law. All Familes would respect this marrage and us as husband and wife. Spitfire glared at her and I literally growled at her. I mean rabid animal growl. "That was stupid, she coulda killed her." She hissed at me, and I knew that she half wanted Yessie to be dead.
It took every ounce of restraint to not throttle that chick right then and there. "You had your chance to love me Amanda." I shot back angrily. "You had several in fact. But I was more of a ******** buddy than a girlfriend, remember? I 'wasn't worth your time', isn't that right? Yessie is my wife, and if she coulda been hurt, then it wasn't stupid of me for protecting the love of my life."
She had that look that girls get. You know the one. The one they have when they just got busted and in a big way, but are too stubborn and pig headed to admit it. Suddenly Recon yelled from the comm-station, "Incoming trans guys! It's Elfy!"
