My head is numbed with each blast of sound that wracks my body till the silence between each wav when all the pain spikes back up and stabbs deep within me. I can't hear anything over the beat of my heart in my chest as it desperately tries to keep with with my swirling thoughts. Where am I? Why does my head hurt? Am I dead? Am I alone? My mind clouds in it's own blizard that leaves me in a senseless cold and leaves me to wonder. A blizzard... A blizzard!
My eyes are opened and nothing but a pure white light spills into my sight. They ache at the bright pigment and shut themselves again in almost an instant as they start to water and cloud. I'm in a blizzard! my brain finally scrambles through it's own haze when it tries to fathom the abyss of white flurries. How do I get out!? I opeen my eyes again and find that the pain within them has subsided but the pain in my head still was growing more and more manicial and dangerous between bursts of static noise.
There's nothing around me, nothing at all apart from the wasteland of snow, brighter than the sun with it's reflection as the light rebounds from the ground. My hands will themselves weightlessly to my eyes to shield them from the light and they look too sickly yellow and fleshy against the snow to be real. Is this my body...? Have I changed? Turning my hand over and over again as I watch it move, I'm completely mesmerized. My skin seemed so yellow against the snow... I can trace it as it gets more and more yellow and almost rotted seeming up my wrist to... my black fingertips. My throat is soar and I hear a high pitched whine somewhere in the back of my head and my brain scrambles to another conclusion, I have frostbite... And I have to get out of here.
I can hear something creak loudly within my own ears, within my own body as I force my legs to take my weight and my feet sink deeply into the snow. It makes me panic a little to think that now I don't feel cold and that I don't seem to feel the weight upon myself.
Walking, walking, walking, and walking... on and on my feet don't stop even when my head tells them to rest. On and on I watch the world move past me slowly, but the only way i can tell is by watching my footprints grow smaller and smaller behind me. Even after what sees to be mile after mile, I don't feel tired. This must be Limbo or something.. I think to myself silently and close my eyes, letting my head hang and rest as I give up on telling my legs to stop moving.
There's time that's slowly slipping away from me but I don't bother counting seconds, my head is still being pounded upon by the same static noise that seems to have enveloped me. I oepn my eyes to look for the source of the sound snd I'm immediately puzzled by the black line that seems to be protruding from the ground like a little black twig.
Something jerks me foreward by my chest, some invisible string tangled tightly around my sternum, and I begin to fall with a melancholly laziness that leaves me uncaring. If I'm hurt then... so what? But that same imagionary string jerks me back upright and my head us blown back with the force but the sky doesn't seem to be any different from the ground, it's all a mesh of white, feathery snow. The string snaps taught and I'm jerked again to a stop, whipping my head back down with the force and black flashes before me.
My head is shaken up so much it can't even comprehend what's in from of me, this... shadow like figure. It seems almost like a silouhette, just an all black figure. The static has dispated at once and I realize that the whole world is at a stand still, not even the listening snow dares to make one move.
It makes no sound but it reaches out and takes my freezing hand into his melting warm palm and everything is drawn into me, all the snow is sucked right out of the world and I'm surrounded In black at once, like I'd shut my eyes away from all this confusion.
But had I closed my eyes after all? Consciuosness seemed to slip away from me but I didn't close my eyes... did I?
The blackness around me is slowly tinted as it seems to be come more tangible and focused, untill it appeared that I did have my eyes closed after all and there was a bright light shining on me.
My eyes open slowly to a white expance and I'm almost terrified of the thought that I could be in such a wasteland again but it slowly comes to me that it's just a white ceiling. What place do I know has white ceilings...
There's a gasp or a squeak off to my right and my thoughts cut short as my eyes lazily roll over to find a woman with light brown and strange red hair pulled back into a loose tie that fell over her left shoulder which was wrapped in a white coat that came apart around he sencer of her chest where a bright blue shirt peeked through. She seemed so surprised that her precariously perched glasses might just fall off the end of her nose.
"You're awake!" she squeaked excitedly and smiled from ear to ear.
"Yeah..." I tried to croak back but it came out too slurred and hoarse to be understood.
She shook her head and rambled on "Don't talk, you're been out way too long for something like that now."
I ignored the advice and digested what she said carefully... "I was out too long?"
"Yeah," she blinked at me quizically. "You've actually been knocked out for a good while... almost like a coma."
