There was nothing in sight But memories left abandoned There was nowhere to hide The ashes fell like snow And the ground caved in Between where we were standing And your voice was all I heard That I get what I deserve
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁Where am I? Great Hall - Ravenclaw Table Who am I with? Elliott What am I doing? Taking a seat What am I thinking? Don't let me think about this... Who's Important to me? Elliott Holt What am I wearing? Seventh Year Uniform▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
Jesse blinked as he heard Elliott's statement, part of him wanting to disagree vehemently, while the other part of him was agreeing that a breath of fresh air sounded wonderful. He could easily recognize which part of him wanted to stay though. That was Pancras, he thought. Pancras, who had been taught that running from any situation was a mark of cowardice and that appearances should always be maintained. Jesse wanted to escape, the kid that had been in one too many bad situations and knew that if he stayed, something bad was going to happen. He didn't know what, but whatever it was, it was going to be bad, and it was going to rip him open worse. He wasn't even looking toward the Slytherin table now, knowing that whatever he saw there was going to be hate and disgust. After all, why not? He was the disgraced son, the one who wasn't good enough. Right?
He stood abruptly, not taking Elliott's hand and instead holding his chin high, daring anyone to say anything. Whether Hamilton or the first year or anyone made a comment about his abrupt departure, he didn't care. He wasn't going to care. He refused to care. He.... He lost that train of thought, and a bewildered look crossed his face as he wondered why he was standing in the middle of the Great Hall. His mouth opened, eyes immediately searching out Elliott and noticing his extended hand. He grabbed it, thinking that he might have been squeezing it harder than necessary as he tried to regain his train of thought. Elliott was his anchor though, he reminded himself. Nothing bad was going to happen while he was with him. However, he knew he needed to escape, and strode toward the entrance, ignoring the looks he must have been garnering from everyone else. He didn't care, though.

Liam approached the Ravenclaw table, doing his best to hide the slight limp that he had been cursed with over the summer. While the nurse at St. Mungo's had assured him that any physical symptom from the break—aside from a narrow, trench-like scar on his right shin—would be gone within a week, the boy couldn't help but feel rushed for that day to come. Without making eye contact with a single soul, he slipped into an empty seat just moments before the headmaster gave his annual introduction, cringing from the pain in his abdomen that he had opted to let heal on its own after his ribs had been mended. He had managed to miss the majority of the sorting ceremony, giving cause to an unusually furrowed brow.
A strong urge to turn around and find where Savannah was sitting tried to manifest itself, but after intentionally avoiding her on the train, Liam countered that desire by reaching for a warm biscuit and distracting himself with his butter knife. Something inside him knew the Slytherin would be able to read right through his well-played facade, and he was unsure of how much she would be able to gather from what she saw. Needless to say, it was a risk he was determined to avoid, or at least delay for as long as possible. Perhaps after his body was back to normal, she wouldn't have anything to question. Or maybe his growth in height and muscle alone would be enough to entertain her wandering mind.
The taste of hot food momentarily captured his train of thought—it had been at least two full days since he had eaten. As his lean fingers closed around the base of a goblet half full of pumpkin juice, his frosty blue gaze caught sight of the quidditch captain. After a brief hesitation, he swallowed the last of his food and chased it down with a mouthful of liquid. His father had made it clear—he would make it on the Ravenclaw quidditch team, and as a result, the only thing Liam could think to do was to skip tryouts altogether. Quidditch was one of his strongest passions, and just the thought of missing out on practice alone made his stomach churn, but no matter how he turned the problem over in his head, he couldn't reach a conclusion that didn't involve giving it up. With a stern face and unseeing eyes, the eagle downed the last of his drink and left the table, uncertain of his final destination as he made his way to the entrance of the Great Hall.

Location: Ravenclaw Table Grace knew it was probably a surprising that both her sisters were in the music club and she herself wasn’t. She was more the type to curl up with a good book or get her sisters to play wizard’s chess. Though, that didn’t mean that she didn’t like music. “Yeah, I guess you could say that. Mira likes to sing, and Leo she can sing too not to mention play a little guitar and piano. My cousin sort of started it when she learned how to play Guitar. She originally left the music club to my eldest sister.” She explained. “As for me… I’ve never took the time to learn an instrument. I suppose if I tried I could certainly pick it up. Though, I do enjoy music. I mean who doesn’t?” She added knowing she should have joined in with the family love of music. “That is true.” Grace agreed. Though she couldn’t say she had a close friend that she did odd things with. She considered Selina the closest friend she had but sadly it seemed she never had time for her. At least that’s what she figured the problem was. She couldn’t blame it on Selina dating Layton, that wouldn’t be fair to her. Speaking of her the prefect herself joined the two. When Grace heard that Fianna was a late bloomer she smiled. “Better to be late than never, not that I’m saying never is a bad thing, it just makes things harder for some people.” She said trying to be honest but not sound like one of those purebloods that were against squibs. She wasn’t like that at all. She just knew that some people didn’t have it easy in a world full of magic when you didn’t have magic yourself. At the sorting came to an end and the feast begun, Grace listened to Selina talk about how she didn’t have the chance to have any fun over the summer. “My summer wasn’t overly interesting either. I spent most of it studying for OWLs. Though my cousins had a major blow out at the family reunion so that was at least something. Not sure what it was about exactly but hopefully they work things out.” She told them with a smile before taking a bite of chicken she put on her plate. As the feast came to an end, Grace waved her friend off. She had prefect duties to do and she wasn’t going to stop her. Besides who else was going to take the first years to the common room. Made something better, he kept it for himself. I'm not that stupid, I just need a lot of help- To understand how stupid you really are. Down at the bottom of the ocean, I lay down; Nobody's coming; just continue to drown. And no one here could ever stop my ruin now. And I know I've got a lot to fear; you'll get me out... Oh, God, just get me out of here. α и т ı g ø и e ¢ α š š ı ø ρ e ı α ł ı ł ł α и т ı и e яανeи¢łαω │ fıfтн чeαя │ ρυяeвłøøđ │ še¢øиđ вøяи
Anti was as thrilled to be going home as ever, which was to say, not thrilled at all. After the disaster the previous summer had been, she wasn't sure how this one could possibly top it, but she was positive her family would find a way. All she could keep telling herself was 'only two years left'. This summer she'd turn sixteen and then next summer she'd be seventeen, and she would be done. The thought was still a fledgling in her head, but she couldn't... she couldn't stay, could she? That would defy all logic. As terrified as she was to step out of her parents's shadow, she was even more terrified of staying in it. Especially given what had happened after her half cousin's wedding. That being their dinner guests shortly before she and her brothers returned to school. Anti wasn't stupid. There was only one reason they would have had another pureblood family who happened to have son two years her elder as guests. Said son had not been in attendance, but his parents had mentioned him, often. And her parents had smiled and continually glanced at her over the course of the meal. What had bothered her the most, she found, was that she could still be sent to bed after dinner like a child with Cyrus while Evander and the adults remained and presumably plotted her marriage. Nobody's daughter, she never was, she never will- Be beholden to anyone she cannot kill! You don't understand how damaged we really are. You don't understand how evil we really are. And I will dig my own grave, yeah... I'm misbegotten; I am the last one you save here. Of course I'll sleep forever and forever; Anesthetize all your horrors away.

xxxxxMordred Taylor Seftonxxxxx 3rd Year Ravenclaw ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Another year, and unfortunately another summer. His parents were finally getting married. Kill him now. He swore if he found out he was going to have a younger sibling he would off himself. He pondered if the fact his father was finally marrying his mother meant that he would no longer be considered a b*****d. Sighing, Mordred took a seat at random at the table and tapped his fingers as he scanned the Great Hall wondering if he should have sat with the Slytherins as the people he spent the most time with (Gia and thus Carver) would be sitting over there.

Di had considered her second year as having gone fairly well, all things considered. She had tried out for the Quidditch team and been made a reserve, and had even gotten to actually be a chaser during one game, even if she hadn't been all that... good. And she'd continued to enjoy all her classes and she had an actual group of friends and really, she was a bit dismayed to be going home. Everything seemed to have gone by so fast. And to make matters... well, not worse, but not really better, Isolde was pregnant. Again. The baby was due in October, and she'd just gotten a letter this week. It was apparently a boy. Her stepmother was muggleborn and generally seemed to insist on muggle healthcare, not that Di blamed her for that, so ultrasounds were the norm. It wasn't that she was so miserable at the prospect of another half sibling, but it would mean more kids in a house that was in her opinion already full of kids, and her father and stepmother would be caught up in planning for the new baby all summer. She foresaw a lot of babysitting in her future while they went crib shopping and whatnot. Heaving a bit of a sigh, she sat down across from Mordred, who didn't look too pleased himself. "Looking forward to the summer holiday?" Her somewhat heavy tone implied that she wasn't about to eagerly board the train. Chasing the fire for you, light in the nightmare- Watching from high above you... If you can make it, then the sun will rise! It doesn't matter if you closed your eyes! xxxxxMordred Taylor Seftonxxxxx 3rd Year Ravenclaw ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Soon Mordred was joined by someone who let out a sigh, one that was very similar to his own. He looked up to see Di who sat across from him and gave a nod to her and a small smile. When Di asked about her summer, not sounding thrilled about the prospect herself, Mordred let out a long sigh, "Not really. My parents are getting married... I suppose I should be." Shaking his head he looked to Di and asked, "What about you? I detect more of a sigh from you about the prospect of summer than is socially normal."

Di raised an eyebrow in sympathy. "That's unfortunate." Obviously it wasn't very polite to say that upon hearing news of a marriage, but she knew Mordred couldn't stand his father, so this couldn't be pleasant. Her father had remarried when she was three or four, so the brunette had maybe one or two vague memories of the actual wedding. She had been a flower girl, she knew that, and her mother had let her take off her tights and shiny new shoes and run around barefoot in the grass during the reception. However, Di had no idea how she would have reacted had Tad been remarrying now, after Mum was gone. She suspected her and Isolde would have gotten off to a far rockier start, as much as they might squabble now. "Are they just signing some papers in front of witnesses, or is it going to be a massive ordeal?" she asked, hoping that for his sake it was the former. Honestly, it might have been better off if they'd done it while he was in school, but she supposed his mother probably wanted him there, and you couldn't fault the woman for that, even if you could probably criticize her poor taste in men. "I try not to worry too much about being considered socially normal," Di said, rolling her eyes a little, but traced the edge of her empty plate with a finger. "My stepmother is pregnant again. They told me when I came home for the Easter holiday. I'm going to have another half-brother in October." She glanced up at him, and looked somewhat sheepish. "I probably sound like an awful brat, but my dad and her will be preoccupied with that all summer, and the house is mad enough as it is with my siblings already, and I just..." She trailed off, shaking her head. "It's just I'll be thirteen years older than this baby, and I'm already ten years older than Lena- she's the youngest right now- and I don't even think she knows I'm her sister, just someone who lives with her over the summer." Di loved her siblings, but they certainly hadn't grown closer now that she hadn't been around them all for the time for two years. By the time the new baby was even five she'd be graduated and most likely moved out. It was jarring to think about. Chasing the fire for you, light in the nightmare- Watching from high above you... xxxxxMordred Taylor Seftonxxxxx 3rd Year Ravenclaw ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "Indeed," Mordred remarked dryly, "It takes talent to make two families unhappy... well at least my Mum is happy." He rolled his eyes and then sighed when asked about the details. "Somewhere in the middle. I get to be ring bearer. Apparently they didn't get the memo I'm not six." He said and then listened as Di shared her own plight. He shook his head, "You don't sound like a 'brat' at all. I know I'd be horrified if my parents decided to have another kid at this point. I mean it is a little different since at least your Da and stepmother sound alright but a house full of kids..." He smiled, "I like my quiet and peace too much for that." Tilting his head he asked, "Any good coming this summer for you at least? You get to start electives next year..."

Di giggled at his dry comment, reflected that her parents had certainly managed that with their divorce. Taid would still rant about it, given the chance. Her eyes widened when he admitted he had to be the ring bearer, and couldn't help herself. "I'd 'lose' the ring. I had to be a flower girl when Tad married Isolde, but I was four." If asked to perform that position at age thirteen, or fourteen like Mordred was, she was fairly sure she'd rather have teeth pulled. She had her pride. "At least it's a boy," she conceded. "I already share a room with a nine year old and a three year old at home; Mad gets one all to himself because he's always been the only male child. Not any longer." It was ridiculous; Madoc was seven, it wasn't as if it'd be inappropriate for him and Treva to share a room, they were thick as thieves to begin with. "I'll probably be babysitting for most of it," she muttered. "That or at either of my grandparents's; they always complain they never get to see me." She brightened at the mention of electives. "Yes, I can't wait! It was hard for me not to sign up for all of them, they all sounded so interesting... I'm most excited for Wizard Law, still."
