I Smile

I smile because sometimes...
I just don't want anyone to know I'm hurting.
I smile because sometimes...
I just don't want to feel upset...
I smile because sometimes,
I want to be happy.
I just want to feel what comes with it.
I don't want people to know,
That deep inside,
The pain is still very much alive.
I smile,
Because I want people to know that I'm okay.
Because I don't want people to worry.
I smile...
Because when I do...
The pain just doesn't seem real anymore.
When I smile,
It seems to melt away.
And when you smile back,
It doesn't return so quickly.
