• It was almost time for the pot luck, and Youngji was just mindlessly wandering the halls. She was still thinking about her encounter with Taehyung earlier that day. "I should have asked him to join us for the pot luck. Eh... he probably wouldn't have gone anyway," she thought to herself. She ended up by the bathroom across campus without even knowing it. She walked inside, and found herself looking at her reflection in one of the mirrors. Just as she was about get lost in her thoughts, she heard coughing and dry heaving from the other side of the wall. It was the boy's restroom, but no one was even here on campus except her club, which are probably already eating by now. As she walked out of the bathroom, the coughing got worse. She didn't even know if she wanted to go in there, something dangerous could be on the other side of this door. All of these possibilities started floating around her mind, and before she knew it she was already opening the door. Whoever was in here immediately stopped coughing, or at least tried to. Youngji began walking down the isle of stalls, looking or the occupied one. "Hello? Whoever you are, do you need help? Are you sick?" She began pushing the doors open one by one, until she got to the last stall. That was the only one that was locked. Youngji knocked once. No answer. She knocked again. Still no answer. "Hello? Are you alright in there? I could call for help if-"

    "Y-Youngji?"

She heard groaning at this point. Yes the male had said something, but it was to quiet for her ears. She knew it was her name he murmured, but couldn't match the voice to a face. Youngji began to worry. What if it was someone from her club? He sounded horribly ill and she couldn't really do anything with this door being the only thing between them. She was about to say something else when she heard the lock click. The door opened, revealing... Youngjae? He walked past her, holding onto his stomach. "Oh my gosh, are you okay? Do you want me to call mom? How'd you-" She was cut off yet again, but this time by his cough. He spit in the sink but before she could get any closer, he turned on the faucet to wash down the remains of what he coughed up. Youngji rubbed his back in hopes of making him feel a bit better, but he only coughed more. "I'm just gonna head back to the class room. I'll see you over there, I'll be fine," Youngjae reassured her, hoping she would just leave him be. It worked. He left, but she didn't. When Youngjae had walked out of the stall, she didn't hear a flush. Youngji, being a polite person, went to the stall he brother just exited minutes ago. But what she saw, she definitely did not expect. The toilet... the whole inside was black. He was fine this morning, but what was this? He needed to rest and see a doctor as soon as possible. She ran out of the bathroom as fast as she could to catch up with her brother. From a distance, she could see someone sitting on the stairs that led up to their classroom.

"Hey, have you seen-" She stopped. "Youngjae! Are you alright?" Youngji ran to his side to help him up, only to get her hand swatted away. She stepped back while holding her hand. "What's wrong with you? Youngjae tell me what's wrong right now or I'll drag you to the hospital." Youngji then heard a chuckle. "That's the thing; I don't know what's wrong with me! I've felt like s**t all day, and I have absolutely no idea what the hell is wrong with me!" he all but yelled. She took a step back. Youngji had never heard Youngjae yell like this before. It kind of scared her. He coughed, and proceeded to spit on the floor; it was black, just like when Youngji had seen the inside of the toilet he used. "I-I don't understand... You were fine earlier this morning," she muttered. Another chuckle. "Youngji, the bathroom? Why I took so long. This was why. I didn't want to worry you or mom so I kept quiet about it. I just woke up this morning and had the urge to... throw up and I don't even know why." Youngjae was pacing back and forth now. Youngji was looking down when she heard Youngjae scream and hit the floor, clutching his stomach. Once again, she ran to his side but this time he didn't push her away. "No, get away. You'll get hurt. Youngji go."

"No! I am not leaving you! We need to get to a hospital and-"

Right before her eyes, Youngjae hunched over and threw up again. Youngji was terrified, she didn't know what was going on. She started to cry, it became harder for her to breathe right. "Y-Youngjae please. Let m-me help you. I don't know how, b-but I'll do whatever I can." Youngjae pushed her away, causing her to fall and scrape her elbow. It's like he had became another person. This was not her brother. Wiping her tears, she got back up only to be pounced on by Youngjae. Youngji hit the floor, hard, hitting her head in the process. He stroked her face, and she flinched at the sudden touch. "Youngjae, stop. You're being weird. This isn't you." She attempted to push him off but his weight overpowered her. Youngjae began getting closer, and closer to her face when a rock was flung at his head. "Hey a** hat. Get off of her." Youngji looked to where the voice had came from but her view was blocked, for Youngjae's arms hovered over her face. He grunted, not even one word coming from him anymore. "Yeah, I'm talking to you. I know she's yours, but I'd like to steal her for a bit. You wouldn't mind, would you?" Youngji successfully pushed Youngjae's arms out of her face, and she was actually relieved to see his face.

Taehyung was standing just a few feet from where Youngji was trapped under Youngjae. Taehyung took a few steps forward, which caused Youngjae to push Youngji behind him. "Aw, c'mon. You don't want her. Just hand her over, and we'll walk. I'll even let you get out of here... Alive." Taehyung stepped forward again. Youngjae began growling and he stood. "You are not killing my brother. Nothing is wrong with him, he's just sick." Youngji defended. "I don't think so~~~" Taehyung said. "Think again. Look again. He's not your brother anymore." Youngji stood up and took a look at her brother. He was foaming at the mouth, his eyes were bloodshot, and she didn't even notice his skin being a sickly purple. Even if Taehyung was right, what the hell could be wrong with Youngjae? Taehyung held out his hand, and assuming it was for her, she walked towards him. Youngjae jumped in front of her and grunted. "Kill... Me... Please." Youngjae took his sister's hand, got on his knees, and repeated those three words. Youngji began crying once more just at the thought of her brother being killed. By her no less. "I-I-I can't. I won't. Youngjae stop. This isn't funny. Let's just go home a-and we can have dinner with mom and-" Youngji couldn't even speak, she was sobbing. She couldn't loose her brother. He was her only best friend, she wouldn't let him go... not like this at least.
"Youngji. Leave him. It's not your brother anymore. If we don't kill him now, he's going to spread this sickness. If he bites you, you're going to end up just like him," Taehyung explained.
"No! I can't leave him and I won't let you kill him! He's all I have, I won't let you kill him!" Youngji stood in front of him, holding her arms out as if to shield Taehyung from Youngjae. She was still crying, she couldn't just stop. This guy, her long time crush, wants to kill her younger brother. She couldn't just let that happen, even if she did like him, no way in hell. "I can't just let you kill him. He's... No. Don't even come near us." Her tone of voice was serious, but Taehyung didn't care. Suddenly, Youngjae grabbed Youngji's arm and pulled her close to him. "Don't you dare. You do and I'll shoot." Taehyung pulled out the gun Youngji didn't even know he had. Youngjae looked over to Taehyung and frowned. He actually frowned, and it was then that Youngji knew. She knew this was not her brother. She struggled to get out of his grasp but she failed. He had this newfound strength and she figured that it was this sickness that had caused it. Just then, Youngjae began leaning into Youngji. She knew what was going to happen, but she didn't stop it. If it meant she would be with her brother, then so be it.

She closed her eyes, expecting pain to hit her. But it didn't come. Instead, she heard a gunshot. Right then and there, Youngjae collapsed into her arms. "No, no, no, no!! Why? Why would you do this?! I-I... Youngjae, Youngjae listen to me! Wake up! Youngjae!!" She shook him, slapped his face, but nothing. Tears were now streaming down her face. She looked for a pulse, anywhere. But in the end, couldn't find one. She hunched over the lifeless body, sobbing uncontrollably. She held on to his body like her life had depended on it. She cupped his face and tried to get a clear look at it through her tears. She noticed a bullet hole going straight through his forehead. More tears rushed down her rosy cheeks as she stroked his face Keeping his body close, she just knelt there on the ground. Hoping this was all a dream, that she would wake up and see Youngjae's face waiting for her at the end of the stairs. That their mom would be in the kitchen, Nibbles on the counter. They'd eat breakfast like they always did before school. Youngji closed her eyes, hoping that when she opened them she would be in bed. Raising her head, eyes still closed, she released a breath she didn't know she was holding. Opening her eyes, she looked down only to still have her brother's cold, lifeless body in her arms. It began to rain, but she made no attempt to get up.

"Come on. We have to get going if we're going to get out of here alive," Taehyung explained. To be honest, she had forgotten that he was there. It was just her and Youngjae, but then she remembers that Taehyung was the one who shot him. She chuckled, "Why would I go with you? You just kind of killed my brother, you know, in front of me!" He walked towards her and grabbed onto her arm, pulling her up in one go. If looks could kill, Taehyung would be dead with the way Youngji was glaring at him. "He already spread the sickness." Taehyung looked towards her classroom. At this, Youngji stared at him with wide eyes. "What do you mean he spread it already?" He looked back at her with a serious face. "Exactly what I said. Why do you think he was all alone over here? Because he already killed each and every one of your club members, including your teacher." Youngji looked into Taehyung's eyes, and could tell right away that he was telling the truth. She sighed and looked up towards the sky.

"This is the world we live in."
