HUFFLEPUFF HEAD OF HOUSE || DEPUTY HEADMISTRESS || HERBOLOGY PROFESSOR Pandora rushed down to the Boathouse as soon as she could to meet this year's group of new students.
She looked over the first years and smiled. She remembered this day fondly, even though it was many years ago. "Hello," the professor said loudly to get the students to focus on her. "Welcome to Hogwarts. I am Deputy Headmistress Pandora Thorne. If you would all follow me I will lead you to the castle," she said as she headed off to the castle, occasionally glancing over her shoulder to make sure the newest students were behind her.

"Twas a rather lame pun." He smacked himself in the forehead, sighing at his awful joke. With a chuckle, he looked back up, hoping no one decided he ought to be at the bottom of the lake. Lucky for him, he'd done swim therapy for years, and was decent in the water. The boy listened to Annabelle's recount of which house she wanted, then read Rhys' note. "I wanna be in the brave one... Gryffindor, I think. And Rhys, you should be in the... the blue one. The smart kids!" He grinned, proud that he knew at least a tiny bit about the houses. It wasn't much, but he always had the excuse of saying he was muggle until this summer. When the teacher mentioned going to the castle, Gid looked around. When the boats started moving, he held on, looking around in awe. They were magic boats?! After a few quiet minutes of travel, they finally arrived at a little boathouse. Alright. Getting in the boat had been difficult, but now he had to get out. And the boat was still bobbing on the water. He looked around, biting his bottom lip. Using his crutches, he braced them against the boat as well as he could, then, with an awkward sort of leap, he planted his feet on the dock. Good. Now, he had to get his crutches onto the dock without falling on his rear. He moved slowly, but managed to successfully get all the way onto safe land. He was so proud, even though it was done with poor execution. When a different teacher told them she'd lead them to the castle, he grinned at Rhys. This was it! They were going to get sorted! But... Rhys would be scared, and they might end up in separate places. Gid shook his head, determined to have a great evening. Calmly, he followed the professor, stretching out all his muscles from his extended sitting. {OoC: Exit to Antechamber}

C O R I N N A R E N E E W I L L I A M S Unsorted │ First Year │ Eleven Years Old
Corinna listened, interested, as Tiki explained the differences between wizards and Muggles. Her mum had always just described her dad as being unable to use magic, but had never labeled him, or anyone else in the village, as Muggles. Still, Cori supposed that it was an easy way to indicate which group was which. When the girl paused, looking to Corinna before twirling with her hair as if awaiting a response, Corinna gestured for her to go on. Cori began to frown as Tamaki went on to describe different blood statuses, especially when she said that some wizards disliked half-bloods, and even had a derogatory term for them. How rude! Wasn't it wonderful enough to live in such a - literally - magical world? "I think I sort of understand," Corinna said, turning the ideas over in her head. She shook them from her mind as their boat bumped against the dock. Were they at the castle already?
Corinna clambered onto the dock, awkward as ever and fearful she might fall into the cold water, but she managed to plant both her feet on solid wood as she stood by Tiki with the other first years. The woman who'd led them across the lake instructed them to wait for another escort, and shortly another woman appeared. She introduced herself as Pandora Thorne, Deputy Headmistress. Her smile was radiant despite the darkness as she gazed out at the students, instructing them to follow her. Corinna stayed close to Tamaki as they climbed stairs upward to the castle, elated but still wishing to ground herself next to her friend. "So what happens next?" Cori wondered aloud. TαmαkixCunninghαm Unsorted || First Year || Pureblood ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━↘↘ "Yeah..." Tamiki said in reply to Cori's new found knowledge of half-blood and pure-bloods. "It's disgusting what they do, but there's not really anyway to stop them..." She was interrupted when the boats reached the other side of the lake. She let Corinna get out first, her balance improved from last time before Tiki followed suit. Once on the dock, she stuck close to Cori and looked at the female from earlier standing as if she were waiting for somebody. The group seemed to wait for a while before another woman showed up, looking akin to a teacher of sorts. When her introduction was finished, the first years followed close by, Tiki making sure to stick close to Cori. "I'm not sure. I think we get sorted next?" She said while the two followed the group towards wherever the woman was taking them.

As if she had been listening to his impatient thoughts, the deputy headmistress approached the large flock of first years with a warm smile and an eagerness to lead their party to the castle. With no reason to dispute her instructions, Liam slipped his hands into the pockets of his dress pants and eased in near the front of the unorganized cluster. The soles of the boy's shoes made a faint click with every step as he climbed a set of stairs, ascending toward the large, dark figure of the castle.

Chipped nails scratched into the wooden deck of her boat; she was sprawled across the length of her bench and perched upright against the inwale, her heavy head rested on the top rail to gaze out onto the lake. Idle conversation bubbled like sea foam, sitting on the shallow surface of lukewarm pleasantries and diluted reflections; the lake had none, however—seafoam, anyway—she was sure the inhabitants of the black lake had their own sordid dramas. So she leisurely envisioned a fantasy kingdom of merpeople; backstabbing princes' and conniving princesses', each one vying for the throne and willing to risk everything. Even war. "—I will lead you to the castle—" Savannah perked up, startled at the tail end speech of the deputy headmistress' voice cutting through the night. As her little wooden vessel had docked, most of the other students had already filed after the professor, meanwhile, the thud, thud, thud of her combat boots and clink, clink, clink, of her jewelry echoed as she followed the crowd through the boathouse.

Bronwen watched as the boats bumped against the dock, and she stepped off, quickly summoning the other boats to the dock and hitching them to the wooden pillars. She then smiled at the new first years, ready to hand them off to the next person in line. This group seemed lively, and she swore that a couple jumped onto the boats as they were moving. Well, she would be interested in seeing where those ones went, that was for sure. She addressed these students for the last time and couldn't wait for the quidditch season to start. "Alright everybody! Please step off the boats and get onto the dock. Please, no horseplay. You will be escorted to the Great Hall here in a little bit." With that, she settled back to wait, knowing that Thorne would be along shortly. Honestly, she wanted to eat something soon!

Raymond Ara Yuko First Year Unsorted Pureblood Location : Boathouse
Ray’s thoughts about leaving home were neutral. He wasn’t the least bit worried about leaving home but he did secretly miss his mum. Sure she’d be fine by herself, maybe she’d even find herself a guy but he wouldn’t be there to look out for her. Despite his feelings Ray got onto the Hogwarts express and took to sitting alone. Looking out the window at the world going by he wondered what Hogwarts would be like. He imagined it would be like any other school but you could never be completely sure.
Once the train arrived at its destination Ray followed his fellow classmates to the lake. Getting into a boat once he got there, the boy kept to himself. He just wanted to get to the castle and find out where he’d be sorted. Once that happened then he’d worry about making connections with his fellow house and classmates. When the boats started moving across the lake Ray looked around him. The castle coming into view as the boats moved across. ‘You can see everything from here…’ he thought until his thoughts got derailed by the boat hitting land. ‘Looks like we’re here… sort of...’ Ray commented to himself as he made his way out of the boat and stood out of the way.

Tobias Ledford YEAR: first :: HOUSE: unsorted (You can click the picture to view his profile) Tobias marveled at the way all the boats moved and seemed to remain close together without anyone directing them. It almost felt like the boats were a school of fish, moving along the waters closely together to have strength in numbers. It's something that Tobias had always thought about and almost felt bad for fish when it came to try and avoid predators. Most animals on the ground have to watch out for predators all around them and above them as well. In the water, they need to watch for predators below them as well. Tobias snapped out of his short daydream state and watched as the boats arrived at their destinations. Various students began disembarking them, Tobias made his way off of the boat and reached out his hand to help the other boy. "Sorry for my rudeness, but the name's Tobias. Tobias Ledford." Tobias said with a smile. ((OoC))

●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●● Zallie was practically giddy, yet completely terrified all at the same time. It was a miracle she was just blurting things out from pure pent up...emotion. Perhaps that was because this was honestly the first time she had kept her mouth shut for more than a minute since they'd first got on the train. Now she raced behind Cerry and jumped into a boat, leaving her twin brother behind. Oh well, he was a big boy, he could figure it out himself. As they got into the boat Cerry immediately starting talking. Zallie, however, took a moment to get a rundown on those in the boat. She had quickly come to determine the boy that was with them wasn't exactly pleasant company. The other girl, however, seemed just fine. In fact, she seemed as talkative as the two of them. As they arrived at their stop she took it upon herself to answer the girls question. "Pleasure to meet you MJ. I'm Zallie and this is Cerrynthe, and I do believe neither of us has any idea on a house" she said with a giggle. "My big sister was a Hufflepuff, but honestly I could see myself in any of the houses. I guess we will just see. I trust the sorting hat. I mean when my sister found out she was a Hufflepuff she was crushed. Hufflepuff's always seem to have critics. By the end of the year though she couldn't have been happier. Somehow that hat really knows what it is talking about. I hear it can read your mind. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I mean I guess it's a good thing, as long as it doesn't share." Zallie suddenly realized she was kind of ranting so she shut her mouth and waited for Cerry to pick up the rest of the conversation. ooc;MADE BY PURPLEINATOR. c o l i n xx d o y l e The two rode the boat mostly in silence but he didn't mind one bit. He was a bit too in awe of the whole thing to say much anyone. The work it must have been to construct a castle like this, it was completely incredible. Plus it was really magical. Literally actually. He had to admit it was a bit overwhelming and completely stunning. He suddenly was drawn from his own thoughts when the little boat bumped into the dock. He smiled, they were one step closer. When the other boy reached out to help him, Colin graciously took it. "Thanks, mate. Oh, and I'm Colin. Nice to officially meet you, Tobias." He never was good with making conversation so he just kind of nodded, hoping the boy had something else to say because he certainly didn't.ooc; MADE BY PURPLEINATORUNSORTED FIRST YEAR

So maybe she had no idea what house she might actually be placed in, she decided it was best to have an idea in her mind when she went face-to-face with that hat. Quite honestly she'd be happy in any house. Even Slytherin, and considering her heritage that was really something. "And do actually have a brother here. He's a fourth year Ravenclaw. I can't really see that being my house but really who knows. How about you MJ?" Though they had just met Cerry could tell she already liked this girl. It was good to make friends at the very least. ooc; outfit in top picMADE BY PURPLEINATOR▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊▊ Unsorted First Year

Tobias Ledford YEAR: first :: HOUSE: unsorted (You can click the picture to view his profile) Tobias was happy that he was able to have another person in the school that he knew, even if only by name with MJ and now with Colin, he hope that he could either be friends with them or at least not have a hard time making more friends. They still had time before they were at the school and being sorted, so Tobias figured he might as well not be bored and silent the entire time. Besides, talking with someone was something else that helped him with crowds. No matter how big the group was or would get, if he was talking to only a few people the group didn't seem that bad. Tobias had heard stories from his parents about how things were at the school when they had attended, but he wondered if Colin had any brothers or sisters that might be attending. "Nice to meet you Colin," Tobias said with a smile, "do you have any brothers or sisters that are attending Hogwarts at the moment?" Tobias could have added 'or have attended', but that might have made it sound like he was expecting Colin to have dead brothers or sisters. Considering Colin's age it wasn't extremely likely that he'd have brothers or sisters that were old enough to have already attended and graduated. So if Tobias had asked the question in that way, he guessed that the intention would have had to have been brothers or sisters that were no longer living. That, or ones that might have gotten expelled from the school. Either way, it wasn't the kind of conversation that Tobias wanted to have with someone he had just met. Hopefully the question would be well received and that it wouldn't cause Colin some discomfort for asking. ((OoC))

~M.J. Al'Meara ~ .::. Eleven years old .::. Unsorted .::.
spaceAs they pulled up to the boathouse dock, she got out and helped her two new friends out of the boat. "I already considered them my friends!", she thought with a smile. She then added a quick, but sincere "Sorry for taking over your boat", to the blond boy before starting to walk towards where the rest of the kids where gathering.
spaceMJ grinned as the brunnette, Zallie she called herself, started answering her questions and commenting on the fact that perhaps the sorting hat could read their minds. " I never thought about that before. I mean, it must be able to read your mind if it always knows whats best, but I never really thought about it before." she said, thinking out loud. She shook her head before starting to worry too much about that, it's not like she had anything to hide. She was practically an open book after all.
space"I'm kinda hoping for Hufflepuff myself to be honest, but I would be happy in any house too. So you both have older siblings, that's cool. I had a baby brother, but he passed away when he was 2, it's why I carry this pendent with me", she said, showing off her white gold heart shaped locket. " It has a picture of him inside, so he's always close." Not wanting her new friends to take pity on her, she quickly added, "I keep asking my parents to adopt another girl, because, well...I need someone to pass on all my wisdom ", with a hint of sarcasm and a giggle.
