• The box. the door. The crumbling brick. It begged me to enter. I'd never seen this door before, despite the fact that I walk down this alley to work every Tuesday. It was a surprise, that bright blue door. It wasn't a door to a store, and it had no home address. There was a box on the ground near the door. Though it had no particular markings, there was a hole, just large enough for two fingers to squeeze into it. To my own inquiry, I did so. I cautiously slipped my fingers inside the small, shiny red box. To my surprise I felt a chill. A slight brush of metal. Within seconds i shock the box and out fell a key. I stared down at the ground where the key had fallen, with wondrous eyes. Satisfaction and anxiety filled my body. I shot down to the ground to pick up the key. Without hesitation I jammed the key into the key hole. My eyes widened. The key didn't fit. My heart began to race and i started to panic. I threw down the key and and started to back away from this unsettling door. I began to walk away with shivers down my spin, until something compelled me to turn back. I felt guiltier and guiltier the further i walked away from the bright blue door. So finally i turned back and reached down to where the skeleton body of a key had rested just before, pocketed the key, and walked away with a treasure of my own demise.
