Shina Kiremono~Third Year~Ravenclaw Seeker Shina stayed close to Chase, eyes flicking around to check their surroundings. She checked her forearm wand holster, making sure it was clear. With a flick of her wrist, she drew her wand, then holstered it again. Some things took a drawn wand as a challenge, and she didn't want to antagonize anything. ((OOC: ... ))

HOGWARTS GRADUATE ¦¦ if you're going through hell, keep on going xxxxxxxxxx x x ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬Tamara growled a little as the tiny creature squirmed and kicked, trying to free itself from her grip. She did the canine equivalent of a sigh, huffing with her nose. Chase and the unfamiliar scent were drawing close now. In fact, she made a visual soon after. Tamara trotted into the small clearing where the two had made a stop, still holding the fox in her mouth.

Chase Henrick Ravenclaw : Third Year : Chaser Chase walked through the forest, occasionally glancing back to make sure he could at least see Hogwarts. Getting lost in the forest wouldn't be pleasant, especially after his first experience. He looked around, observing his surroundings to make sure nothing would pose a threat to the two's safety.
Suddenly, he spotted Athena, in another creature's mouth. She seemed to be fighting pretty hard, though in her position, all of her efforts were futile. Chase drew his wand, ready to rescue his troublesome fox. As the creature got closer, he realized that it was a dog that seemed somehow familiar with him. Then the blurry memory hit him at full force. How could he have forgotten! The dog who essentially saved his life when he was lying on the ground, bleeding to death. Chase put his wand away, knowing that the mammal meant no harm.
"Long time no see," he said to the German Shepard, kneeling down. "Did this troublemaker give you too much trouble?" "The person who tries to live alone will not succeed as a human being. His heart withers if it does not answer another heart. His mind shrinks away if he hears only the echoes of his own thoughts and finds no other inspiration." - Pearl S. Buck

”Once an heir, now a leader. I only hope I can do as well as my father wanted...”Ammar stretched his arms, which were giving him problems after the long trek with the weight of the belongings. They ached and the muscles burned. He might have pulled something, Ammar thought with a grimace. Even so, he had to pretend like it was nothing in front of his herd and then deal with the pain later. Right now, there was business to attend to. And not the fun kind.
When Vita approached from the thicket, Ammar nodded in recognition, "Thank you for joining us Vita,"
The sun was high above their heads. It was already noon. About time to eat. Ammar made a few calculations in his head about what he should do next and what he should tell his centaurs. Eventually, he came to a decision, "We must search the area for any threat or danger. Centaurs who can fight should search the area immediately outside our new grounds. Make sure to keep an eye out.
"While we are gone, luncheon should be prepared for our return," Ammar announced to all the centaurs of the herd in the area. This was the best he could think of on the spot, but it wasn't so bad of an idea. He nodded to his warriors as he slowly began to trot away into the forest. They could follow him, if they wanted, or they could stay to make the lunch for the herd. It was their choice, but Ammar was sure which choice was more appealing to them.

Shina Kiremono~Third Year~Ravenclaw Seeker Shina drew her wand when Chase did, quickly checking to their sides and back to make sure nothing was sneaking up on them before moving to flank Chase in preparation to fight for possession of Athena. When Chase relaxed and put his wand away, Shina followed suit. She watched the dog suspiciously, but trusted Chase's judgement. "Do you know this dog?" she asked after he greeted it familiarly. Hadar paused, briefly weighing his options. On the one hand, after having tripped over that root, it would be best to avoid any unnecessary physical exertion; on the other...he still had his pride to maintain. Crippled his leg might be, but a century's worth of experience in archery made up for it: precision over agility.
That settled it. He wasn't going to stay behind with the newborns and the more domestic females while there was work to do. Trotting back to his belongings, he swiftly retrieved his bow and his medicine pouch, and followed Lord Ammar back into the thick of the forest.

Vita nodded back to the older centaur respectively. If it wasn't for him, her former herd would've been in a panic over who the next leader should be. But in the end it was her decision to join their herds that won everyone's vote. Maybe one day she'd decide whether or not she wanted control of her herd again. Until then, she followed Ammar. He wasn't a bad leader, he just... seemed a little awkward when you watched him. As if she was one to talk. She had a golden opportunity to become herd master and she handed it over the centaur walking away into the thicket, preparing to do the perimeter check.
Which was what she should be doing, since she was more than capable of handling herself. Vita trotted after Ammar and Hadar, gear always strapped to her where ever she went. As she caught up to her leader she slowed down. "Ammar,", she began, deciding to forgo formalities at the moment, "Do you like being our leader?" An odd question, yes, but it was conversation starter and an important inquiry to be answered. She didn't keep her eyes on him alone, though. The female centaur was checking their surroundings and making sure there were no dangers, just as Ammar ordered. But really, she was old enough to know that he didn't have to 'like' being their herd master; it was duty. All the same she wanted him to answer. Hopefully he'd be telling the truth.

When burning bridges don't come down, like silent symphonies without a sound Llamrei, Centaur, 17 Year Old Mare
Mood: Content Thoughts: I better help... With: Centaurs Location: Forbidden ForestLlamrei gladly joined the other centaurs who were not warriors. She had no regrets about her place in the herd. She simply did not make a good warrior, and would only be a hindrance to the others. The teenage centaur began to help prepare lunch silently. "The woods are lovely, dark, and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep." I spend these nights counting stars, and wonder if there's hope for me out there

”Once an heir, now a leader. I only hope I can do as well as my father wanted...”Ammar glanced over his shoulder at Vita in surprise. What did she just ask? He turned to face the front, to pay attention to where he stepped. He glanced back again, with an eyebrow raised, "What sort of question is that?"
The centaur crossed a stream as he glanced around, listening intently for trouble. The forest was still and quiet, so Ammar continued, "It is not about 'like' or 'dislike'. It is about what must be done,"
The centaur stepped over an enlarged, gnarled root, and he pushed some branches away from his face and vision. Anything could be nearby, he kept reminding himself. Any guard lowered could be the last time. He couldn't afford to let that happen. He tensed his muscles, scanning the area slowly.

Hadar chuckled quietly at Ammar's answer, not having expected anything different from his leader. Truth be told, it was exactly the kind of response he himself would've given if he'd been the one leading the herd, but it was also exactly the kind of obligatory response that no one was looking for.
He ducked under a branch, a few leaves clinging to his legs, which were dripping water from the stream they had just crossed. More leaves stuck to his hooves, but Hadar paid them no mind as he listened for any sign of danger. Finding none for the time being, he decided to join in the conversation, backing Vita: "Regardless of whether or not it must be done, surely you have an opinion on it." It was more of a casual remark, one that obviously wouldn't compel Ammar to respond, but Hadar too was curious about what his leader thought of his position.

”Once an heir, now a leader. I only hope I can do as well as my father wanted...”Ammar looked up to the sky, through the patches that he could. It was gray, and cold. Snow fell through the canopy. Winter was beginning, and soon the trees would be reacting to the cold, and the herd would need to as well. They needed to double up on furs, and they needed to find food to sustain themselves for the cold months ahead. Ammar was hardly present as the centaurs around him spoke. He was planning ahead, thinking of things that must be done.
When Hadar chimed in after Vita's question, Ammar returned his thoughts to the matter at hand. How did he feel about being leader? Sure, he was young, but he was strong, and his father had passed on a plethora of knowledge to him before his passing. He was suitable for the job, but did he actually enjoy it? Ammar pondered this for a moment then, with a grin, looked back at the two, "It is glorious,"
All the fighting, hunting, survival, and passion. Yes, glorious was the right word for it. It was glorious when Ammar could single-handedly take down a bear with his own two hands. It was glorious when he and his centaurs felt the thrill of the hunt. And it was glorious to look up to the stars and to see the world for what it was, is, and will be. There was no finer word for it than that.
Ammar glanced around once more, sure that they had circled the camp far enough and scanned for threats well enough. The fact that there had been no tracks or trace of danger excited Ammar as well as caused him some anxiety. The peacefulness was almost too good to be true. It was unlikely that no creature passed through such a luscious area and didn't leave a mark of its presence. Despite this, he turned to face the centaurs that had followed him. With a nod, he addressed the number of centaurs, "I believe we have searched well enough for now. Head back to camp,"

((Contact me if you are okay with being poisoned/killed xD )) Achaius was fuming. How dare they enter his domain. This was his home, not theirs. They had no business to be here and should never have come. He would show them who did and did not belong in this part of the forest. Achaius would frighten them away with his strength and speed. His viciousness would force them back to where they came from. It was a promised he made himself as he started to make his way over the heads of the centaurs.
He made no noise and was silent, walking along the tops of the trees where his webs were spun. No one ever seemed to look up, which was advantageous for him. He watched with his eight eyes as the centaurs conversed, one of them obviously their leader. He led the expedition, the centaurs following in a simple line, almost surrounding him. Achaius watched with a faint sense of jealousy.
The time was nigh. He scurried along after them, careful not to disturb the leaves above him. They would blow his cover otherwise. No, he needed to be ahead of this group of half-men, half-horses and he needed to show them the error of their decision. When he was far enough ahead of them, he waited in earnest, rubbing his front legs together in anxiousness. When the lead centaur was close enough, Achaius dropped down from the web above them, turning in the air to land on the centaur, fangs flaring out to cut into flesh.
He was hungry and wanted to taste centaur flesh.

☾ Serallius ☽ A roaming centaur... ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓
The natural beauty of the new resting grounds seemed dream-like, almost right out of someone's day dreams. Serallius was never here before, as the lullabies of the birds he followed lead him elsewhere. But now that Ser stepped onto foreign grounds, he took all of the new surroundings into his mind, further expanding his mental map of the Forbidden Forest.
He look around, occasionally glancing at the other centaurs who were scanning the area with Ammar. "There are no songbirds in this area," Ser said in a low whisper. As soon as the words left his lips, he glanced at Ammar.
One second again Ammar was simply standing there, normal and unharmed. The next second the fangs of a creepily big spider sunk deep into him. The spider reeked of death, its wish to kill showing through its many eyes. Alarmed, Serallius leaped forward, not even sure what he would do. "Help Ammar!" The centaur exclaimed.

❋ Sagittarius ❋ Centaur _________ ___________________ ____________________________
The beauty of the new sleeping ground could only keep Sagittarius' mind occupied for a couple minutes, five at most. When she noticed the other centaurs leave to scout the area, she couldn't help but want to follow as well. Of course, as a mare, she had other duties. But hey, she was a foal at heart and Ammar did say "centaurs who cand fight". Sagi was more than capable to do so.
She tagged along with the group at the back, her bow and arrows snugly slumped on her back for easy access and quick reaction time. Occasionally, the mare looked before her to make sure no creature hid from their presence, the emerged from their hiding spot moments later.
Upon hearing Serallius' warning, she whipped her head back to facing forward, only to witness the gigantic spider sink its fang into their leader's body. "Get your dirty fangs off of Ammar!" Sagi shrieked, getting her bow and arrow at the ready to shoot the gigantic spider fifteen hundred times. Her hands trembled as she took aim, but she wasn't scared. At least, she didn't think so. She was strong and courageous, yes. But she was still a little foal compared to others.
The strings of her bow slipped through her fingers as her lousy shot flew through the air, missing the spider by a meter or so. Well, hopefully, at least it would direct the spider's attention elsewhere. If it was a matter of running away from the spider, Sagi could easily be the bait.

HOGWARTS GRADUATE ¦¦ if you're going through hell, keep on going xxxxxxxxxx x x ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬Tamara lowered her head when Chase knelt down next to her and released her grip on the fox. When he asked if the fox gave her any trouble, she shook her head, answering his question. Then she took a step back and shook herself. In a moment, she changed into a human female; blond hair a top a tall, feminine body, with piercing blue eyes. To Chase, she may be vaguely familiar. "You remembered me?" she asked, her voice a little hoarse after being a dog all afternoon.
