- I never thought things would have ended like it did. When the tables finally turned, I thought it was too late to speak my mind but....my mind had spoken for me. I'm 16 and I go to school outside of the Sinabi Forest. No one likes going into that forest due to all the noise and the strange activity in there. So, the government put a fence around it after they found two girls dead. After the past 7 days, people were around in the forest again and then again...they died. I was interested in the forest so I did a report on it for History Class. I ended up getting an "A" because my teacher thought it was very interesting. So, after studying the forest for a while I decided that I wanted to go inside the forest too. Knowing it is like a death trap in there, on the next saturday i went in the forest. I found this nice little red house in the middle of the forest. Comes to find out my grandmother lives in the woods. So, as any normal person would do...I went to go visit her. Then, as she opened the door...she was very unhappy to see me. " Grandmother, why are you looking at me like that?" I asked calmly as she shrugged with no answer. My grandmother looks younger than she is. As we sit down together, I begin to ask her about the forest. Why do people get killed here? Why do you live in here? Did you know they put a fence outside the forest? Still, all questions with no answer. My grandmother isn't really the talkative type of person but she'll try her best to answer you. Then, I hear a howl of a wolf from outside as I turn to look at my grandmother and she is gone. Then, I hear pounding at the door. I quickly get scared and grab one of my father's old sledgehammers. As a boy who looks about my age walks into the house, i drop the sledgehammer. "Good afternoon ma'am" says the boy trying to catch his breath. I reply back with a simple wave. After a couple hours, he tells me who he is but he wont tell me where he came from...He's kinda cute too. I begin to try and draw conclusions to were he might have come from. Maybe he was running from the wolf, I thought. He then tells me that its not safe to be in the forest over night and that I should go back to where ever I came from. Then I told him to come with me. He looked confused at first but then said no. Then, I had to do it. I tried to hit him upside the head but good thing he had sharp reflexes. He told me that he will come with me but only if I didnt hit, kill,or turn him into the police. I was confused at first but just went with it. Once we got back to my house, he told me about his background and how he ended up in the forest. It was interesting but yet sad at the same time. Losing your family to a pack of wolves then running to survive. I never thought that there would be wolf packs in the forest. I only thought there was like one of two lost wolves. So, then he leaned over to me. I was confused but the he hugged me. So, I hugged him back then he told me to never tell anyone that he is here. So, without any thoughts to it...I agree. Then he looks in my eyes as I take a sharp breath. His eyes show sadness and neglect. Those he seems emotionless on the outside, I can tell on the inside he is a nice and helpful person. There was one thing that I questioned. If his family was killed by wolves, why wasn't he killed too? Then, the next night the moon was full and I found out the answer to that question. I went home late from school and it was already dark out. The clouds fill the sky except for the moon. I stood there and looked at the moon for a good three minutes then heard running and a flash of air rush past me. I scream and run home. When I open the door I find a wolf in my house looking at me with piercing red eyes. I grab my red hood and I make a run for the safe house in the mountains. When I get there I lock the door behind me and run to the attic. I know going here would make me trapped but it has weapons for survival in it. Then, I heard knocking and ended up falling out of the attic onto the main floor where the boy was. I asked him how he got here and he paused. "I followed you" he replied honestly. After he said that, I started to retrace my steps and it came to me. "you're the wolf aren't you" I asked and quickly he replied " are you afraid" as he put his hand on my right cheek. I reply with the word that everyone uses when they have nothing better to use "no". He hugs me and then kisses me. As his body warms me and his kiss calms me down, I look at him. " Do you like me?" I ask shyly. "Yes, better than that...I love you" he replies as he picks me up. He looks at me and I can hear his thoughts " wanna be like me" he thinks. I accept his offer and fall asleep in his arms as my last night of humanity becomes the best day of my life.
