Once I picked a flower, and placed it in a vase
Condemning it to a slow death, on show for all who passed
“Oh what a lovely flower”, you could hear them all exclaim
Though you’re dying right in front of them, they ignore your pain
We’re blind to your suffering and your high pitched screams
Pleading for the torture to end, so you can be as peace
The days just crawl on by, and you lose your hope
Dropping all your petals, how did you expect to cope?
Did you think that they would listen, when you looked so fine to view?
And yet here you are, fading away; no they never knew
As one last try, a dying wish, you push away your seeds
Sighing as they catch a ride, upon a friendly breeze
They will join the earth once more, although you’ll never see
Yes that was your story, a flower’s legacy
