i stand,
clothed in uncertainty
and a trace of doubt
(also known as my underwear)
watching warm water
flee cold metal
and embrace my skin
(slip through my fingers, sad showerain)
praying emotion will
wash away and leave
this flesh be
(still hope remains)
no tears, so
no outward sign
of suffering
(i am mute and incapable of grief)
my wet skin weeps.
you ignore and pretend
i'm not who i am
(let us drink to denial)
choking from too much
everything
i stand, you turn away
(we shall feast on denial)

Description:
odd as it may sound, this poem was inspired by my taking a shower in my underwear. *^_^* it's an unusual sensation... a futile attempt at concealment in a place where you're supposed to be fully exposed, even if no one is there to see you.
*shrugs*
my mind is odd. - Date: 12/03/2008
