Sɑɱυεƪ ᴊᴏᵴҥʋᴀ Ɖɑᴠіʂ “Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."
It was nice to see the male so happy. Day after day in the hospital it seemed like nothing could make him happy. Not the doctors, not the medications, the more they did their jobs the more agitated Micha seemed to become. On the one hand, it was very understandable. He was sure he would not want to be bombarded by strangers day after day, hour after hour, constantly asking "how are you feeling today?". He just wondered how much longer this good mood would last. In the past month, no one had been inside his home. There was no telling what sort of mess awaited them. He then wondered if it was safe enough for Micha to go home to? He doubted he would go back with him to his penthouse. Hell, after all this time, it was a miracle Micha even wanted to spend any more time with him. He'd practically glued himself to the males side after he was admitted to the hospital. Yet, he was still here. He must have been doing something right. As he turned in to the restaurant, he glanced his way as he asked his opinion. The males smile was infectious, and he found himself smiling as well when the male responded. Pulling into the nearest spot, Samuel parked the car and soon cut the engine. Unbuckling his seat belt, he stood from his seat and got out. Looking to the other side of the car, he thought to ask Micha if he wanted any help, but unsurprising to him, Micha was already getting out all by himself. Samuel shut the car door behind him and moved to make sure the stubborn man wouldn't fall over. He knew good and well that the last thing he wanted was to make another trip to the hospital so soon after just leaving that dismal place.
Once he was steady, Samuel shut the passenger door and moved aside to allow Micha to pass. Together, they walked towards the door, which Samuel held open, and stepped inside. A female hostess greeted them and asked the the usual questions - "How many?" and "Would you prefer a table or a booth?". Samuel let Micha decide on the type of table, and followed them both as they were soon seated. Taking a seat opposite Micha, he took the menu as it was given to him and thanked the hostess. In turn, she informed them that their server would be over for drinks in just a minute. When she left, Samuel opened his menu and began to scan the various lunch items.

"Stubbornness was something that came natural to him. He didn’t like the idea of being weak. Micha couldn’t allow Samuel to baby him. He wanted a chance to prove himself, that he didn’t need to be taken care of. As much as he loved Samuel, he didn’t need him hovering. The last few weeks in the hospital, it seemed Samuel didn’t want to leave his side. It made him wonder how his businsses were going. He could only imagine not so well, but he didn’t pry, or push Samuel away.
Once out of the car, Micha was able to stand on his one good foot. He still needed time to heal, but he was tired of the hospital. Micha was better off out the end. He was likely to go crazy if he continued to stay there. Micha took his time as he hobbled to the door with Samuel. Entering the restaurant, they were greeted by the hostess. He listened to her questions, opting for a booth with was more comfortable. Micha followed her to a corner booth, along with Samuel. He took a seat, adjusting himself as he set his crutches aside. Taking his menu, he thanked the hostess as he started to look over the menu. Micha already knew what he wanted, but found it was probably sensible to look first.

Sɑɱυεƪ ᴊᴏᵴҥʋᴀ Ɖɑᴠіʂ “Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."
It was true that while Micha was in the hospital, he had been avoiding work like the plague. Lucky for him, his business partner was a reasonable enough man to allow his whims and stay with the male for as long as he needed. Unknowing to them both, it would take an entire month. If he didn't get back soon, he wondered how much longer he could keep Alaine in his good graces. He was very soon going to have to get back to his work. No matter how much he put it off, his clients weren't going to wait around forever. But he figured, another day or two would be fine. It wasn't like this was the first time he left Alaine on his own, and the man was good for business. He wouldn't have made him his partner otherwise.
Samuel opened his menu as soon as it was given to him. He wasn't exactly starving but he could definitely eat. He scanned the menu items up and down for a few minutes. Once he made his choice he set the menu aside and sat back in his seat. He looked towards Micha and waited until he set his own menu down. "Have you thought about what you are going to do from here on out?" he asked, for what was probably the hundredth time this week. He couldn't help it. He wanted to be sure that his boyfriend had a stable plan in mind, as well as ample amount of income to carry out the plan. For a mind like his, it made no sense to go about life the way Micha did. It was both exciting and terrifying.

"Currently nothing was set in stone. He had no plans for the future currently. It wasn’t as if he had a place to work that wasn’t his house. Micha wasn’t thrilled by the idea of having his client come to his home. The idea was a start, but wasn’t going to happen. He much preferred his privacy, as compared to having others there. Micha knew he needed to find another work location, with his luck it would be another loft, but he couldn’t get that lucky. He wanted to take his time, after all it wasn’t as if he could stand on his legs longer than a few minutes to get around. Micha wasn’t comfortable enough to work yet. He needed time to heal, then he would figure things out.
Looking through the menu seeing Samuel had set his down. He glanced toward him hearing him speak. Micha shrugged slightly, his work life was something he hated to discuss with Samuel. After all he worried he wasn’t good enough at times, after all he was sure Samuel was used to someone who had a plan. He closed his menu already knowing what he wanted and set it aside. ”Maybe go on hiatus for a while...It’s not as if I can have my client come visit me at home.” Micha spoke as he glanced around a little. He wasn’t looking to discuss it after all he had been trying to avoid it.

When speaking about work, he understood it not fair to compare their own work lives. After all, Samuel's work was built on constant planning and sponsored events. While Micha, it seemed in his eyes, had more freedom with a devil-may-care daily schedule. This wasn't to say that the male didn't work hard, because he knew just much he did to put in the effort for every picture, every angle, and every client. Still, it was hard to deny that both their work lives had been put in a bit of a standstill. For Samuel, it was by choice, whilst Micha had no choice in the matter. What with his injuries, he would think him a fool to go back so quickly. Things like these took time, unless the situation were to turn dire there was no reason to start things back up this very instant. Samuel was merely curious if the male had given his future plans anymore thought. After asking the male again, he watched as he shrugged his shoulders and set his menu aside. When he spoke of his plans, he had to admit he was a little surprised, but in a good way.
"I think that's actually a really good idea." he replied slowly. "I mean what with this being your first day out of the hospital and all. It's probably for the best if you focus on letting your injuries continue to heal and do as the doctors told you. I'm sure your clients will understand given the circumstances." Samuel watched as the male seemed to be looking at anything but him. He wasn't entirely sure why, but it seemed as though he were avoiding something.

Micha knew that Samuel loved him, and he loved Samuel, but some days he wondered. Would that be enough? Love did not conquer all. He wanted to be the man Samuel wanted him to be but he still felt he was lacking. This past week only made him realize how much. Micha was merely a no one in Samuel’s world. If he hadn’t kept coming back to the club, he knew he would just be another face in the crowd.
Perhaps it was just Micha’s anxiety, but right now he wasn’t sure. He knew he couldn’t do much right now and it only left Samuel to watch him. Micha however didn’t need a nanny. He wanted Samuel to go back to work, after all his partner could only function so long without him. Micha just wanted time, and space right now.
Listening as Samuel spoke, he nodded. Micha was glad that he understood. He didn’t know what he wanted right now. Micha just wanted to take a break, from work at least for a short time. He need time to think of what he could do after healing. Micha needed to come up with a plan for work, and a few other things.

Sɑɱυεƪ ᴊᴏᵴҥʋᴀ Ɖɑᴠіʂ “Relationships are ropes. Love is a noose."
Samuel could tell that Micha was happy with what he said but it still felt like something was off. They had been spending an awful lot of time together. Maybe he was getting bored of him? Or what if he was annoyed with him for skipping so much work while he was in the hospital? Did he not want him there? He couldn't tell. As much as he ached to ask him what was wrong, he didn't want to turn nothing in to something. There was no doubt in his mind that Micha loved him dearly. But he knew how their attitudes tended to clash and they sometimes bickered like they'd been married for forty long, insufferable years. He was afraid if he pried, he might hear something he just wasn't ready for. And thus he remained silent. A minute later, their waiter came over, introducing himself and listing off the specials. Samuel smiled politely while he listened and soon ordered himself a grilled chicken sandwich with fries and tea with lemon to drink. He handed over his menu and sat quietly while Micha gave his own order and they were left alone. Once the man was out of sight, Samuel pulled the ashtray closer to him and pulled out a crumpled pack of cigarettes. Less than half the pack remained, he had another stowed away in the glove compartment of his car. So this was fine for now. Pulling out a single cigarette, he slipped it between his lips and lit the tip. Samuel left both the pack and lighter sitting in the middle of the table in case Micha might want one. As he sat back in his seat, decided it best not to worry too much. Things would find their natural rhythm again once they settled down again. Samuel would be back in his office or behind the bar at the club. And Micha, with time, would heal from his injuries, find a new place to call his own, and come stumbling in afraid a hard days work. It would be just like when they first met. He was sure of it.

"Accepting and being happy about the idea of taking a hiatus were two different things. He wasn’t happy but it didn’t seem like he had a choice but to accept it. Micha wanted things to be the way they were but he knew he would never get that back. He had to create something new, a new face for himself. Micha tried not to focus on the now, knowing it would only drive him crazy. He barely noticed the waiter had approached the table till he heard him speak. Micha glanced toward Samuel hearing his order. He already knew what he wanted. Micha waited for Samuel to give his order, before giving his own. He ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake.
After ordering, Micha handed over his menu. He thanked the waiter before he left. Micha glanced toward Samuel watching a he fished a half pack of cigarettes from his pocket. It had been about a month since his last cigarette as he hadn’t been able to smoke in the hospital. The idea of a cigarette brought out sudden cravings he had forgotten. He picked the pack up as he pulled one out slipping it between his lips. Micha grabbed the lighter as he lite the end of the cigarette. He set the lighter down as he slipped his fingers over the cigarette. Micha inhaled deeply, letting the burning of the smoke fill his lungs. He pulled it back from his lips, as he took a second, before exhaling it lightly through his lips. Micha sighed softly more to himself, as he glanced around the room before turning his attention back toward Samuel. ”So what are you going to do?” He asked curiously knowing Samuel had to get back to work.

In the entire month that Micha had spent in the hospital, his smoking habit had decreased significantly. Unfortunately for the both of them the hospital frowned upon smoking both inside the building and on the grounds. The only time he had been able to indulge in the disgusting habit was during the time spent in his car and at home, which wasn't very often. The cravings were a constant thing, but somehow he managed to ignore them with many cups of vending machine coffee and various snacks. Sitting back in his seat, he said nothing as the pack was plucked from the table and Micha took one for himself. They sat in near silence, both looking just about anywhere except each other. When Micha finally did turn to him, Samuel sat a little straighter. He wasn't surprised by the males question. It was quite fair to be honest. After all, he'd only asked the male the same question about a thousand times now. Exhaling slowly, he set down the cigarette and thought for a moment. "Uh well...for the most part, it's going to be business as usual. Even though I haven't been in the office, Alaine has been giving me daily updates on what's going on at work. He says the Bat Mitzvah went well, everyone who was scheduled this month has come and gone so we're still tallying up the numbers to see what sort profit was made from that. Also, I've gotta check in with that Paris client I told you about before. That should be coming up soon." he replied. Bringing his cigarette to his lips, he took another drag and held it as the burning warmth washed over him. Releasing the smoke a few moments later he looked back at the male, curious as to why he wanted to know. Was there some sort of reasons he wanted to know his plans? Or was he just making conversation?

"There was no reason for Samuel to worry about his questions. He was merely asking for curiosity sake. Micha had no real interest in what Samuel did, after all it wasn’t his things. He much preferred to keep their jobs seperate, which was another reason he turned Samuel down for jobs when they first met. As much as he would love to branch out, he wasn’t a ‘party’ photographer. He didn’t take pictures of weddings, as that was just as boring. Micha much preferred his own pictures of clients and the occasional model.
Seeing Samuel sit up straighter as he spoke, only peaked his interest more. He knew Samuel had to check in with Alaine, after all he knew he hadn’t lately, or if he did then he knew nothing about it. Micha cared less about Alaine, as he was not his favorite topic. To say the least, he had been jealous of their relationship in the beginning but now he just ignored that fact they had a relationship. It was for his own good anyways.
Nodding as Samuel spoke about his Paris client, he knew Samuel needed to check in with them. After all they were a big client, and Samuel as a businessman, not just specializing in the club area and parties. He slipped his cigarette back between his lips, as he inhaled, letting the smoke burn his lungs. Micha had to admit, smoking was something he missed. He pulled the cigarette from his lips, exhaling lightly. Micha smiled at Samuel, ”Mmm. Of course. Can’t keep the clients waiting.”/b] He spoke teasing Samuel lightly, knowing he had a job to do.

"Micha knew that work could not be talked about without including Alaine. He didn’t hate the man, after all he had never met him, he merely just ignored the fact he existed. It was harsh to say, but perhaps he was just jealous, even if he had nothing he be jealous of. MIcha preferred to keep the two separate and not even discuss him.
He didn’t mind Samuel having to leave for business. Micha knew it was expected after all the business wouldn't continue if Samuel didn’t keep up with it. He smiled as Samuel spoke knowing that his work was never completed, after all he knew that in the beginning when they first started going out. Micha nodded as Samuel spoke, ”Of course, that I understand.” He spoke as he grabbed his drink, taking a sip from it. Micha stuck his tongue out, ”Surprise me.” He spoke smiling at him. Micha didn’t mind if it was something cheesy, it was merely the thought that counted.

xxxLOCATION Manhattan xxxxxx FEELINGS Mellow.xxxxxxxx
It had been about a month since Liam went on a short vacation. He had gone back home to Louisiana to visit his family. Liam’s grandmother had gotten ill and the family was worried about her health. During his stay she had taken a turn for the worse and passed away. He had been close to his grandmother, which hit him hard. It wasn’t something he was expecting. Liam had taken an extra week to help the family get his affairs in order and lay her to rest. She had been wanting to be laid to rest next his grandfather.
He had returned early this morning to New York. Liam was in a better mood than he had been in a few days. He was happy to be home, after all Louisiana was his true home and New York was his second. Liam was ready to get back to work, he didn’t want to dwell on sadness of what was. He wanted to move on the best he could.
Being early in the morning he had still had some time to do things. He hadn’t really talk to Alaine in the last month. Liam wasn’t even sure if Alaine would want to talk to him. He knew that Alaine had been busy after he had just left, especially with Sam being gone. Liam hated to wondered what kind of stress he might be under.
After dropping his clothes off at home, Liam had changed his clothes and took off toward the city. He was looking to have some breakfast, and spend the day shopping. While driving through the city in search of some breakfast, Liam had texted Alaine to at least let him know he would be a work tonight, just to make sure he still had his job.

Weeks, nearly a month had past since his colleague had just up and left him to fend for the club. He understood that Samuel was worried for his lover. From the way it was described to him, he had good reason to be. But he had to admit that running the club on his own wasn't exactly his cup of tea either. Every night it seemed like one employee or another was trying to start some kind of drama. If that wasn't enough of a nightmare, Liam left without a trace. Every night he kept an eye out for him. And every night he was disappointed that the blonde was nowhere to be found. Every few nights he asked the others if anyone had seen him and just like the last time, no one heard a thing. He was too stubborn to text the male and ask what was up. He had the gut feeling that he would come back, he just needed time. Instead, Alaine focused his energies on the club.
One early morning, Alaine was just leaving the club. He had gotten word from Samuel that his lover was at long last leaving the hospital. In return, Alaine sent him receipts of the monthly bills and his daily report. Hopefully the dumbass would get the hint that he no longer wanted to play owner and go back to his usual duties. If he had to listen to one more petty complaint he was going to fire each and every employee that came in to contact with him. Gathering his things, Liam shut off the computer and then the lights. He walked out of the office and down the hall. The front doors were locked and closed, the lights were off, and all was quiet. Alaine set the alarm and went out the back door, locking it behind him. He squinted in to the morning sun. Amazing how dead this area was in the morning. Crossing the parking lot, Alaine slipped in to the driver seat of his aging Ford Explorer.
Pulling out of the lot, Alaine headed for the only coffee shop he knew to be open this early in the morning. His phone buzzed in his pocket, but out of habit he ignored it. He was too annoyed to see who it was. And if it was an employee, it was too early to hear what sort of excuse they came up with to try to ditch him for their shift tonight. Driving down a few blocks and around the corner, Alaine pulled in to a run down looking parking lot. The building wasn't all that impressive, with a plain sign overhead reading "Gordan's Coffee". A small white sign in the window read open. He walked inside and was greeted by the owner Jim. He ordered a large cup of black coffee and a blueberry muffin. After paying, for the items he took them over to a nearby table along with a small handful of sugar packets and creamers. He took a few minutes to fix his coffee just the way he liked it. Then he pulled out his cellphone to see what fool wanted to become unemployed. To his surprise it wasn't any of the usual employees. Alaine sat there for a couple of minutes, contemplating how he should reply. It wasn't like he had given away the males job. More, working around it. Often he would schedule the part-timers an extra day every other week to fill the space. And when that wasn't an option, he would fill the slot himself. After another minute, he lifted his phone and typed out a response. "Depends....Does this mean that you are coming back? Or should continue rotating part-timers to take your place?"
