• In the mystical air of the moonlit glade,
    Beneath stars in the sky that will not fade,
    A creature alone moves swiftly by,
    In one quick leap takes to the sky,
    Its movements gracefully begin to slow,
    As it looks into the forest below,
    A piercing neigh breaks through the night,
    And quickly it descends its flight,
    Down below in the shadow of trees.
    Beneath its hooves a badger flees,
    A girl there sits alone in wait,
    Wondering silently of her fate,
    The creature lands by her side,
    The girl stays quiet and tries not to hide,
    For standing there, an amazing sight,
    A unicorn of which will bring no fright,
    They have met before,
    Who in the world could wish for more,
    The girl is not a pure kind soul,
    In her heart He left a hole,
    Pained and lost she’s all alone,
    At her thoughts she sobs a groan,
    The creature is her only friend,
    His mission for her heart to mend,
    Impossible mission that will cause more hurt,
    The girl breaks down and falls to the dirt,
    She’s here for goodbyes,
    To forget all the lies,
    He’ll never come home,
    No longer life can she roam,
    To live life is the hardest part,
    Not just at death but from the start,
    Death is easiest, that’s her path,
    To escape those who see pain and laugh,
    What more can one world bring,
    Like a grounded bird with a wounded wing,
    She flutters helplessly on the floor,
    Wishing for pain to come no more,
    Her unicorn friend will not leave her side,
    He’ll always be there for her to confide,
    Together they will wander the darkest path,
    He’ll fix the heart now torn in half,
    Saving her from his sad fate,
    For the creature was Him as of late,
    To break her heart was not his hope,
    So now he struggles to help her cope,
    Life cannot break apart,
    The love deep within a heart.
