“In a land where fantasy is reality and dreams really do come true, there exist four amulets. It is said that these amulets hold the power to create life from nothing, turn back time and space, and bring the dead back to life, but in the wrong hands, the amulets hold the power to do great evil, create deadly diseases, and ultimately destroy the world. Fearing that the amulets would fall into the hands of evil, the keeper, Loriana, an immortal god who forged the amulets for the purpose of spreading peace, scattered them amongst four tribes. The Amulet of Flame, which holds the power to control all that is fire, which is given to the Litner Tribe, a group of nomadic giants, which are said to be the only ones left of their kind. The Amulet of Water, which holds the power to control all that is water, had been given to the Dellian Tribe, an group of Water Sprites, that are known for their kindness and peaceful nature. The Amulet of Earth, which is said to hold the power to create and control all that it earth, was given to the Draco Tribe, a group of humans. The Draco Tribe was known for its fierce warrior and adamant spirit. The location of the last amulet was kept secret, so that if the other three amulets were to be taken, the last one would be safe.
Now, a millineum has past, the tribes are long forgotten, and with them the amulets. That is until Alexander III, a tyrant of has nearly conquered the world, found out about the amulets, and now he has his eyes set on them. It is said that if Alexander should gather the four amulets, his rule would be eternal. Loriana, who has stood idly by, watching as Alexander gained power, decided to form the Order of the Dragons, a group of young men and women who were imbued with one of the powers of the amulets, to combat the Alexander and his immense army. Now the race is on, Loriana and her Order, Alexander and his army, whoever reaches the amulets, shall gain power over the entire world; however, this is just the beginning of something even worse to come. Unbeknownst to Alexander and Loriana, there is said to be a human, born with the powers of all the amulets, which shall one day save the world and bring it to the light, or destroy the world and bring it even lower to the pits of darkness and despair. This is the story of that one human, Evan Bringer, who shall decide the fate of the world.”
Book One: The Chosen
As the sunlight shines through the window, the beams of light scattered and hit the dark and sullen room, filling it with warmth and light. The beams hit the bed where a dark and rather large bump laid, restless and unmoved. The sound of footsteps could be heard approaching the room and suddenly stopping at the door. There is a knock at the door, but the bump in the bed remained motionless, then there came a few more, and yet the bump was still. “Evan, are you in there? Get up or you will miss breakfast.” A beautiful, angelic voice called out as the door opened, revealing a beautiful woman. Her hair was amber brown, which complimented her dazzling blue eyes. She could not have been more the thirty of age, “Evan!” she shouted as she nudged at the bump, and it began to move, “What!” the bump shouted as it jumped out of the bed. As the sheets that covered the bump fell to the ground, it revealed a teenage boy, his hair the same color as the woman, but his eyes were different, they seemed to be a dark red color. “Evan, you are going to be late for school,” the woman said as she approached the boy, “Clean yourself up. I made breakfast, so after you brush your teeth and such, go and get some, the head immediately to school.” The woman ordered Evan as he nodded and went into the bathroom. Minutes later, Evan exits the batroom, looking completely different from earlier. Evan grabs his back pack and heads down stairs, he looks at the breakfast his mother had set out for him, and then turns away, “I’ll see you after school, mom” Evan said as he gave her a kiss and began to walk away. “Evan, you should really eat something,” his mother said as she stops him, “Lately you’ve been distant, let’s talk, I’ll drive you to school later,” she stated. “Sorry mom, but I just feel like being alone for a while,” Evan stated as he walks out the door and walks to school.
On his way to school, Evan observed his surrounding like always. He looked to left and watched the birds as they filled the park they were in with the sound of chirping. After passing the park, Evan looked to his right, and saw three of the king’s soldiers harassing a pair of ogres, who were trying to buy some fruit. As the soldiers continued there harassment, the other people in the town simply ignored the ogres plea for help. Evan, seeing this happen every day, stopped and commented to the men, “You all sicken me,” he said as the soldiers turned around, “What did you say kid?” one soldier asked as the other two approached Evan from his side, “I said you sicken me. You, who have power, do nothing but degrade and torment those who do not. You are a disgrace to humanity.” Evan’s speech was heard by all, but still no one stepped up to help the ogres. “That was a great little speech kid, but as you can see no one cares about these filthy creatures or you,” another one of the soldiers said as all three of the soldiers were now focused on Evan.
Seeing that all three soldiers forgot about the ogres and turned their attention towards him, he ever so slightly motioned with his eyes to the ogres, telling them, subconsciously to leave. Noticing Evan’s eyes, the two ogres left in a hurry, leaving Evan to fend for him. Evan braced himself for what was to come; he slowly backed away from the soldiers, knowing that they would follow him. As he continued to back away, the soldiers were beginning to get agitated and one of them rushed towards at Evan, with a beautifully crafted sword. “You brat, you’ll pay for what you have said!” he shouted as Evan jumped backwards and the soldier had ran head first into a brick wall. As the soldier connected to the wall, he passes out due to the enormous amount of pain he was in, but before he hits the ground, Evan uses his back as a surface and springs off it, landing directly on the other two soldiers. Evan then delivers a couple of fierce blows to the soldiers, leaving them unconscious. “Serves you right,” Evan thought as he gets up, and then hears the sound of more soldiers coming towards him, “Just as I thought,” Evan said as he runs down an alley and climbs on top of a building, completely hidden, and after a few minutes of searching, the soldiers left, with their unconscious allies in tow.
After they had left, Evan jumps down off the building and exits the alley, “This world has become corrupted and drenched in greed. And the one responsible for it is that man, Alexander III, Ruler of the Land of Eternia,” Evan thought, “but one day his rule will come to an end, and this world will finally know peace and kindness.” Evan resumes his walk back to school, unaffected by the events that had just happened so early in the morning, he then stops before the gates of the palace in which Alexander had built, “I shall be the one to usher in that era of peace” was all Evan thought as he walks by the gates and enters the school.

- Description: This is a part of a short story that I as required to write for school. It isn't very unique, but I thought that it would be a great chance for others to critique my work and help me grow as an writer. I don't mind critiques, but if you just come here to say how horrible and boring it is, then don't even bother reading it.
