He kissed me
with a giddy-happy hiccup
and I thought maybe the world would stop
like they say in books
or in movies
but it didn't.
So I kissed him
with a sleepy-smiley breath
and a squishy tongue
that pressed softly against
his sometimes chapped lips.
His palms were
bigger than mine,
fitting perfectly
around my small hands
and cupping my cold fingers.
When his big palms
crept up to my stomach
I wasn't scared or nervous
it was new
and I was okay.
So his big palms
and chapped lips
and squishy tongue
and laughing chin
were good friends with mine
just like they were meant to be.
And we kissed
with hush-quiet murmurs
and giddy-happy hiccups
and sleepy-smiley breaths.

- Title: Giddy-Happy Hiccups
- Artist: rickety rackety
- Description: A poem about a first kiss. It's not stupid and sappy, it's not emo and unrequited, it's real, and it's life. I honestly do want opinions on it though, so if you post a critical comment, please make it constructive. Thank you.
