⋮ ۩ ) • • • ❛ NUMQUAM TIMEBUNT UMBRAE❜Kirean was used to stupid choices. He didn't think of Miguel as an idiot or an a*****e. At one point he'd loved him though he couldn't say if he did anymore. Kirean wasn't given the time to be with Miguel, a few months sure, the longest relationship he'd probably had. He didn't regret it, what he did regret was running away. Kirean watched as Miguel shook his head and soon answered him. He couldn't be sure of the truth in his words. Kirean released his hold on Miguel but didn't step back from him. "Stupid choices…Did you even miss me while I was gone?" He asked curiously, while he watched Miguel. Kirean waited for the truth after all it would give him some answers.

He listened as Miguel spoke, watching as he turned to unlock the door. Kirean heard him speak again as he slipped inside to his apartment. He didn't push the issue but it was obvious he'd left for good reason. Kirean stepped away as he turned to leave. He wasn't wanted or needed; fear of rejection.

He was hoping Kirean would snap out the funk he was in. Abel hadn't talked much with Kieran who bottled everything inside lately. He was used to knowing more and yet he knew nothing.
At the moment, Abel's phone was on vibrate. He felt it go off seeing it was a call from Miguel. Abel had seen the text previously knowing Kirean had followed him home. His phone rang a little more before it disconnected. He wasn't too sure what was going on but a call didn't seem good. Abel excused himself from his meeting.
He left the conference room as he started down the hallway. Abel pulled open the call from Miguel and redialed it. He stood leaning against the way waiting for an answer. Abel wasn't so sure if Miguel would pick up. He assumed the worst as they didn't usually converse on the phone usually it was texts.

Sitting on the floor, he continued to cry like the damsel he deemed himself. His throat hurt, his chest ached, his neck was sore. ******** Kieran and whatever it was he wished to accomplish. And ******** Abel too for bringing him here in the first place. He hadn't realized it until now but he was shaking. He was actually shaking, he had been afraid of Kieran. Sniffling on the floor, he heard his phone go off. Jakob ignored it, let it ring. It was probably some scam number anyway.
He sat there a little longer, tears raining down as thought of all that could have happened. How stupid he was to have even let him get this far into the building with him. Now he knew where lived and where he worked. He didn't want Kieran coming back here. Oh god, he thought. What if he did come back and broke in? Would he hurt him even more than he just did? As his mind flooded with the possibilities of another ambush, he started to panic. His breath came in quick and shallow while his heart race a mile a minute. He couldn't breathe. He felt as though he would pass out. This was how he would die, alone and afraid.

He was starting to feel guilty from lack of response. Abel didn't think Kirean would hurt Miguel, at least not in the overly physical sense. He hung up and pocketed his phone. Abel went back to the conference room to call for a reschedule.
He left, heading back to his car. Abel got in his car and started his drive back home. He texted Kirean to see if everything was going fine, he got a vague response about seeing Miguel and that he had gone back to his hotel. Abel knew he was eight hours from Germany but his own panic set in as he worried about Miguel.

It had been a long time since Jakob had his last panic attack. He couldn't even recall being this worried when he'd been cut open. Though that may have been due to the adrenaline along with all the blood he'd lost. Most of the time he was too stupid to be scared. But Kieran had really done it to him this time, he was good and afraid. He should have never gotten involved him. Him and Abel both, they just brought nothing but trouble. Safe, he thought he was safe. How asinine. There was no safe, nothing was safe, he would safe. Just like he would never be rid of Kieran or Abel or Cornelius or the whole ******** American mob. Nope, this was it. He would just constantly dancing around these ******** until he was dead. He was sat on the floor rocking slightly back and forth, staring blankly at the floor. In the background he heard his phone buzzing against the phone. Stupid scam calls, they never quit.
He stayed there on the floor for what felt like hours. Eventually his breathing came back to normal and his face was dry and crusted with tears. Kieran had never come back. Still he felt like s**t and he needed to pee. He slowly pushed himself up from the floor and made his way towards the bathroom. Flicking on the lights he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and the ugly bruise that had formed in the shape of Kieran's fingers. He looked away to attend to his needs first. A few minutes later he was back at the sink and washed his face. He sniffled a little but for now appeared to be all out of tears. When he was finished he went to grab his phone from the floor and was surprised by the amount of missed calls from Abel. He supposed he ought to fill him in, but he didn't have the strength. Taking his phone with him, Jakob flopped down on the bed and laid on his side. He kept his phone close in case he got another call, but for now he was tired and he wanted to sleep.

⋮ ۩ ) • • • ❛ 𝙅𝙪𝙙𝙜𝙚, 𝙅𝙪𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙧.❜With no response from Miguel, he couldn't help the worry. There was no telling if Kieran told him the truth. After all he wouldn't exactly tell him if he did hurt Miguel. Returning back to his house after a long forty-five minute drive, he pulled into the driveway. He didn't bother pulling into the garage after all he wouldn't be there long.
After hastily packing clothes in a suitcase, Abel went into his office to reserve a plane ticket to Germany. He left his house heading to the airport. Abel hadn't received a call back from Miguel or even a text. He kept within the speed limit knowing it would do him no good if he drove recklessly.
Arriving at the airport, Abel had checked his car into the lot then rode a bus to the terminals he needed. He checked in his bag as well as getting his ticket from the check in counter. His plane was leaving in thirty minutes. Abel headed toward the security section. He passed through the line pretty quickly then made his way toward the terminal.
It wasn't long before he was on the plane taking off. Abel didn't particularly like planes. He had a little trouble with nausea while the plane flew through the sky. Abel was lucky he wasn't by a window, it would probably be worse.
For the next eight and a half hours, he sipped on soda and tried not to think too much. The plane landed luckily for him safely. Abel left the plane heading to baggage claim. It took a while before he finally had his bag in hand. He left the airport to hail a taxi. Abel knew where Miguel lived. He had given him his address previously in case he even visited. Abel hadn't planned on it but now he had to.
The taxi ride was another hour before arriving at the apartment. He paid the taxi driver and took his suitcase. Abel walked to the door and buzzed all the buttons not sure who would let him in but he didn't care. He was soon let in and entered. It was dark now so he wasn't sure if Miguel was home if he was alright.
Abel took the elevator to the floor he needed. He had gotten a few looks from some neighbors as he exited the elevator. Abel hardly cared, he walked down the hallway to Miguel's door. He stopped at the door and knocked on it. Abel waited for an answer as he stood nervously.

Without even realizing, Jakob had managed to fall asleep. He didn't think his actions would have such an affect on Abel. Half the time he didn't think the man cared that deeply for him. He should have called back before going to sleep, or at the very least sent him a text. Instead, he had slept deeply and soundly. His dreams were filled of Kieran and his hate filled words. He still didn't understand why he came here. Now he never would. It was over, this time for good. Frankly it was for the best, he didn't think he could stand to be in the same room with him after today.
The hours passed in a blur of visions and voices. By the time he arose it was well after midnight. He'd been asleep for almost ten hours. His head ached a little as did his neck. Glancing at his phone, he saw no messages or texts. So it seemed that Abel hadn't tried to reach him again. Abel, he thought. What time was it there? Would he still be awake after contacting him so early this morning? Crawling out of bed, Jakob kicked off the shoes he'd forgotten to remove and padded into the kitchen for some water. He had just grabbed a bottle from the fridge when there was a sudden knock at the door. He flinched at the sound, and cautiously moved towards the door. Peaking through the peep hole, he couldn't believe it.
Jakob quickly undid the locks and opened the door. Without even thinking about it, he wrapped his arms around the man and buried his face in his chest. He closed his eyes, breathing in his scent. He had missed him so much. Not only that, but after a day like today it felt like a tidal wave of relief washing over him. Jakob remained glued to him a minute or so more before pulling him inside.

He waited as the door opened only to be attacked by the person on the other side. Abel released his suitcase as Miguel buried himself against him. He wrapped his arms around Miguel glad to know he was okay. It wasn't long before Miguel pulled back to pull him inside. Abel grabbed his suitcase and entered Miguel's apartment.

Sure they had spoken over texts and phone calls but that didn't compare. He was happy to see Miguel regardless of why he was here. Abel watched as Miguel moved into the kitchen area standing by the counter. He heard Miguel question him taking him in completely. Abel could see the marks against Miguel's neck and heard the tone in his voice. "Coffee would be good, thanks." He responded as he removed his shoes and left them at the door. Abel made his way into the living room area. He didn't want to crowd Miguel so he gave him space.

It had been years since he'd last seen Abel, nearly as long since he saw Kieran. Despite his earlier thinking, he truly was happy to see him. He'd been wary knowing that Kieran was still in town. He didn't know where he'd gone or how long he'd be in town after today's spat. He liked to imagine that the trip could be getting cut short, but who knows. Standing by the counter, he felt Abel's eyes on him. He wanted to hide the marks on his neck, but should have done so before opening the door. He smiled tightly as Abel requested a coffee and moved to the cupboards. From there, he pulled out a bag of Dallymayr and a small silver scoop. Flipping up the top of the coffee maker, he replaced the filter with a new one. Jakob continued to busy himself with preparing the machine while Abel moved behind him. He didn't mind the male making himself comfortable. After such a long journey, he imagined he must be tired. Jakob finished what he was doing and put the bag of coffee grounds back where he got it. "Should be ready in a few minutes." he said, turning his attention back to the male. Moving around the counter, he came to sit beside him on the couch.
