Outside I watch,
As the leaves dance among the wind.
Such simplicity they have,
But then again such beauty they own.
The stars, sparkling against the velvet sky,
Make me wonder how they got there.
But then I find out that is not important,
I just gaze up at their beauty.
This is a poem that was an assignment in social studies class.
We were learning about Ancient China, and we were talking about Li Bo one day, a famous Chinese poet.
We were reading one of his poems, which was about nature.
So, we had to write our own poem about nature.
Mine talks about 2 of my favorite things in nature, the stars & the leaves.
Later on,my Language Arts teacher looked over everyones poems, and was going to submit some into a contest.
Well, me & 2 of my friends were chosen, then they had to decide a winner.
I had WON ! (:
I went to a showcase a few months ago,and May 3rd I'm going to the actual awards ceremony.
So, thought I'd share my winning poem with you!
& I haven't posted anything in a while,
I believe I have a case of Writer's Block D:
