Without a sound a pair of white boots landed on the ground. Attached to these boots was the masked figure from upon the legendary clock tower. He stood with mask looking straight at the gates to Hogwarts and if one was around might have heard the sigh that softly floated from that mask. His neck moved next bending his head left and right with a few pooping sounds being the result. Shoulders arched and relaxed, back leaned forward, and fingers then stretched resulting in a few pops and cracks of their own. "Well then no better place to begin then at the front gate. Here we go," The voice that came out seemed distorted in some way and while it was most assuredly male the tone was not like any before it. With another sigh and then what sounded like a grunt of force the White Fox pushed off from the ground and toward the upper section of the front gate. He landed upon one of the jutting out stone faces and then again pushed off and bounded up the large gate until he cleared it and then was gone from sight once again. It was only a matter of time now before the White Fox encountered someone, and when that time came who could say the outcome that would play out. If it was a student, which given their vast numbers seemed the likely case, would the meeting be memorable or terrifying?

phinelia von ichvalfourth year - ravenclaw captain - ravenclaw quidditch teamhermes▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬“In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.” – Desiderius Erasmus “The haft of the arrow had been feathered with one of the eagle’s own plumes. We often give our enemies the means of our own destruction.” – Aesop “There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance.” – Socrates “If the brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple we couldn’t.” – Lyall Watson ╔══════════════════╗ The dusk was just now beginning its march through every particle of surrounding and presence when the two exited the stone walls of the castle. With delicate brush but heavy paint, the sky began to change and start awake. Fluttering its eyes and opening them to reveal the ready stars within. Feverishly flushing hue of the horizon stilling into biting passion of coolness. Clouds moving aside with winds' touch like curtains about to reveal the display so eagerly but on by nature - so often missed by those who always looked but never observed. The sight of promised rolling mist in the stretching Grounds, the slowly rippling and playing of the Lake's water and the sky in all its overwhelming extravagance took every breath from Phi. Awe filling the chasm emptied and putting stars of their own glimmer in her eyes. Holding tighter the rough and solid hand under her small palm, she pushed on. Pressing past bodies no longer circling them and now avoiding losing momentum to the masterpiece being painting in front of their human senses. A fiery head turned, brushing the curled whips of hair from her shoulder, and smiled dashingly to the strong man she had captured as was captured by. The object of her journey, the monument of their connection, erupted then from the horizon into view. She bounded for it, never stopping to be captured by the sights and the firefly stars - not yet. Without ever hesitating in her now-crushing hold on Colton Raines, she collected the skirts of her dress into the one free hand and began to climb the beast. Mounting and claiming it once more as the victorious hill. The rough and poorly-sanded face of rock and mesh of age crawling on her senses as she pressed herself closer to it. Burying into or managing a small cut on skin until she straightened herself atop the frozen creature, sitting just behind its horns Gleaming with features filled with childish passion and magic as she looked over her shoulder to the lion at her back. Allowing their fingers to slip past each other as her hand found his face and her lips his. Connected again and magnifying every happiness and hope in the flood that was this magnificent boy of Silver and Strength. Turning to face him while still possessed, knees touching and dress caressing him. Bunching around and tying them to one another, masks clicking and stars exploding just above their heads. "Colton," she mumbled against his lips tone heavy with the emotion dripping from it. Hand falling from his cheek and set jaw to the hallow of hi neck. Tracing the strength there, "Colton." Feeling every tensed tendon and anatomical binding of his muscular shoulders. Fingertips claiming them as words in her head appeared naming them. "Colton." His arms shivering under her and a similar touch of fire could not help erupt within her along side it. "Colton," The crook of his elbow, soft and vulnerable flesh. Protected by the muscle surrounding it, bending into it and becoming armour. "Thank you," Lips finally leaving his and tracing, ghosting over stone features to the spot of his forehead. Planting themselves there as her fingers gripped at his wrist. Memorising the rhythm of life just beneath it, all too vulnerable as well. She would be the armour for it, protecting it and basking in it forever more. Molten met silver and turned to sparks of life never before seen. Smiles stretching and overtaking any notion of any expression other than euphoria. Palm shielding the pulse, promising and encrypting it with every claim she had to it.╚══════════════════╝

It was clear to the White Fox that no more information would be forthcoming form this night. He had shown himself in a manner that allowed him to move freely and he had been only briefly considered during the masked ball. This would likely be the one and only time the White Fox would not gain a mixture of emotional responses from being spotted or upon revealing himself to a student. Now though he could begin to spread the ideas and talk of his presence, the questions and curiosities those students so enjoyed to ask and pass. Now though was simply the time to move on and retire for the night. He had slipped out of the party with ease, no one need know he had ever been or had ever left. His movements flowed with the crowd around him and coming and goings of so many students made leaving without any large sense of being observed easy. Now though he was back to his normal way of moving, quick and with purpose. From the large standing doors to the covering along the stone paths the White Fox moved with practiced motion and silence always present. Just as he had found a spot to begin his full leave he spotted out of the corner of his white mask two young lovers beside the gargoyle. He recognized the swan floating in the sea of red and once again though his face hidden a smile tickled his mouth. His right hand quickly went to his pouch and extracted his long staff. A quick spin to place behind his back the white robed wizard gave a low bow to the young couple should they have seen him, but mostly just to be respectful of their moment. His staff spun around and then hit the roof he now stood upon, and with what seemed like a simple push off sent the White Fox soaring into the sky and off deeper into the castle and soon lost within the deep shadows the night so readily provided.

яεġrετ┃яσι ♦ ғεαя┃яσι ♦ ταkε prιdε ιη┃яσιOn a mission to relive an old memory, the two swept out of the castle eagerly, only to be met by a sea of indigo skies—a canvas, scattered with a few thin, white wisps of dispersing clouds, and sprinkled with golden glitter—tiny stars speckled here and there, peaking out from behind the disappearing clouds to form a perfect masterpiece. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" It pleased Colt to see that Phi was enjoying the onslaught of dusk as much as he, and even more so that she so willingly pulled him along behind her as she dashed towards the majestic gargoyle. As they reached the feet of the towering beast, the Gryffindor helped her up onto the stone structure, smiling to himself at how easily he did so, despite her flowing gown. When she was safely seated, he pulled himself up in one swift move, sliding right up next to her and not hesitating to carry on with the inevitable. Without pausing, and before he had even noticed her hand approaching his face, Colton was already pressed up against her, one hand tracing the middle of her back and the other finding the back of her head, just in time to receive her lips with a hungry desire. With every second that passed, and every syllable that slipped passed their parted lips, gracefully forming his name over and over, Colt began to question whether he had ever had a better night, and if he would ever have one so great again. Began, only because she wouldn't let him finish—the feel of Phi's precious fingers tracing his body made his thoughts melt into nothingness, his heart triple its pace, his lungs unable to refill, and his body teem with the desire to never have to move again. Colton found himself gasping for air as her lips finally escaped his, walking slowly across his forehead as her fingers ran along the length of his arm, finally resting at his throbbing wrist. He knew she could feel it, knew she was well aware of his racing heart, but he didn't care one bit. She wanted him to know how he felt about her...wanted her to know, and to return the feeling. Pulling his head back so that he could see her eyes, he breathed in her sweet, delicious scent, and smiled at her with everything he had. "It beats for you, ya know," he told her quietly, his eyes gesturing to the wrist she still caressed. Slowly, he took her hand in both of his, flipped it over, and lifted it to his lips so that he could kiss the inside of her wrist. Closing his eyes, he rested them there, let them feel the repetitive flush of blood through her veins, like a pounding against his lips. "And I," he began, parting his eyelids and finding her gaze once more. "I live for you, as well." As if the words had been spoken by someone other than himself, Colton suddenly realized the truth in his words. Right now, with the stranger that thrived within him—the stranger that had stolen his life, only to let him borrow it on mere occasions like this one—the boy fully understood what it was that had kept him fighting, why it was that he was still here right now. "Phinelia, I haven't been fair to you, love..." His words were louder, and now made of wool, rather than velvet as they one by one dove from the tip of his tongue. "I had planned for this year to be our best ever, planned to make you happy for the decision you made, planned to make sure you never once found a reason to regret accepting me as your own..." he explained, his face crumpling up in both apology and pain as he spoke. "And my plans failed, as I'm sure you know. I am truly sorry for leaving you in the dark on so many occasions, and for making you guess at more than just my whereabouts. But I need you to know that, no matter what it might seem, nothing could matter more to me than you. I need you to know that...need you to remember it..." His voice trailed off into the soft night breeze as his eyes became unfocused and his hopes began to retreat, only to be threatened by that same piercing, unforgivable despair that seemed so able to devour him whole."The fool doth think he is wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool."- William Shakespeare

Demandingly echoing in his ears in their rebellion against what he had spoken. "No, do not do that to yourself." Flexing the fingers of the hand that was now in his grasp. The tips having become numb - frozen - the moment he kissed the inside of her wrist. As though that contact of different skin had sent flush and emotion straight into her veins and up to the very edges of all she was; the edges and connections of her mind to the fingertips and toes she now flexed as she continued, "I have never regretted anything, never even considered it!" the memento of her voice and growing power building with every hissed syllable, "You are perfect, you are allowed secrets and reasons and distractions." She smiled then, fondness for him filling her eyes like moving, liquid warmth. Lighting them like so many wax candles, and spreading to him. Permeating light too radiant to not melt the essence of the pain and sorrow and hardness it encountered on his mature features. Every intention set towards placing a new smile on his lips. "I trust you," she finally eased to the small space between them - one that had felt miles apart and now seemed a nuisance in its existence - "If nothing else, I trust you." Her eyes, too bright with unshed emotions clearly set on the molten, scanned and jumped to each of his features. Memorizing them and mentally setting them down into the softness she wanted to see again. Never did she want to see the misery that was hardened there now, she would never let it linger. Every time she saw it, she would chip away - she now promised the both of them - and each time it returned it would be lesser than before. Until it no longer existed on him, in his eyes, with his soul. Until it was only a memory and sunlight lived where there was once despair, and she would never let it return. "Silly little lion man," she mused quietly before sealing that silent promise with a kiss. Forcing his lips into a smile to match her own - one that felt all too permanent in his presence.╚══════════════════╝

яεġrετ┃яσι ♦ ғεαя┃яσι ♦ ταkε prιdε ιη┃яσιIt did not surprise Colton when Phi began to defend his honor, nor that she seemed truly offended that he would ever even think to put himself down. He knew that he had treated her less than perfect, although--in his defense--there had been an age old demonic spirit living inside of him since the first day of the school year, so he allowed the girl's words to comfort him some and to convince him that--at the very least--it wasn't his fault. However, to hear that Phi had not regretted any of the neglect he had supplied her with this year confused him some. Was she just saying that? Their entire fourth year, up to this point, had practically been spent with the two being separated at all times, and the rare occasions that he had been in her presence, he had either been half mad or half zombie. How could she not regret that? Finally, she explained. Of course she trusted him. Not only did she have the judgement of an eagle, but she had the heart of a lion, though Colton feared that that very well may be a danger to her. At the moment, he might want her to trust him, and want her near him, but he knew that, with Roi dwelling within, neither of those were good ideas--and were it not for his selfish love for her, perhaps he would not have succumbed to his burning desire to break the promise he had made with himself in attempt to keep her safe by attending the dance tonight. The molten stare that now attempted to burn down all of the walls of his fortress very nearly succeeded in trying. He felt himself coming unglued, and--although he knew the feeling to be false--he almost felt as if he were merely himself again, as if there was no demented spirit within him, or, at the very least, that Roi would allow him to explain his possession. Colton knew the thought was foolish, but he attempted it anyway. Letters could not describe the muffled choking sound that resulted, and is if in response to his ignorant efforts, the Ravenclaw teased him with playful words. If she only knew, perhaps she wouldn't be smiling. If she only knew, perhaps he wouldn't be possessed. The boy's hopeless desires were eagerly interrupted by a forceful kiss that washed all thoughts from the boy's mind, and made him wish that this night might last forever."The fool doth think he is wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool."- William Shakespeare

Both the carriage ride and The rest of the trip to tje.hogwarts entrance were as uneventful as they could have been. Perhaps it was because Vanessa had few friends so unlike everyone else she didn't have people to talk to during the journey. Sure she did have a couple of friends back in Grodric's, when she took the time to head into town, that was but for various reasons their parents had decided to send them off to schools besides hogwarts. And most of the slytherin quidditch team did know and talk to her but they were more teammates then friends. Smiling softly at the ground, the blonde adjusted her grip on her notebook, it was her 15th one she had been filling since she had picked up the habit shortly before her first year. The notes were always direct and she found them interesting. Perhaps after graduation she'd go through and sort the notes by subject, but that would still be two years off. Plenty of time.for her to consider the idea.

She hummed a soft melody under her breath as she slipped out the great double doors of the castle, thanking an upperclassman who held the door open for her on the way out as her skate shoes padded softly on the couple of stone steps that lead to the open entrance courtyard of the castle. She smiled, the winds curled around her and tousled her auburn hair and with the skies so cloudy she was forced to slip her red aviator sunglasses to the crown of her head to pin down her flowing hair.
She was squirming inside, only just a little. She’d managed to ask Cameron to meet her here, a little more than happy to note that Elli was a second year, and therefore had no idea of what was going on (unless she glanced out one of the courtyard windows along the castle walls.) Paranoid, Cersei glanced over her shoulder and washed her lilac gaze across each window, just to check, and just in case. But she decidedly couldn’t see any more than a blob with hair. Sighing, she bit her lip and twirled her hair in her fingers as she peered up at the clouds and waited, humming all the while.

"Hey, Cersei!" he called from a slight distance away when he spotted the girl with the auburn hair. wearing
