It is the serpent
Slithering in the night
Keeping it contained
Protects you from the fright
But if you let it strike
Your fears, then dead, will lie
It’ll swallow them with you all whole
Then slither right on by
You have a right to fear it
The news it brings is dire
For no one can escape
A deadly forest fire
As a disease
That’s making you forget
All of your sweet memories
Drown in a smoky pit
You try to fight against it
But it has too much power
With all those years forgotten
You only cry and cower
Losing your entire home
Will make sadness transpire
For nothing is as devastating
As your house catching fire
It forms the plague
That devours the city
In order to restrain it
You must be smart and witty
The more you let it drink
The more it seems to grow
Water doesn’t harm it
It won’t stick to stasis quo
The greatest battle tactic
Every person must admire
Strikes fear into the heart
As one tries to stop Greek fire
Yet also like your mother
Who keeps you safe in love
Warming you in her arms
A tender gift from above
If her glowing nature
Helps guide you on your way
She’ll gladly stay right by your side
Lighting your every day
She will be there when you need her
And give you a desire
For nothing can consume the soul
Quite like a candle fire

Description:
This is a poem comparing fire to different things all of which are bad until the end when we see a different side of fire. Tell me what you think and ask me questions about the meaning! I'm ready to answer!
