"The idea of moving did not thrill him. Micha was more interested in just lying there. Pain was starting to radiate up his knee and into his chest. He had broken his knee and at least a few ribs from what he was feeling. Moving slowly, he knew it would last long before Samuel got annoyed with him. He was doing his best not to put any pressure on his leg. Micha held onto Samuel as he moved along the floor, hoping on one foot to the door.

As they got to the door, Micha knew Samuel was over it. He stopped as Samuel spoke. Micha glanced toward Samuel as he spoke. He knew he was being slow, but he was doing the best he could. Micha barely had time to process before Samuel picked him up and carried him. He had no right to object but he was not in the least bit happy.

Micha held onto Samuel, slipping his arms around his neck. He did not want to be dropped, but worried he was heavy. Micha didn’t ask as Samuel would only dismiss him. He kept quiet as Samuel left his loft and went down the hallway to the elevator. Micha waited as Samuel pushed the button to open the elevator.

He was glad that the lobby was empty when they entered it. Micha didn’t need others to see his weakness. He was barely comfortable with Samuel seeing him like this. Micha didn’t like bringing Samuel’s into his problems.

Reaching the car, he shifted as Samuel set him down on the ground. Micha leaned against the car, holding himself up. He waited as Samuel unlocked the door then moved to slip inside. Micha groaned a little as the pain increased. He relaxed into the seat with his leg extended as he held onto his side. Micha thanked Samuel quietly. "

As much of Micha may have hate it, he couldn't convince him to put him back down. He wouldn't say that he was so much annoyed but concerned. It hurt him to see Micha in so much pain and didn't want to cause him anymore. Samuel held tight to the male as he lifted him off the ground. He had no problems carrying him and didn't think him to be all that heavy. He was a bit happy that the male didn't fight him and wrapped his arms around him. After helping him in to the car, Samuel went around to get in as well. Within minutes, they were hitting the road and on their way. As he drove down the street, he quietly heard Micha thank him. He nodded in response, concentrating on the road. Unlike when he was driving to find Micha, he tried to keep it within legal limits. He could still tell how much pain he must be in and weaving through traffic like a bat out of hell wasn't going to help matters.

As he drove further in to the city, Samuel pulled out his phone and looked up the nearest hospital. Now of them were his ideal choice, but he could worry about that later. Pulling up to a stop light, he paused the car. He scrolled through the list before turning to the male. A million and one questions were racing through his brain but he knew they could wait. None of them were as important as getting Micha the medical attention he deserved. The light soon changed and Samuel turned his attention back to the road. Following the map, he drove through one street after another. Nearly half an hour had passed before they were pulling up in front of entrance to the ER. Samuel pulled up just enough that he wasn't in the way of any oncoming ambulances. "I'll be right back." he said. Cutting the car engine, Samuel unbuckled his seat belt and went inside to find someone who could be of help.

"As Samuel pulled away from the curb on the studio building, he leaned back in the seat. Micha closed his eyes. He gripped the side panel of the door as he sat there. Micha didn’t know how long they had driven, but he was glad they when they arrived. He felt the car stop as they arrived the ER. Micha opened his eyes as he glanced around. He heard Samuel speak, as he nodded. It wasn’t as if he could go anywhere. Micha moved to unbuckle himself, as he waited for Samuel to return. "

Giving the male one last wary glance, he rushed in to the emergency room. The room wasn't too terribly crowded nor was it completely empty. Marching up to the counter, Samuel was able to grab the attention of the nearest nurse. It was then that he explained the situation as best he could without giving away too many unnecessary details. Nearly ten minutes later, the nurse he had spoken to along with two others were following him out the door with a stretcher. Opening the door, he allowed the nurses to take over. He watched as they carefully helped Micha out of the car and lifted him on to the stretcher. Samuel closed the passenger door and locked his car. He would move it in a minute. Following the small swarm of people back inside, he watched helplessly as they poked and prodded his boyfriend before taking him in to the back where he was halted. A nurse was kind enough to tell him he would need to fill out some paper work while they examined Micha. He quickly nodded and moved to find a seat amongst the other people waiting about.

After filling out what he could, Samuel returned the unfinished paperwork. He was assured that they could get the rest of the information later. With nothing else to do, Samuel went to go find a place to park. When that was taken care of, he went back in to the ER and took a seat, making himself as comfortable as best he could. All around him, people came and went. Names were called out, but he never caught sight of the doctor who went back with Micha. The longer he sat there, he more worried he became.

A couple of hours later, Samuel jerked awake as someone nudged him awake. Looking up, his face said it all. A male doctor explained to him Micha's condition and just how serious it was. He also explained to him what all they had done to the male and why just now he was hearing anything. When he asked about going to see the male, he lied and told the doctor that Micha was his fiance. A bit hesitant at first, the doctor eventually nodded and led him in to the past. They walked through hall after hall and up a few floors. It was like going through one of the worlds most confusing mazes. After what felt like nearly an hour, they finally stopped. The doctor opened the door and allowed him to pass. Samuel quietly thanked him and walked over to the bed. Pulling up a chair, Samuel breathed a heavy sigh. While he was glad to know that Micha was going to be alright. He knew it was going to take a while before he was allowed to leave. Until that time, he had no plans of leaving his side what so ever.

"Patience was not his favorite thing. He had little of it right now. If he had the ability to move, then he would merely run away. Micha sat there waiting for Samuel to return with some assistance. Some time had passed and he had closed his eyes again. He was growing tired as pain was taking over. Micha barely felt the sudden movement as he was pulled from the vehicle. He could feel hands grabbing and moving him around. Micha groaned at the feeling. He did not like unwanted hands touching him. Micha took notice as they moved inside, he glanced around keeping his eyes on Samuel. He did not like the idea of going back alone.

It appeared he did not have a choice as he was rushed into the ER. Micha didn’t have to wait long as a doctor was brought to his bedside. Other nurses crowded him, checking his pulse and starting IVs. Thousand of questions were asked, before the doctor was getting a second consult.

After an hour or so, he was being rushed into the operation room. His surgeries lasted six hours or so. Micha didn’t know he had lost track of time. He was unconscious as they put him into a recovery room. Micha lay there patched up with a cast on. He had internal bleeding, due to a punctured liver, damaged spleen, and a broken leg.

The room was dark and quiet as Samuel entered. The clock on the wall told him that it was well after midnight and morning would soon be upon them. Just looking at Micha was painful. He halfway wondered how many pain meds were coursing through his system to even stand it all. Leaning over the bed rail, Samuel pressed a gentle kiss to the males forehead before sitting down beside him. He was tired and ready to leave the hospital. But he wasn't going anywhere. Not without Micha. Like it or not, the male was stuck with him. Lowering the bed rail, Samuel folded his arms and laid his head down beside him. He wouldn't bother him now. He'd been through so much and deserved a good couple of hours of sleep. They'd been through so much in the last forty-eight hours, it was surprising either had any energy left. Closing his eyes, Samuel drifted off in to a light sleep. While he would have preferred to be in the bed with Micha, this was fine; so long as he was able to feel his warmth and know he was safe beside him. It was alright.

Two hours later, Samuel woke once more. The sun was just starting to rise and peak through the blinds. The room was still and just as quiet as it had been earlier this evening. Looking towards the male, he could see that his IV drips had been replaced and little things were moved. Sitting up, he stretched his tired limbs. Sleeping like he did, was doing nothing for his body. But he wouldn't leave. He absolutely refused. Samuel wondered for how much longer Micha would sleep. He wanted so desperately to speak with him, to hear his voice. Sighing to himself, he knew that there was nothing to do but wait it out. Sliding his hand across the bed, he covered Micha's hand with his own.

"The surgeries had gone successfully, as anyone could hope. Micha however was the least thrilled. He had woken in the middle of the morning. Micha felt movement and someone touching him. He nearly jumped as he woke to his surroundings. Micha didn’t remember much about earlier tonight. He looked around the room as everything seemed to flow back into his memory. Micha glanced down at himself feeling the pain in his arm from the IV and the annoyance of the oxygen tubes in his nose.

He couldn’t help the sudden fear overcoming him as he grabbed at the oxygen tubes ripping them off. Micha gasped as pain hit him from his sides. He didn’t know what had been done to him as he had slipped into unconsciousness. Micha grabbed at his IV’s trying to rip them out. He barely noticed Samuel sitting beside him in the chair. Micha felt the sudden feeling of anxiety take over, as he freaked out. "

Samuel was surprised when Micha suddenly awoke. But not as much as the way he woke up. Everything happened almost as quick as it had begun. He pulled away his hand when the male flinched at his touch and watched him rip the tube from his nose. The scared look in his eyes was not one he was used to seeing. He hadn't the foggiest what was running through his mind, but he knew it was good. "Micha....Micha!" he said sternly. Taking hold of the males wrist, he forced him to stop whatever it was, he was trying to do. The oxygen was one thing, but the IV's needed to stay. Samuel pushed the male back on to the bed and knelt before him. "Hey," he said more gently. "Look at me.... Do you remember where you are? We're at the county hospital. I brought you here after picking you up at your studio." He kept his voice low and calm, speaking in Micha's mother tongue in hope it might calm him further. He watched and waited for the information to sink in. After a few minutes had passed, Samuel rose from the floor. He gently helped the male back into the bed then moved to sit beside the male. "You've been out most of the night. After I brought you in, they took you in back immediately for examining and surgery. They said it's good that I got you here when I did otherwise who knows what could have happened." He gave a weak smile but it didn't touch his eyes. All night he had been worried for the male. And now here he was, awake and looking more terrified than a caged beast. Common sense told him that he should leave to go grab a nurse or doctor. But Samuel was worried. He didn't want to leave him alone, afraid that if he did he would just try to wrench out the tubes again and bolt straight for the nearest exit.

"Waking up in a hospital was his worst fear. He couldn’t remember the night before let alone the last twenty-fours hours. Micha felt Samuel grip his wrists as he went to pull at his IV’s. His eyes searched him finding no answers. He wasn’t even sure Samuel could provide them. Micha didn’t feel relaxed even with Samuel there. Hearing Samuel starting to speak in German, relaxed him a little, but it left him stiff. His hands balled into fists at his sides, as he shook his head. Shifting in the bed, he lied back into it. Micha watched Samuel curiously as the male moved to sit beside him. He glanced around in all truth looking for the nearest exit, but there was none. Micha pulled back a hand from Samuel, as he pulled back the blankets. He grabbed at his gown to pull it up, seeing the large patches of gauze covering his abdomen. Micha didn’t want to know what lay beyond them, as he shoved the gown back down. He sighed softly, ”I don’t remember.” Micha spoke softly looking at his hands, then realizing he had a cast on his leg as well. He wiggled his toes, feeling the pain shoot up his leg. Micha glanced back at Samuel, glad he was here with him, but worried too. "

Samuel knew the male not to like hospitals, most people didn't. But to see such fear and uncertainty in his eyes was heart wrenching. The doctors had told him that there was a chance he male not remember all the events of the last couple of hours. Something about it being common when the body went through extensive trauma - a coping mechanism as it were. Helping the male back in to the bed, he felt him relax a little as he spoke to him in German. It was the only thing he could think of that would help to take off the edge. Though it seemed it was all for not. He could tell the male was still looking around for an exit that could not be seen. Truth was, the exit from the room was actually around the corner behind the bathroom. But he wouldn't let him know just yet. It was important that he stay put and heal as much as possible before the hospital decided to release him. Samuel gave no reaction as the male released his hand and lifted up his gown to reveal his wounds. Samuel was quick to look away, having no desire to see such things. Though he was sure that one way or another, he would be seeing them in time. Since the doctor had warned him, it wasn't too surprising to hear that he didn't remember. Although Samuel did have to wonder just how much he didn't remember. Was it only from the last couple of hours? The last two days? Either way, he couldn't hide this from him. It would be more trouble than it was worth to hide the truth from him. Looking back at the male, he met his gaze and decided it was best to just fess up. "Feel free to stop me if you remember any of this but for the past two nights father has been beating you to a bloody pulp." Samuel continued to speak in the same calm tone he had been using earlier. He informed the male about how they had gotten in to a fight and split ways for the evening. He also told him about how his father had come to corner him in his own home, demanding repayment from some money that was stolen years ago. Unfortunately, Samuel was only able to tell Micha as much as he knew and what he had witnessed. So when he began to tell him about how he came to find him last night, there were plenty of blanks and more questions with answers he couldn't provide.

" The idea of escaping was hardly anything he was capable of in this position. As he took in the state of his body, he glanced to see Samuel look away. He didn’t remember much from the past twenty-fours hours. Micha didn’t even remember as Samuel told him, that they had gotten into a fight. He wasn’t surprised they had gotten into a fight, after all that was normal for them. However as Samuel told him about his father, the thought scared him. MIcha knew Samuel would never hurt him, so it had to be his father. He shook his head as Samuel spoke, telling him everything. ”I don’t remember seeing my father...or even our fight..” Micha spoke softly, as he ran a hand up toward his hair. He felt the short ends and pulled back. Micha hadn’t realized his hair was cut till just now. He tried to relax as he lay there, but he was still unsure about everything. Micha looked around the room, wondering how much longer he had to stay in this place.

If this were any other conversation in a whole other situation Samuel would probably joke about the male not being to remember. But now, it just wasn't the time. The more he spoke, the more he could tell that none of it was ringing any bells. His heart sank as Micha informed him that he didn't remember his father or even their fight for that matter. If he wasn't already feeling like s**t for being there with Micha, he certainly was now. Samuel started to look away before he noticed Micha run his fingers through his hair. He watched as an odd look of realization and uncertainty ran over his face. "Ah right......I forgot to mention. Your father decided you needed the most uneven haircut anyone's ever seen during your first fight. Your friend....Liam? I think that's his name. Said he fed you and helped fix up what was left of your hair." Samuel thought of saying more. He probably needed to say more. But at the moment Micha's doctor knocked at the door and stepped in to the room. "I see you've awakened Mr. Polzin. I trust your husband has informed you of everything that's happened in the last couple of hours since we admitted you. If you have any comments, questions, concerns, anything at all please don't hesitate to ask."

"The more he listened and talked to Samuel, it seemed the more something was off. He didn’t understand. It was times like these, he wished he never had. Micha watched Samuel sensing something was off. He didn’t know or understand what he had missed. Micha nodded slightly as Samuel spoke about his hair. He understood the need to cut it then. Micha hoped his memories wouldn’t be gone forever, at least he hoped he gain them back, even if there were parts he didn’t want to remember. Before he could speak, he heard a knock on the door. He glanced to see a man in a white coat enter, assuming he was the doctor. Micha listened to the doctor speak and was shocked by his words. He shook his head, as the doctor left to give them more privacy. Micha glanced toward Samuel, ”Anything else you’re leaving out Samuel?” He asked curiously, as he questioned Samuel. There was no reason to think they were married, unless Samuel had said they were. Micha couldn’t imagine it unless it was dire. He relaxed back into the bed, shifting a little in it.

Unlike Micha, Samuel wasn't at all surprised when the doctor had referred to him as Micha's husband. After all, he was the one who told the hospital he was just that before admitting Micha in to the ER. He gave a half shrug when the male questioned him. He should have seen that one coming. "Only if you're referring to that husband bit." he replied. When the male continued to stare at him he sighed softly. "I didn't think it was necessary that the hospital get the long version of what happened. It would just end up being too messy. Y'know, cops, probably lawyers, all that fun jazz. So when I admitted you, I told the nurse at the desk my husband got in a drunken bar fight. Not many more questions were asked, so far no cops, and they haven't bothered asking about filing any kind of reports." Samuel didn't really care if the entire hospital thought they were married. They knew the truth and that was what mattered. "As for why I told them you were my husband easy. Friends and unmarried significant others don't get to stay past visiting hours. Whereas family and spouses get in at any hour. I've been saying it over and over, and I'm sure you don't remember so listen good. I love you and I'm not leaving you. Got it?" After saying his piece, Samuel slipped off the bed and back on to the chair beside the males' bed so he could have more room to be comfortable. He stared back at the male, his face as serious as ever. He wondered if Micha even remembered their first time confessing their feelings to one another. Probably not. So he imagined it would be like hearing it for the first time all over again. Still, he wanted him to know how much he meant to him. He really wouldn't leave him so easily.
