Calling Samuel something along the lines of friend or family was one way of putting it. But to Alaine, it didn't exactly fit. Samuel always had been and would be something along the lines of caregiver, lover, protector, teacher. Samuel meant a lot to Alaine, the man had saved him on more than one occasion. He owed him big time. And not just in a way where a simple thank you was all that was needed. At least to Alaine. Knowing Samuel the way he did, a simple thank you and his company was all he would take. Whenever Alaine tried to repay him with dinners and gifts, all of them were refused and only taken on birthdays and holidays, any other given day was a no-go. Knowing all this, he still slept around, he still partied, Sam believed it was a sigh of cooping. Like the only way he could get over what happened was to live a lifestyle similar to it. Alaine wasn't sure how true that was, he just knew he wasn't going to be chained down by anything in his life;not his health, his past, nothing.

As he heard the male speak, he looked up at the male, seeing him smiling so warmly at him. It was almost embarrassing to be smiled at like that. Alaine couldn't help to smile back at the male, a light blush touching his cheeks. "Yeah," he said. "He's kinda like my big brother." That was about as best as he could explain it without going into too many details and confusing someone. Since their relationship seemed to change by the day it was hard to say. One day they could be just friends, the next they were clinging to one another like lovers, it was hard to say just what they were. Nothing he ever said sounded right, and whenever he brought up the issue with Sam, the male simply smiled and shrugged. Things were whatever they wanted them to be. Everything was simple, there were no ties, it just was.

"As the male smiled back at him, he saw the hint of blush upon his face. It was rather cute just to see the male light up like that in a way. Liam listened as the male spoke, nodding slightly. "That's good." He replied seeing that the male truly was attached to the boss in some way. Liam had never spoken to the boss really, only on a couple occasions but he could tell he was a good man. He grabbed his drink and took another sip. Liam couldn't help but want to smile at Alaine. It was an odd feeling but perhaps he was just happy and content with the male. He didn't know why but it just seemed normal to him. Liam leaned against the wall as he relaxed. He still wasn't tired but he knew he would be later. Liam crossed his legs as he sat on the bench since there wasn't much room but he didn't mind. He liked the closeness between them. "

Alaine was glad the male didn't ask anymore about Samuel. He was already slightly uncomfortable about talking about his boss as it was. He wasn't sure why, but whenever he was asked to explain his relationship with his boss, he got nervous. It wasn't as if they were related by blood, as far as he knew and they never claimed to be like that in that way. It was more along the lines of just something to do once in awhile. He smiled and relaxed to the males' words. He seriously needed to get over himself, Alaine had known Samuel since he was five years old. He needed to stop getting so iffy about peoples opinions about him and Sam. They were close, that was all. Sighing, Alaine took another sip from his own drink. He was done eating, tired, and the way Liam was leaning against the wall was made him itch to lean against him again. Liam was warm, soft, he smelled divine despite dancing the night away, and just really wanted the closeness. He took another glance at the male out of the corner of his eye, only to have his blush increase. Taking another sip and pushing away his near empty plate, Alaine slouched back against the seat. He lazily reached across the male to pick up the menu, thinking of maybe grabbing something for road.

"Liam didn't care for Alaine's reasons of his explanation of his relationship with the boss. What went on between them as what ever they were to each other was their business. He didn't need to know the male's whole story not in one night. After all being the first time they had spoken it was best to just get to know each other at a slow pace. He didn't mind getting to know the male slowly after all it was easier that way. Liam watched the male as he finished eating obvious close to being done. He saw the blush on the male's face as he turned to look at him. Liam was curious to what the male was thinking about him. He hadn't said anything but still was it easy to say nothing without words? Liam wanted to know but wasn't sure if he truly wanted to. He watched as the male pushed his plate away, as he leaned back. Liam finished his drink off as he set the cup down on the table. He looked over at the male as he grabbed the menu, "Still hungry?" Liam asked surprised he had hardly finished off his burger and fries himself. He couldn't imagine the male still being hungry after the meal but it was understandable since he had hardly ate since earlier. "

Alaine could be a pig when he wanted to, he had the matabilism that would easily let him. Hearing the males question, he grinned at the male when he picked up the menu, shaking his head. "I can't cook worth a damn and like to sleep in until the very last possible second. So I figured why I'm here, instead of trying to find a store that's still open, just order something to go and I can eat that before work tomorrow....today, you know what I mean." He chuckled softly to himself. He was glad he invited the male along with him, even more glad that Liam would be driving them back to Brooklyn as he felt the weariness of today start to weigh on him. His body was heavy and now that he had eaten, he was finding it harder and harder to keep his eyes open. Glancing through the menu he wondered if it would just be better to go through some place on the way in the morning instead. Oh to order now or wait til morning, that was the question. "Can you cook?" he asked bluntly. Alaine didn't have much food at home, or at least enough to make a real meal. But maybe Liam could be another answer to one of his many problems.

"As the male spoke, he couldn't help but laugh. He couldn't help but find the male honest in some way. Liam wasn't a good cook either, he could cook a few things here and there depending on what he had at hand. He usually cooked for himself but most of the times he went out to eat as well. Liam grew up learning to cook a few things his mother always complained of him not being able to take care of himself if he left his home. He had been gone for a year and a half, and was perfectly fine with himself. Liam hadn't died yet of hunger and didn't plan on it either. "Yeah, I can cook but it depends what I have on hand but I can usually come up with something." He replied smiling finding the male to be blunt sometimes but it was good to find someone who was in such a manner. it was better to have someone be honest than flat out lie to you. "

Alaine sat there pondering for a moment. Just what did he have? It had been at least two weeks since he had eaten at home and he found himself struggling now to remember if and when was the last time he even went shopping. He knew there was a bag of frozen chicken breasts in the freezer, a couple bottles of foreign whiskey sitting on top of the freezer, two loaves of breading in the fridge, maybe a couple of cans of vegetables in the cabinet, a small tub of butter, and possibly a box of pancake mix. "On second thought, maybe it's better if we grab something in the morning." he said, stretching across the male to replace the menu. As he lingered for a moment, he caught another small whiff of the males cologne and natural musk. He really did smell good and was seriously making him wonder if it would be okay if he allowed the male to sleep in his bed. If he did, he sincerely hoped Liam was willing to put up with someone who was likely to stick to him like glue just because he smelled good. Pulling away, Alaine gave a wide yawn. "So, you ready to go?" he asked.

"Liam watched the male as he seemed to be thinking about something. He wasn't sure what he was thinking about but at times it made the male all the more interesting. Liam waited slightly as the male spoke, he nodded, "Okay." He replied as he watched the male put the menu back. Liam caught the male as he seemed to stop for a second as he inhaled him. He smiled at the male as he pulled away, "Yeah." Liam replied as he shifted slightly he pushed his plate out of the way, as he waited for the male to pay the check. He would pay for the meal in the morning if the male still wanted to eat in the morning. "

Alaine nodded at the males words and got up to go pay. He honestly didn't care how much it cost as money was no longer one of his major life issues. So when he came back a few minutes later, he motioned for the male to come on as he stuffed his change into his wallet and stuffed the wallet into his pants pocket. Alaine didn't wait for the male to walk with him, he was sort of impatient like that. But he was enough to wait by the door and hand over his car keys. Since he sucked at giving directions, he planned on punching in the coordinates into his GPS once they got in the car. After that, he was going to sleep the whole ride through. Since the male didn't complain about him leaning against him earlier, he was pretty sure the male wouldn't have a problem with it now.

"Liam knew it was getting late and it was time to head home. He had work tomorrow and needed to try to at least get a few hours of sleep if it was possible at all. Liam wasn't even sure if he would sleep but he would try. He watched as the male walked over to pay the check. Liam took the chance to get out of the booth, as he stood up stretching out. His body was a little stiff and mostly tired. He waited for the male at the table before he directed him to follow. Liam followed behind the male, walking behind him seeing the male was impatient he tried to keep his steps with the male's but found it a little hard. He was glad the male had stopped at the door to wait for him. Liam took the keys from the male and walked toward the car. He unlocked the door as he slipped inside turning the car on. Liam wasn't sure if the male was going to give him directions or not but he hoped he would get some sort of direction since he wasn't good with directions still being new in New York. "

Alaine jumped down the few steps past the down and walked down the curb to his car. There he got in after Liam unlocked the car. He prayed the male really could handle stick or else his baby was screwed. As the car came to life and the GPS sitting on the dash blinked at him, he pressed in a security code, followed by a few coordinates, and at last a female voice that sounded like it belonged to one of those 1800-Hot-An-Horny numbers spoke to them. "Welcome, Alaine. Your current position is The Half Moon Diner, Manhattan, New York City, New York. To get to "Sweet Meadows" in Brooklyn, please down North on 7th Avenue for 5.6 Miles." The voice was smooth, not at all like one of those annoying robotic voices one normally heard. Alaine adjusted himself in his seat and shut his door, he motioned for the male to go ahead and get going. Since he hated how some GPS gave all about directions, he punched in the exact way he used to get home. It was short, easier, and left out a lot of heavy late night New York traffic.

"Liam waited in the car for the male to get inside. He had, had practice over the years to learn how to drive stick. Liam could handle himself and wasn't likely to crash the male's car. He watched as the male got into the car as the GPS turned on. Liam wasn't used to driving with a GPS going but at least it was better than nothing. He waited as the male put in the directions into the GPS as it started to speak. Liam raised an eyebrow but listened anyways. He started to pull out of the parking lot as he headed down the street. Liam kept his hands on the steering wheel as he drove. He glanced over at the male as he drove down the street before returning his eyes to the road. "

Alaine smirked when he noticed the look on the males face when the voice filled the car. He wasn't about to explain how or why the machine knew his name or sounded like "she" was ready to jump his bones. It was supposed to be some sort of gag gift from Samuel. But since he was directionally challenged as is, he kept it and used it with pride. Better to have a hot GPS than none at all. As they drove through the city, he felt the males eyes fall on him for a few moments, it made him wonder what Liam was thinking. When the males gaze left him, and the only sound between them was the voice, Alaine figured it was time to close the gap. The leather seat was comfy, but he prepared warm bodies. Since the front seat was connected as one, Alaine moved closer to the male, a bit cautious as he laid his head on the males' arm and his hand by his lap.

"Liam didn't care for the male's choice in GPS voicing command but it was his vehicle. He continued down the street hoping his house was close by but he hardly knew. Liam was growing tired as he drove, he hadn't realized how tired he was but perhaps it was a good thing he was tired. He felt the male move toward him as he drove. He glanced over to the side as Alaine moved toward him. Liam turned his eyes back toward the road as the space between them was closed. He felt the male's head on him as his hand was on his leg. Liam had never been close with someone before, most of the others he had been with were never this touchy feely but he enjoyed the closeness between them. He smiled as he moved his hand toward the male's as he set his hand a top of his. Liam relaxed into the sit as he drove, he kept his eyes on the road but glanced at the male every so often. "

Alaine was quite content with laying on the male. He had never really been big on boundaries and this was just another fine example. Again he felt the males eyes on him, he glance up for a moment, catching the males smile. Again he was glad that the male didn't give a damn that the male wasn't telling him to get off. When he felt the males hand move on top of his own, Alaine closed his eyes and wrapped his fingers around the males hand. He had no reasons or explanations other than the fact that he enjoyed being close to people. The few close friends that he had, always find it a little hard to believe, claiming he was almost like a cat; quiet, no sense when it came to boundaries, and almost always suspicious of people when he first met him. He almost surprised himself by how open and honest he was allowing himself to be with Liam. But something about him just said that it was okay. He had no reason to fear him, Liam wouldn't hurt him. And thus here he was, his legs dangling off the car seat while his head lay against the males' bicep. He felt comfortable, relaxed, if it wasn't for the fact that they were nearly to his apartment, he could have easily fallen asleep here just as he was.
