• "We have a new student today, do you mind introducing yourself to the class?," Ms.Clark asked her, the students in the class looked at her, their eyes full of curiosity. Vanessa cleared her throat, before speaking, "I really don't have much to say other than, my name," she placed a hand on her hip, "my names Vanessa, it's a pleasure to meet you all," she grabs her back pack up off of the ground, "there's a seat right over next to Harry," Ms.Clark points over towards a boy who slightly raised his hand in order for her to know where she sat. She placed her back pack near her before sitting down at her seat, "so you're the new girl Peter's been taking about," he looked her over, "you don't look anything like he said. My names Harry Osborn," Vanessa turns her head slightly, "well that's because he's been telling you trash," she placed her hands together, she was a bit curious of what he said about her, but she didn't want to, a bit afraid she might get angry at the wrong person, "you already know my name so I don't have to tell it to you," Harry grins, "well he was right about one thing, you have a bit of a temper," Vanessa looks over at him, "so what if I have a temper," he was about to say something but the bell rang, "okay class, we're watching a short movie about World War One, the test will be held on Friday, please don't forget," Vanessa took her back pack and pulled out a slip of paper, it was her class schedule, these things always confuse her, especially when she just started.

    Harry offered her some help, she wanted to refuse but he was the only person who offered to help her out, "thanks....," he took her schedule, her next period class was Gym, "I'll make a deal with you," Harry folds up her schedule and placed it in his shirt pocket, she crossed her arms, "you become my girlfriend, and I'll skip all my class in order to show you around the school," Vanessa's face scrunched up, "what? what sort of a deal is that?!," she shook her head, "forget your deal and give me back my schedule," Harry smirks, "I'm sorry, I think I'll hold onto it for now, see you around," he walked away to his next class, leaving her to boil in her own rage, who knew her first enemy would be a guy of all people. Vanessa found her next period class, which was Gym, but it was at the very last minute, Mr. Jim gave her a stern look, she rubbed the back of her neck, "I'm so sorry, I'm new," she felt like she didn't say it in a tone that was most believable, but as he checked his clip board he nodded his head, "Vanessa Johnson, you're the new girl," a crooked smile appeared on her face, "yeah, that's me," Mr.Jim frowns, "the bells about to ring, but you ain't goin anywhere," he points his finger towards the girls locker room, "pick a locker, get a lock, and a new pair of Gym clothes will be waiting for you," he turns his attention towards the other students, "you have about five minutes, so hurry," Vanessa did as she was told and ran towards the locker room. As she went in she could see that some of the girls had already started to get dressed in their regular clothing, one of the girls she recognized had been Ava, "you're really late you know that," Vanessa opened a vacant locker, "way to state the obvious," Ava shrugs, "hey, I'm just saying," the bell rings and Ava picks up her books, "see you at lunch," Vanessa sighed, "yeah.... if I can find it."

    Stretches, push-ups, jumping jacks, sit-ups, pull-ups, running, "no more....please....," Vanessa fell on her butt, her head hanging back, "get up Johnson, you have five more to go," she groaned, "come on, are you serious?," Mr.Jim grins, "well you could always start your first day with an F," he told her, she took a deep breath before getting back up, "that's what I'm talkin about!" Rope climbing, weight lifting, invisible chair, rock climbing, planking, "walk it off Vanessa, just walk that one off," Vanessa limps half way over towards the girls locker room before falling flat on her face, "uuhhgg....," Mr.Jim squats down, "muscles burning?," Vanessa turns her head in his direction, a sort of smile on her face, "more like on fire," he laughed softly and helped her up, "I really didn't have to do those, did I," Mr.Jim crossed his arms, "correct, next time get here on time, then maybe you won't have to do this over again," she nods her head in a tired like manner, "yeah, get here on time, I gotcha." Mr.Jim had written her a pass for her next period, and lucky she had about ten minutes left of class left, so she chose to run to her class, she as glad she sort of memorized her schedule before Harry had taken it. Vanessa opens the classroom door, and as she walked in everyone looked at her, the teacher seemed to be in a bad mood just by looking at the frown on her face, "you're late! Have you been skipping young lady?," Vanessa raised her eyebrow, "I know that already, and no, I haven't, here's the pass to prove it," the old woman adjusts her glasses and snatched the pass from her hand, "let me see this, you kids now and days always find ways to get out of trouble," she mumbled before putting it in her desk drawer, "to the office, now!," she blinks twice, "for what? I didn't do anything!," she points over towards the door, "march on out of here," Vanessa rubbed the sides of her temples and heads out of the class, she was too tired to argue over something so small, and especially with an old hag such as her. She opens the door to the office to see Peter, Sam, Luke, Danny, and Ava all there, "whats the deal, are we all in trouble or what?," Sam chuckled before standing up, he ran his hand through his black hair, "you know, I don't think I had the honor of meeting you," he winked and smiled, Vanessa crossed her arms, "the names Sam, and you are?," she didn't have to speak because Danny took the stage for her, "her names Vanessa, and I don't think she's willing to go down such a path," Sam squints his eyes, along with everyone else, "wuh?," but before anyone could come up with any sort of conclusion the principal came in, "so what is it this time Coulson, another bank robbery?," Peter said coolly, Coulson sat on his chair, "no Peter, something much bigger."

    Ava leans over towards Vanessa, who had been too busy searching around for a mask, but couldn't find one, "Danny has a thing for you, doesn't he!," Vanessa looks over at Ava who had the biggest grin on her face, she smiles, "does a kiss count for a thing?," Ava gasped, "oh, you have to tell me all the details girl~," a knock came from the door, they would have to postpone their talk for some other time. Ava opens up the door to see everyone waiting for them, "it's been ten minutes, how long does it take to slip in uniform?!," Peter said as he slips on his mask, Vanessa walks over towards the door, "sorry, it's my fault, I can't find a mask at all," but no response came from them except a few words here and there, "good.... mhm nice....," Peter tried to say, Vanessa sighed, "does anyone have an extra mask I can borrow for the time being?," she shook her head, "don't bother asking these morons for anything," Ava said as she past them along with Vanessa, "wait!," all three boys said in unison, "take my glasses!," Luke insisted, but Sam got in front of him, "no, take my helmet," he said before taking it off, "don't take bucket heads helmet, it's probably rusted from the inside, take mine instead," Peter said, "you know you want it~," he side while poking her cheek, causing her to squint her eyes. She smacked his hand away, "thanks, but none of them suit me," Danny walked up to her, a long black cloth in his hand, "I beg to differ," he hands her the cloth and she took it, "seems fair enough," Vanessa said before strapping it on her face, "thanks," Peter placed his mask back on along with the others, "you just missed out on an opportunity of a lifetime," Ava and Vanessa raised their eyebrow at the exact same time, "I'm so glad we have another girl on the team."

    All six of them stood upon a tall building, waiting for something big, but nothing came, "did Coulson pull a fast one on us?," Vanessa said, she was leaning on Spider Mans back, "I hope not, I was planning on going to the movies today," White Tiger looks in his direction, "plan? do we have to remind you that every time you go you always call us to come with you," she said before sitting down, Nova chuckles, "that's because he has no one to take with him," Spider Man frowns, "that's not true, I have people, no! Friends," he crossed his arms and held his head up high, "yeah, well the only friends you have are Mary Jane and Harry," Spider Man would have said something but Vanessa spoke up first, "wait, do you guys feel that?," everyone went silent, the vibration stopped soon after, "it was probably just the generators, you know....," Nova said with a shrug of the shoulders, Vanessa rubbed the side of her arm, "yeah, maybe it's just me, we have been out here for a long time," with out warning something massive erupted from underneath them, causing the ground they stood on to crumble, "JUMP!," Spider Man told them, but he didn't have to tell them twice. With out any hesitation Vanessa and the others jumped off the edge of the building, she conjured four X's big enough to step on, one for her and the other three for Iron Fist, Power Man, and White Tiger, then it hit her like a bomb, the people below, they were in the way of falling debris, Spider Man had already snatched a few civilians, but others were still running, trying to find the nearest safe zone. All four land safely on the ground, and soon after screams were heard, Vanessa didn't have to look up to know what they were screaming at, another red X appeared, but this time it began to expand over the crowed of people like a flat umbrella, what ever had slammed on the large red X had cracked it half way down the middle, the people gasp, "who are you?," a little girl asked, Vanessa groaned under the weight, her arms were slowly giving way, now that she thought about it, she never actually had a code name, "uh... I....," a shout came from the crowd of people, "it's Scarlet X!!," she takes a deep breath, "yeah, I'm sort of new.... but that doesn't matter! What really matters is every one of you guys safety! Now get a move on!!," they all did what she said and scrambled from underneath the humongous X and just in time too, the X starts to break apart like shattered glass, Scarlet X lowers her arms and ran from under the X as fast as she could, she jumps into the safe zone before the large chunk of building could crush her.

    Everyone looked up at the thing that caused the disturbance, "what is that thing?," a bystander said before taking a snap shot with her phone, "well, if I were you I wouldn't be taking pictures," White Tiger said, Spider Man shrugs his shoulders, "that's New Yorkers for you," Scarlet X nods her head in agreement, "true, so very true," Iron Fist was the first to notice that the giant worm was ready to come back down, "if you all want to get out of here alive then I suggest getting as far away from here as possible," another snapshot, "Iron Fist, eeekk!!!," Scarlet X frowns, "do you people not understand that your lives are in danger! Giant worm, hellooo!," did life not matter to these people, she just saved their lives along with Spider Man, did they not want to hide and cower in fear? She rolled her eyes, maybe the constant chaos in New York made them used to it. A blood curdling screech made everyone even the team place their hands on their ears, "it's coming!!," one man yelled, "now they run," Nova said as he blasts at the worm, which, by the way was diving down at god knows what speed, "Nova move out of the way! That thing will flattened you like a pancake!," Spider Man told him, as it came down they all jumped out of the way, and the moment it touched ground it sent a large amount of debris everywhere, a piece of rock hit Spider Man up side his head, "ow! Stupid worm!," he said while rubbing the side of his head, "HA! That was classic," Spider Man growled, "shut it bucket head," Iron Fist stood beside the giant hole in the ground, "seems to be heading for the subway," Scarlet X crossed her arms, "then what are we waiting for, we can't just let it damage anything else," she conjured another red X and stepped on it, she made four more for Spider Man, Power Man, Iron Fist, and White Tiger.

    Iron Fist was right, it had been in the subway, just by looking at the slime covered walls they could tell that it had already found a comfy spot to nest, "this is disgusting," White Tiger said as she pulled her foot out of a pile of goo, "yeah, and the smell isn't too good either," Scarlet X covered up her nose, but it didn't do too good anyway, "hey, where's Power Man and Iron Fist?," Spider Man asked, Nova, Scarlet X, and White Tiger look at each other, "I thought they were behind us," Nova said, their was a pause before Spider Man held himself, "this is a bit freaky," White Tiger shook her head, "I'm sure their just lagging behind," she assured him, "yeah, at least Nova....!! Wait where's Nova?!," all three hold each other, "oh man, he was just here a minute ago," Scarlet X said, there was a slight growl in the darkness, "I'm outta here!," Spider Man said before breaking off from group, "you idiot! Don't you know the ones who go off alone are the first ones to go!!," White Tiger yelled out, another growl caused them to hold each other tightly, "AAAAHHH!!!"

    "Uuhh.... wuh?," Spider Man had been the last one to wake up, "finally awake, you jerk," White Tiger struggled in the goo like cocoon, "what? Every man or woman for themselves, ehe," Scarlet X balled up her fists, "but we're supposed to be a team, and a team sticks together," Spider Man turned his attention over towards her, "well we're all here now, and it seems we'll be stuck here as a team," he tried to break free from the cocoon, but no dice, "this reminds me of that one movie where the space team got into a deadly situation just like us, and theeenn," Scarlet X raised an eyebrow, "wait, I think it's coming back," everyone went silent, a squishing sound came from the dark opening of the tunnel until the worm came out, it began to shake, a nasty gurgling sound coming from it, "ew, what is it doing?," Spider Man asked, Power Man turned his head, "throwing up its lunch," Spider Man's eyes widen at the unholy sight before him, "uhhhg, I think I'm going to be sick," he said before lowing his head. Scarlet X watched as the worm slithered over towards her, she turns her head in the opposite direction, it licked the side of her face, putting slime all over it, "sick.... nasty.... fowl....," but something about that slime made her weak, and tired, like she had been running a marathon with out taking any breaks, "so.... tired....," her head slightly tilts to the side before passing out, "it's draining not just her, but everyone of us of our energy," Iron Fist told them, "if we want to defeat this creature we must break free of these cocoons," he finished, Nova grins, "already ahead of you!," a small explosion came from Nova, he had broken free, "now to save the damsel in distress," he blasts the worm on its side, causing it to role over, "okay bucket head, do some magic over here, like now," Nova blasts their cocoons one by one, freeing them of their temporary prison. White Tiger held Scarlet X who had been waking up from her short slumber, "uhg, is everyone okay?," she asked, "well aside from the giant worm trying to kill us, yeah, we're all good," Spider Man pinned the worm down to the ground with his webs, "lets end this!," Power Man, Nova, Iron Fist, and White Tiger stood side by side and ran towards the worm, "HEEEYYAAA!!," with four swift punches to the face it went down, the sounds of its pained groans echoing through out the tunnels, "it's trying to get back up!," Nova said, they all look back at Scarlet X, "show us why Fury placed you on the team," Power Man said with a grin, she steps back, "you got it," she ran forward, jumping up at the right moment, her fist drawn back, ready to strike, "KYAAA!!"

    Heading back to the mansion wasn't her primary goal, mainly because she was the only one living there, that one guy stayed in the mansion, but he didn't count. Vanessa lay on her bed thinking about how everyone got used to her, even Peter. The door opens slightly, "does the word privacy mean nothing?," she smell of Chinese food entered her nose, making her stomach growl, "I was hoping to break that boundary when we first shared our true feelings," Danny said before sitting on the edge of her bed, Vanessa sat up, she enjoyed Chinese, but she enjoyed the company of Danny even more, "in your dreams Danny, in your dreams," he smiled, "so how long are you planning on staying?," she asked him, Danny leans over, close enough where she could feel the slightest touch of his lips on her own, "as long as you want me to stay," Vanessa wanted him to stay over for the night, but maybe that was too much, "until I fall asleep," she told him, Danny slowly pressed his lips to hers, she broke it to only speak again, "but maybe you could stay a bit longer," she yawns, too tired to kiss at the moment, so she lays back down, Danny soon following, his arms wrapped around her small form, he pulled her close enough where her back met his chest, and slowly, but surly, she fell asleep in his arms.

    The next day everyone had to stay after school in order to do make up work, well except Ava and Vanessa, they were out, doing something, "I wonder what the girls are up to," Peter said as he scribbled down some math problems, "doing something other than this I assume," Danny said, Luke toyed with his pencil, "probably shopping, that's what all girls do on their free time," Sam sighs before speaking, "I wonder what Vanessa's doing right now," Danny looks in his direction, Peter was the first to notice Danny's mood change, "you've been acting odd lately Danny, " everyone nods their head, "yeah, ever since that day in the office you've had this glow," Luke grins, "glow Luke, glow?," Peter said before laughing, Luke crossed his arms, "you know what I meant, what I'm trying to say is that you've changed," Sam rolled his eyes, "come on, you guys haven't noticed yet! He likes Vanessa," all eyes were on Danny now, "really?," Peter and the rest were now curious, "so like, did you kiss her already? Or is she making it hard for you," Luke said. Danny shrugs, "what we did is none of your concern," Peter smirks, "oh really? Have you forgotten how much girls gossip?," Luke and Sam agreed, "yeah, Vanessa probably told Ava, and you know Ava can't hold a secret," Luke said before raising his eyebrow, "you can either tell us, or we could just go right to the source," Sam chuckled. Danny began to write down a few things on his paper, "I feel that this will get worse before it gets better...."

    Mean while at Central Park Scarlet X and White Tiger were busy dealing with Dr. Octopus, "if I can't capture Spider Man then I'll have to take you two as hostages!," Scarlet X quickly dodged his robotic tentacles along with White Tiger, "what would Spider Man say when faced with guys like these?," White Tiger said before landing perfectly on her two feet, Scarlet X smirks, "I don't know, maybe something along the lines of this," she jumps up and lands on of metal tentacles, "you should really take those tentacles back, their not really doing justice for you," White Tiger laughed, "what about that hair, looks dreadful, get it, dreadful," Scarlet X gasped, "that's gold!," Dr. Octopus growled, "enough of these terrible jokes! Now stay still!," Scarlet X blocked one of the claws with the flat side of her blade, "che, in your sad little dreams," she said before pushing back the metal tentacle, Scarlet X ran towards Dr. Octopus's weak spot, which was any part of him that wasn't metal, "CHHAAA!," she swung the blade but her attack was blocked off by another tentacle, "this is as far as you'll get!," but with out warning White Tiger dis a swift upper cut to Dr.Octopus's jaw, stunning him for a few seconds, this gave Scarlet X the opportunity to get as far away from him as possible, "I think it's time to test out these speed boosters," White Tiger pointed out, Scarlet X tapped the back of her heels, a red light appears on the back of each shoe, "it's nice of Fury to modify our gear every now and then," Scarlet X slams her fists together, creating two bright red X's to form on her gloves, "he even gave me a boost of strength."

    White Tiger and Scarlet X waited for Dr. Octopus to recover from Tigers uppercut, "time to end this," he said before charging at them, "you've read our minds exactly," White Tiger said before disappearing, Scarlet X watched in awe as White Tiger handle her new modification well, "you can't hide from me girl!," he looked around, but she wasn't any where, "who said I was hiding!," White Tiger appeared above him, "HAAAAA!," another solid punch hit him right in the face, then another, but before she could hit him again one of his tentacles had smacked her away, now it was her turn, "OCTAVIUS!," he turned his head in her direction, but she was gone, "you little- -! UHG!," Scarlet X had appeared under him in a blink of an eye and slammed her fist into the metal plate that protected him. He passed out from the lack of oxygen, his tentacle arms how ever kept attacking her even though he was unconscious, White Tiger got up to assist Scarlet X, but it seemed like she had got it covered. Scarlet X used her speed in order to slice through every last one of those metal tentacles until she brought Dr. Octopus down, "how does it feel to taste Earth again?," the only response she got from him was a slight groan, White Tiger ran up to her, "that was awesome," Scarlet X placed her katana back in its holder that was strapped on her back, "well if it wasn't for your punches I wouldn't have been able to bring him down," they both gave each other a high five, but found themselves flying back, "uuhh.... mental note.... never high five when wearing modified gloves, uuhhg...."
