Such Cherished Feelings...
How can I bring myself not to love thee?
Endless rivers flow with intense force, greater than any others.
A force driven solely by one’s heart’s desires.
So why is it thou cannot see?
Are such cherished feelings so opaque they go unnoticed?
My heart beats only to complement thou,
For if thy steady drum stopped,
My chest would throb.
When silent tears crawl down thy cheek,
The same tears fall upon mine.
If a slip of paper cuts thy flesh,
Scarlet blood ripples across mine.
The angels look upon us in envy,
For even this one-sided love is worth jealousy.
But even as she walks down the aisle clad in white gown,
But even as you await her,
But even as I wish your love’s prevail,
I cannot put these cherished feelings to rest.
