“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

Whatever it was that Micha had found in his studio - or what was left of it. He wasn't sure since he hadn't gone in with him to look. Either way it must have been bad to scare him....or piss him off, Samuel couldn't really tell. Nor did he attempt to ask. It wasn't his place to know, not right now anyway. Starting the car, the engine roared to life. After buckling his seat belt he didn't wait long for the car to warm up. She wasn't a manual so there wasn't much point to it anyway. He glanced to Micha to see that he was ready as well, that same unknown expression painted across his face while he gazed upon his home as if for the last time. Knowing Micha it probably was. Samuel wondered if he hadn't offered the male a place to stay where he might go. Would he have ever seen him again? Or would they simply move on like two passing strangers in the street? He didn't want to know or think about it. Throwing the car into reverse Samuel sped away as fast as legally possible from the males house. He watched as it slowly shrank in his rear view mirror before completely disappearing from his sight as he turned the corner. Samuel looked up and down the street as he merged into oncoming traffic.

The drive from Micha's house to his penthouse was a tad longer than intended thanks to the morning commute. They sat in lines of traffic at rows of lights for what seemed like ages. Nearly an hour had passed by the time they reached the bridge crossing into Manhattan. Samuel edged his way into the heart of the city before turning down a side street that was less congested. He did this several times on the way to his building before slowing down to pull into the garage and parking next to one of his other cars. Cutting the engine, he unbuckled his seat belt and looked to Micha. "Well this is it....home sweet home." he said, attempting to sound cheerful. Truth be told there was nothing cheerful about this situation. It was awkward and a little bit scary. Shifting in his seat, Samuel grabbed the laptop from the back and handed it to Micha. "Here you take this, I'll grab the bags." he said slipped out of the car. The door echoed loudly throughout the lot. Walking around to the trunk, Samuel pulled out the black garbage sacks, slinging one over his shoulder while holding the other as close to his body as possible so the bag wouldn't break. Closing the trunk with his elbow, Samuel waited for Micha to get out of the car and proceeded to lead him in to the lobby.

"Fear and anger were great allies of his. Micha had grown to hate fear and rely on it to give him strength. It would be no surprise if he woke up one day and decided to disappear after all he had already told Samuel the first morning they spent together, that if he wanted to he could. He didn’t have much to hold onto anymore, except for Samuel. Micha found he was his ground, his center. Without Samuel he would probably be lost. As Samuel pulled away from his house, he allowed himself to look away. He probably would never step in it again, if he had to go somewhere it would be his studio but only if he was desperate.

The drive to Samuel’s seemed quick, he barely noticed as time passed. He had been to content mostly in his own thoughts as Samuel pulled into the parking garage and parked his car. Micha glanced toward Samuel as he moved to turn off the car. He started to move as well unbuckling himself. Micha heard Samuel speak, nodding a little in return. It was true that this situation was a little different and scary for the both of them. He worried about the idea of staying here but tried to not it bother him. As he moved to open the door, he glanced to see Samuel grabbing his laptop. Micha took the bag from Samuel as he slipped out of the car. He shut the door behind him, as he slipped the strap of the bag over his shoulder. Micha winched lightly but dismissed the pain. He walked toward Samuel as he waited for him to grab the rest of his bags. Micha followed after Samuel as he lead him inside.
                                                          "

“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

Although he wouldn't be surprised if Micha were to randomly just up and skip town, he can't say that he wouldn't be upset about it. Despite their differences amd childish bickering over time he'd really come to love Micha. He was so different from all the other men he'd been with. He loved his smile, his teasing manner, even his crazy mood swings and cranky mood in the morning. To say the least Micha left he would not take it sitting down. While he remembered Micha telling him how easily he could disappear if he wanted, Samuel was both determined and confident enough to find him.

After grabbing the bags from the trunk Samuel waited for Micha to join him before showing him the way to the lobby. As they entered the lobby, the doorman gave him a curious look but didn't question him. Instead he merely greeted him as Mr. Davis and held the door for them both. Crossing the lobby, Samuel walked over to the nearest elevator. The lobby was bright and clean, filled with a couple of people coming and going about their day. A few minutes passed as the elevator soon chimed, announcing its arrival. The silver door slid open smoothly and let Micha go in first before following in behind him. Setting down one of the bags he pressed the button labled PH2. After another few seconds the doors closed and the lift began to rise. Unlike some of their other terrifying rides, the elevator was smooth and quickly rose floor after floor after floor. Samuel leaned back against the wood paneling, knowing it would take them atleast a full minute and a half to reach his floor. He glanced to Micha, he'd been quiet for awhile now. He wondered if he was feeling alright. Probably not. What normal person would?

The elevator chimed as they reached his floor. Lifting the bag once more he lead the way out and down the short hall to his penthouse. He fished his keys from his pocket and unlocked the door. The alarm blared as he opened the door. Stepping inside he left the bags by the door and went to turn it off. He came back soon after, taking his key out of the door and moving the bags out of the way and setting them in the living room for the time being. "Well this is it. Bedrooms are back there, kitchen is down the hall, laundry is right past it can't miss it, and there's a bathroom in each bedroom as well as one in the hall and one in the den. There should be some food in the fridge, plenty of toiletries in the bathrooms as well as fresh linens. Make yourself at home."

"Fleeing wasn’t on his mind at the moment; however it was merely a backup plan. He had no need to leave for now. Micha’s plan was to go with the flow of things. Right now, the flow was going as best as it could. He followed after Samuel with his bag over his shoulder. Micha dismissed the doorman’s odd looks when he was seen. He knew it only natural after all it probably wasn’t often Samuel had unknown guests over. Micha continued to follow after Samuel through the lobby heading toward the elevator. He wasn’t a fan of elevators but it wasn’t as if he could take the stairs. Micha slipped into the elevator as Samuel allowed him to go ahead. He moved toward the back as he leaned against the wall. Micha held onto the railing as he stood there. He glanced down at his feet, soon feeling the elevator rise as Samuel pressed the button to his floor. Micha could feel Samuel’s eyes on him as stood there. He knew the silence between them was weighing on both of them.

As the bell on the elevator chimed, the doors opened. Micha followed after Samuel as he led the way toward his door. He waited as Samuel unlocked his door. Micha followed in after Samuel as he moved to pull the bag off his shoulder. He watched as Samuel left to turn the alarm off then came back to shut the door grabbing his bags. Micha followed after him setting his bag down along with the rest of them. He listened as Samuel spoke mentioning where everything was. ”Thanks Samuel…for everything.” Micha spoke knew he didn’t have to let him into his life like this but he had and he was grateful.
                                                          "

Samuel leaned against the back of the couch as he explained the room of the penthouse. He made a mental note that he still needed to notify the maid not to come and give Micha the security code for his alarm. When he finished speaking, he looked to Micha to see if he had any questions. Instead, he was given words of thanks. Samuel smiled softly and nodded his head. You're welcome. he replied simply. He didn't bother making light jokes or teasing. Samuel knew that it had taken the male quite a bit of courage to allow him to give him a place to stay and ask for help today. It was certainly a big step-up from the man who just a few months ago would scoff at the very idea of being asked if he wanted some help. Samuel hoped that Micha would be comfortable in his penthouse as he knew his tastes were much different from his own. On the bright side the building had some pretty good security and didn't let just anyone in. He liked to think that Micha would be safe here. But he didn't want to jinx it.

"Micha had no questions really, after all this place was new for him. He was more into learning about it himself than ask. Micha learned long ago that if he did need anything Samuel would be there for him. He never enjoyed the idea of seeking out help; it always felt like a weakness to him. Micha was glad that Samuel was taking things easy with him. He didn't know what to expect in the next few days. Micha knew his father would soon be searching for him. His only hope was his dad's connections didn't extend to New York. He glanced around the living room as they stood there. Micha shifted a little as he stood there. ”Which bedroom can I use?” He asked wondering where he should put his things. Micha was a little unsure of everything at the moment. He wanted to get things settled before making any decisions right now. What he needed was some space, but also he couldn’t help but want to be surrounded. Micha’s mood at the moment was like a rollercoaster, he couldn’t figure out what he wanted. "

To be perfectly honest, Samuel hoped that Micha wouldn't have to worry about anything while staying here. His family, he was sure he could handle. But if Micha's father were to just show up out of the blue.....No. He didn't want to think it. This building was safe, a precinct wasn't too far, and to his knowledge the man still had no idea who Samuel was or what connection he had with his son. The optimistic in him liked to believe that Micha was completely and utterly safe, but the sad truth was that they had no idea. The conversation between them soon died and Samuel leaned against the back of the couch, watching Micha curiously as he looked around the living room. When he at last spoke all he could do was give a small shrug. "Whichever one you want. I usually take the one over there," Samuel paused as he pointed towards a plain white door on the other side of the living room. "But there's also one room past the dining room, another next to the kitchen, and a third next to mine if you want any of those. You can go ahead and check 'em out if you want." Smiling kindly, Samuel shooed the male on. Even if he decided not to take any of the other rooms, he might as well explore a little, get used to his new surroundings.

Micha wanted to believe he was going to be safe as well. He couldn't stand the idea of his father finding him. Micha didn't know what would happen if he did. He knew though if he did, Micha couldn't allow Samuel's safety to be put in jeopardy. Silence had spread between them, he couldn't help but break the silence. He watched as Samuel seemed to watch him. Micha listened as Samuel spoke motioning toward his bedroom. He nodded a little trying to decide which room he wanted. "I'll probably take the one by dining room." Micha spoke knowing the farthest he was away, the easier it would he wouldn't disturb Samuel if he got up in the middle of the night. He might sleep in Samuel bed but work was another thing. Micha grabbed his laptop bag as he started off toward the bedroom to look it over. "

Samuel wasn't too concerned about where Micha chose to sleep. Whether it was his room or one of the others, or even all of them, was totally up to him. He would try his best to stay over when he could but in all honesty he was going to eventually need to get back to the Hamptons and focus on his own work. He nodded quietly as Micha soon chose the room he was going to stay in and watched him pick up his laptop bag before walking towards it. Samuel bent and picked up the bag with Micha's clothes in and followed after him. The room was quite large with a modern design. It was a bit sparse of personal flare, but perhaps it was better that way since he knew this wasn't a permanent affair and also because he knew Micha had no need for too many material items. He set the clothes bag just outside the closet and went to make himself useful. Padding into the kitchen he pulled out a notepad and began writing down everything he was sure Micha was going to need to know while staying here. Things like the security alarm code, where the pool and gym where located in the building, the number for maintenance, and the number for security.

"Micha knew Samuel had to get back to his life. He couldn’t stay with him forever. Micha wondered if perhaps if he should move into another place after all it wasn’t as if Samuel would be here all the time. He didn’t want to invade but it seemed he might just be the only one. Micha tried not to think about it as he made his way toward the bedroom. He heard movement behind him as Samuel followed with his bags in hand. Micha entered the room flicking on the light switch. The room held no color really, it suited him just fine. He found the plainness of it ordinary and expected of Samuel. After all he had been told numerous times that he didn’t have the same passion for decorating as his co-owner of the club did.

He walked toward the bed as he set his laptop bag down. Micha thanked Samuel as he set his clothes next to the closet. He glanced to see Samuel leaving the room, probably to allow him time to unpack. Micha sighed softly to himself, a little unhappy though he would get used to it. He walked toward the closet grabbing a bag as he opened it. Micha grabbed out some of his clothes as he worked on hanging them up. He took his time as he stayed in his room working on unpacking. Micha didn’t feel the need to rush unless he changed his mind. He wasn’t sure what he was thinking yet. Micha’s mind was busy with thoughts of leaving and of his father. He half expected him to show up and hurt him again. Micha just hoped Samuel’s security was as good as he said it was.

Even if he wasn't around all the time, he didn't once consider Micha a burden. He welcomed him here because he wanted him here. Even with his work on the line he could still come over to hang out, he could still sleep over, and he could still come take him out for a night on the town. Other than Micha's address nothing was changing. As he stood in the kitchen he soon finished writing down all the things that he was sure that Micha would need. He stood there a moment more thinking if there was anything else the male would absolutely need to know but nothing was coming to mind. He looked up as he heard soft rustling coming from the male's room. Picking up the pen and paper, he came into the room, stopping at the door frame, and watching him pick clothes from the bag and moving to hanging them up in the closet. Samuel came in and sat down on the bed. "Here," he said, holding out the list. "I've written down the names and numbers for security and maintenance. As well as what days the garbage is collected, where the mail room is in-case you want to use the P.O. box here, and the alarm code." Samuel waited for Micha to take the notepad from him before releasing it. He wasn't sure if there was much more need for him here but he didn't see the male trying to get rid of him either.

Laying back on the bed, he continued to watch the male sort his clothes. He seemed really quiet today. It made him wonder if there was anything else that was bothering him. Something that he had yet to share with him. Samuel knew that he was acting brave, putting on that same cool, calm, and collected face so he wouldn't worry. But he could see through it. He'd be an absolute idiot to not notice how upset he was. He just couldn't figure out what it was. Micha had seemed to calm down quite a bit when they'd gone for breakfast this morning. What changed? He wanted to ask, but was almost positive nothing good would come of it. So he kept his mouth closed and watched, waiting, hoping he could help ease his tension and make him smile again. Even if it was just for a little while.

"MIcha knew that Samuel would never see him as a bother but he still couldn't help but feel that way. He didn't want to be in the way but he knew that Samuel wasn't likely to be here often. Micha would probably be by himself most of the time. He didn't mind after all he knew Samuel was a businessman and didn't have much time for him. Micha tried not to let it bother him. He knew he would have to find something to do so he wasn't bored all day. Micha didn't sit and wait well. He needed to do something keep him busy. As he worked on putting away his clothes, he heard a noise behind him as Samuel came into the room. Micha turned around to face Samuel seeing a list on a piece of paper he held out. He took the list and looked it over, "Thanks." Micha spoke setting it aside on the side table next to the bed for now.

He turned back toward the closet as he finished working on putting his clothes away. Micha noticed that Samuel hadn't left which he didn't mind. He could feel Samuel's eyes watching him almost studying him. Micha knew his behavior was off and it was probably obvious. He finished putting his clothes away as he turned his attention toward Samuel who was lying on the bed. Micha walked toward the bed then crawled across it making his way toward Samuel. He slipped closer toward him as he moved to lie beside him. Micha leaned up as he kissed him. "What are you thinking about?" He asked curiously as he wrapped his arm around Samuel's waist as he rested his chin on his chest.
                                                          "

“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

As he laid there contemplating what it was that could be bothering Micha, he soon allowed his mind to wander and explore more options. Though not far enough to send him in to a frenzy like he usually did. The only thing that was coming to mind was his house. There must have been something, or maybe he saw something? Perhaps his father left some sort of threatening message behind or some gruesome gift. All these thoughts and more kept him well occupied until Micha had finished hanging his clothes. It wasn't until he felt the bed shift beneath, did he leave his wandering thoughts to instead focus once more on the male. Samuel stilled as Micha crawled closer and laid down beside. With his eyes half closed, he kissed him back. His free arm moved to lightly wrap around the males' waist. Samuel wasn't surprised by the male's question. Never seemed to miss anything, his boyfriend. It was almost as if he could read his mind at times. Samuel waited for the male to make himself comfortable before deciding to answer him.

When he was all settled and comfortable, Samuel gave a light shrug. "World domination?" he said, avoiding the question at first to lighten the mood. He smiled at his weak attempt but didn't bother continuing with the pitiful tease. "I'm just thinking about useless things again. Things like....if I shouldn't bug you more and stick around here a bit. At least until you're settled in.....I'm also curious...about earlier. What happened back at your house? In all the time I've known you, I've only seen you that freaked out in the last twenty-four hours. Did something happen? Was it your dad? Tell me....please." Samuel's face was a picture of concern. He couldn't keep up the facade that he wasn't worried for the males' well-being. While he did think staying in his penthouse was a better option than some random hotel throughout the city, in the back of his head he wondered for how long? A part of him was still doubting whether or not his father would simply give up once he was given his money. He didn't want Micha to continue living in fear. But what could he do? He was just an ordinary business man, part of a well known family, with very little influence.

"It was true that there was something bothering him. He couldn’t help the fear that ran through him. Of all the things in the world, his father scared him the most. Micha had hoped he had gotten rid of him when he ran away but only his father would go through the trouble of finding him. He wasn’t worth the patience to be found, but his father wasn’t an easy man. Micha’s father was impatient and by all means a man with nothing to lose.

He wasn’t surprised to find that Samuel had caught onto his worries. Micha kissed Samuel feeling a hand slip around his waist. He pulled back resting his chin on Samuel’s chest. Micha watched him as he sat there. He smiled lightly as Samuel spoke, though knew that wasn’t what he was thinking about. Micha wasn’t surprised of Samuel’s question. He listened as Samuel spoke questioning him. Micha always hated his keen sense of his emotions. He sighed softly but more to himself, ”Of course it’s my father…My house is where I go to protect myself from everything and the one place I go to clear my head was ruined…He got to my studio…All my paintings were ruined…cut up and shredded…He could have messed with anything else…but no he had to touch my paintings…Nothing in the house I want anymore…” Micha spoke a little saddened by the idea of selling his house. He was likely to never turn not even to sign over the house to the new owners, everything would be handled through a realtor.
                                                          "

“Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."

Samuel could tell by the way Micha sighed that this was more than one conversation he didn't want to have. He couldn't blame him. It was raw, uncomfortable, and at this point far too real to even comprehend that all of this was even happening. But it was. It was and it couldn't be avoided for too much longer. They needed to have this conversation, to come up with some kind of game plan for their future. Micha's future. As fun as it was to make these things up as they went along, someone was going to screw up and someone was going to end up hurt. He was quiet and patient as he waited for the male to speak. When he did, he listened, allowing to complain as much as he wanted because none of this situation was fair and none it was his fault. Out of all the things that his father could of destroyed it had to be his art. The hurt in his voice just about killed him. Samuel gently rubbed back and kissed the top of his head. "I'm sorry." he said softly. He didn't know what else to say. There was nothing he really could say. Sure he could offer to buy Micha a new canvas and paint but that wasn't going to do much for his lost work. Samuel continued to run his hand gently along the males' lower back as they lay there. He soon fell back into silence as words failed him. At this point it seemed as though he'd done all that he could and offering to help any further would simply upset Micha even more.
