Her eyes remind me of flowers,
dancing in the sunlight.
In small sections of the deep jungle.
Wind and rain fall on the leaves above
flowers.
And slowly fall on to the petals.
The ground below them, absorbs the
rain.
Feeds the flowers
So they have more energy to dance
more in the day.
But in the evening, when everything is quiet.
They look up at moon and the stars,
humming a cheery song.
Before the next day begins again
With those eyes I know, nothing is
wrong with her.
But as I stare at her, through the small window.
Into the room, that keeps her from hurting
others or herself.
I wonder....
"why, her of all things?"
She looks so peaceful, lying on the floor.
I want to know...
What's going through her head right now,
Who is she thinking about and why???
As I begin to walk away
I hear her scream !
I run back to the window
There she stands at the window
looking out and into my eyes
Her flower like eyes..
Don't move.
I can't look away
For it would hurt too much.
Her eyes lead an lifeless world.
And enter my thoughts.
Searching but, never finding.
I stare for a long period of time
She blinks and turns away
I fall to my knees
As if she has taken my own soul away
and is to never give it back
Her eyes aren't flowers dancing in sunlight
Nor are humming a cheery song
to the moon or the stars
But thy are bones and skulls
hiding from the patches of sunlight
in the deepest shadows of the jungle.
They are screaming at the moon and the stars to
hide behind the clouds.
I lie motionless on the floor.
My eyes stare at the ceiling
As no one comes and helps me.
I see her walk out of her room
Walk, down beside me.
Grin, and kiss me on my forehead
And walk back to her room
As if nothing has happened.
I slowly disappear from the sight of
others.
As if I was never there in the first place.

- I've had something like this happen to someone I knew...twice! Very nice poem however, 5/5.
