MY BEAUTY
by UC Poika
I've seen you on the street and in all the stores
or sitting in your car at the semaphore
you smiled at me when I was seventeen,
and blew me a kiss when I was twenty-three
and I thought of dating you at thirty-two
though I was going with someone else in truth
and at forty you were on my mind a lot,
and I would have gladly been a fire to your moth,
but when my hair turned gray but left me young
your manners seemed stranger than all earth's tongues
you barely looked instead of looking bare
you never smiled, it seemed you never cared,
but worst of all it seems to me sometimes
you walk along with me now but you're not mine.
