Ạᶅαιие ᴄɦɋмβеяѕ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Alaine shrugged at the males first question. He wasn't that much of a picky eater. Growing up in a crappy orphanage, he ate whatever he could find. It was another reason he ate whenever he could, he never wanted to feel that hungry again. Alaine may suck at taking care of himself when it came to his medications, but as for daily meals, he never skipped a one. Even if they were simple vending machine meals. "I could go a meatball sub right about now. You?" he replied, naming the first food that came to mind. Really he would anything about now. So long as it was quick and available. Lucky for them they were in New York and he was headed back to the city anyways. But news, it would take at least a half hour to get back there. Maybe less if he sped through. Again the male questioned him and he shrugged. "If you ride with me, I'm not bringing you back out here to claim the car. Otherwise, I suggest you just follow." he replied, again still hesitating on shutting his trunk as he wasn't sure if the male would be riding with him. A part of him was hopeful that the male didn't give a damn about his ride and say yes, whereas the other part didn't want to be responsible if the male needed to get up early and get to work at a certain time. Since he usually just tagged in whenever he felt like it, he didn't really have a normal schedule. Whereas Liam, he was positive he had schedule that he kept strictly to.

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Alaine smiled back at the male, closing the trunk after Liam stuffed his bag in with his. Now where to let the male sleep. The polite thing would be to let him take either the couch or the bed. But here in lies a problem; to him, it would be rude to force the male to sleep on his couch. He wouldn't wish that old thing on to anyone. And then there was his bed, it was in better shape than his couch, king size, and made of a heaven sent material known as memory foam. Alaine hadn't shared a bed with anyone since his first day at the orphanage. The others quickly found out that he didn't take too kindly to people sharing his bed. It was made quite clear after accidentally kicking another boy hard between his legs. Only when he shared a bed did he move lie crazy, but by himself, he barely moved an inch.
He walked around to the front of his car, popping the locks on his keychain. He slipped inside the drivers side and shut the door behind him. Inserting the key into the ignition, he started the engine and they were met with a very loud guitar solo. He'd long forgotten that he had a mix CD of Japanese pop and rock music going when he got here. And since he never turned off his stereo, it was still sitting at the same loud volume as it had been while he was driving. Alaine flinched at the loud sound and immediately turned it down to a more tolerable level. He smiled apologetically at Liam. When the male was in the car, he pulled out of his spot and headed towards the city once again. Even though it sucked getting off of work this late at night, it was the only time that traffic in the Hamptons was somewhat decent.

Ạᶅαιие ᴄɦɋмβеяѕ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Alaine shrugged at the males' words. Shouldn't he be the one thanking the male instead of vice versa? After all it was him who got the attitude. Liam was simply concerned for him and he had to go ahead and blow it all out of proportion. It was instinct, one could say. Whenever someone questioned him about his choices on keeping himself healthy and managing his diabetes, it was instinct to retort until the bitter end. And today was a fine example of his lashing against others' opinions on the matter of his health. He didn't like people thinking poor you or trying to force him into taking better care. It was his life, he hadn't lost any limbs, hadn't gone into a coma. Obviously he was doing something right about taking care of his disease.
He was all but flying down the dark, abandoned streets, the only sounds were the whistling of the wind, as he didn't have the air going and the windows open, and the sound music filling his classic muscle car. When he heard the males voice, he took a quick glance his way before turning back to the street and narrowly avoiding a slowly moving Hyundai. "It's Shuhei Kita. Song is called Sekai de Ichiban Koishiteru, it was the opening theme to Sekaiichi Hatsukoi." he replied. A lot of Alaine's music was somehow Asian related. Whether by anime, [insert country name here] drama, or random related youtube find. He was a pure music junkie. If he found something he liked, he immediately looked up all the information he could about the artist, other hits, etc. It was the reason he could provide so much random music to the club.

Ạᶅαιие ᴄɦɋмβеяѕ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Alaine didn't consider himself a bad driver, but a controlled one. When he was twelve one of the people at the orphanage that actually cared about him gave him the summer of his life. Not only did this person take him out for joy rides, but taught him how to drive as well. That whole summer he learned everything from basics to drag racing, along with maintenance, proper names of every car part, and more. Since that time, he had gained something of a sick obsession for muscle cars. Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, Shelby GT Cobra, etc. He loved them about as much as he enjoyed his music. So even though it appeared that he was about to hit that car, it was just for the thrills and rush of testing his skills. Alaine was as much a car expert as he was a DJ and bartender. After avoiding the car, he took another glance back to the male, hearing his voice once more. He grinned, nice knowing that someone for a change didn't dislike his tastes in music. So hard these days to find anyone who appreciated overseas music the way he did.
Along with being a car junkie, he was first and foremost a music whore. He had nearly very genre available. Remixes, R&B, J-pop, C-pop, K-pop, Japanese Rock, Alternative Rock, Classic Rock, Heavy Metal, Screamo, Emo, Indie, Synthetic Metal, Opera Rock, Opera, Classical, etc. If he liked it, he had it. There were about forty different CDs of twenty different genres floating around his car alone. "If it starts to bug you, you can turn it off, I don't really care." he said, turning his glance back to the road. He continued on down the long narrow roads back to the city. A few street lights here and there, same with the traffic. That was one of the perks working in the Hamptons, traffic was only a b***h during the waking hours. This was still considered to be an hour for night of drinking, dancing, and more.

Ạᶅαιие ᴄɦɋмβеяѕ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Alaine let the music fill the silence between them. He knew if he wanted the male to listen to what all he had to say, he was going to have to sound pretty convincing, because right now it was looking more like a date. Which partially it was. Alaine hadn't been lying when he said he hated to eat alone. Because nine times out of ten when he ate alone, people thought it gave them the right to come up and talk to him, and if he rejected them, they were likely to stalk him home, and if they stalked him home well....he really didn't need to be hauled off to jail. Or at least explain another situation to a bunch of homophobe cops.Even though he didn't know Liam much, he trusted him enough to think he wouldn't try anything weird. After all he'd already been alone with him twice today and nothing bad happened, so why should he believe that something might happen this time? Not every man on the planet was a pig. He had to continue reminding himself that, it was like his comfort phrase or something like that. If he didn't, he was likely to pull over now and leave the male stranded on the highway. But thankfully to his gut feeling, he didn't abandon the male. Not yet anyway; the night wasn't over yet and he still hadn't said anything to Liam about his ulterior motives for asking him out. As they drove on, about a half hour later, they found themselves back into the edges of Manhattan. Alaine, not being the picky eater that he was, immediately pulled into the first good looking place to eat that came into view. Just his luck, it happened to be a favorite; the famous Half Moon Diner. Open twenty-four seven, known for some of the best burgers in town. Pulling into the closest parking space, he put his car into park and turned off the stereo and cut the engine. He then undid the seat belt, got out of the car, and motioned for the male to follow him inside.

Ạᶅαιие ᴄɦɋмβеяѕ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Walking in like he owned the place, Alaine lead the way to a booth in the back. Tonight was one of the few rare nights that the place was somewhat dead and didn't reek of truckers and hookers. Even so with the place being as dead as it was, he didn't want to risk people listening in on their conversation. He was well aware that not every person on the planet did that, but even so, he hated those that did and didn't feel like taking any chances. When they sat down across from one another, he grabbed one of the menus placed by the window. He briefed over it twice, already knowing everything that was on it. Manhattan was his playground as a child and this was his sanctuary. Where else could he get a chance to see such vintage interior, hear great oldies music, and get a good meal that won't cost him an arm and a leg? After glancing over, he set his menu down, and leaned back in his seat. Alaine gently nudged the males' leg with his foot to grab his attention. "About earlier," he started, looking away from the male. This was not gonna be easy for him. Alaine had a lot of pride, and when it came to apologizing for stuff he knew he was in the wrong for, that pride had a tendency of getting in the way. "When we were talking....er, fighting....I'm sorry....I didn't mean to get so defensive. But if you knew me better, you'd probably know why I hate taking care of myself. But since you don't, I just let my anger the best of me and yelled at you anyways.....that's all I wanted to say." Alaine picked up his menu and slouched further against the plastic seat. His throat felt tight and his mouth was dry, he was embarrassed as all hell. Why were the smallest things the hardest to say? He didn't understand nor did he really want to. He said what he wanted and now all he could do was pray the male didn't start to nit and pick at his sappy apology and "try to understand him" as Alaine had put it.

Ạᶅαιие ᴄɦɋмβеяѕ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Seeing that handsome smile, made Alaine want to hide even more. Why was this guy so damn understanding? What happened to the a*****e men he knew that would always need him to give more than such a wimpy apology? Hearing the males' words made him wonder if the male was simply toying with him. Perhaps this was just the calm before the storm? Like as soon as they got back to Alaine's flat all hell would break loose? He shuttered at the thought. He didn't want to think of Liam as he did every other man he ever knew. Not all men were pigs, not all men were pigs, not all men were pigs. With these words in mind, Alaine straightened up in his seat in his seat and lowered his menu just as an elder waitress wearing a fifties style uniform came up to the table, placing two sets of silverware and glasses of water before them. He gave the woman his thanks and told her to give them another few minutes. When the woman was gone, he turned back to Liam, "That's still a piss poor excuse to go off like I did." he said softly. "Like you said, plenty of people are diabetic and live healthy lives, why can't I? I think the only person even still buying that line is Sam." Again he looked away, he wasn't sure if the male knew who Sam was, and he didn't feel right dragging the male into this mess with him. After all, Sam had been there with him all these years and seen so much. This was as much Sam's story as it was his own and he wasn't sure he wanted anyone to know about it. He knew it wasn't good to keep this kind of stuff hidden and bottled up, but it was the only way he knew to keep himself sane. If it was bottled up and hidden from the world, he could easily pretend it never happened.
