Alaric nodded, trying not to look freaked out. No matter how hard you try not to, you always end up like your parents. The thing Alaric had heard so many times echoed in his head until he decided it would be best to leave.
"I'm sorry, that's hard. I'm sure you won't slip. Anyway, I have to go finish my homework, so I'll uh...see you soon I guess." He waved and left, feeling a little ashamed of himself.

   ✺ The One I Love✺ Chaser✺ Werewolf✺ Gryffindor✺ Pureblood✺▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄Ⓡⓔⓜⓨ walked out onto the bridge, smiling lightly. It had been hell to bathe and get dressed with her right arm in a sling, but she had managed. She hoped Sam got her note, the one saying where she had gone. She usually loved house parties, but she was hurting and people kept bumping into her. Not that it was hard, what with the entire common room full of excited dancing people. She stared out over the lake, leaning her left arm on the wall of the bridge so she could lean comfortably. She wished her other arm would stop hurting, but it wasn't really a viable option.

She grinned when he held her in his arms, then blushed at his comment. She looked at him, her long hair catching the wind. Her gold eyes met his blue, bringing a stutter to her heart. "Hi Sam," she said, voice softer than usual, "I'm assuming the first is the blue eyes I see?" A soft lilt came to her tone as she spoke, cocking her head a bit.

When he said he'd broken a promise to her, she put her first two fingers on her left hand over his lips. "Listen to me, Sam Meridith. You didn't break any sort of promise. We've had an off-season, but we will make a comeback. We always do. A lot of stuff happened that was beyond our control this year, and it played against us. The only way you could break a promise to me is by giving up." Her eyes were bright, but she was serious. She promised him she would never give up, and hopefully, he promised the same. They were friends, teammates, and now a couple. She hoped he knew she meant she wouldn't give up on anything.

"I'm no better than any other girl," she mumbled honestly. She had never found herself to be beautiful, sexy, attractive, or any of the other things she heard people calling one another. All she saw in the mirror was a short, scrawny girl with lopsided pigtails. She could never compare with the rest of the girls at the school.
