Well out of the Spring 2014 Simulcast Lineup the shows that come to mind are World Fool News & The Comic Artist and His Assistants. Although both are shorts.
I've been hearing things about:
Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts (2010)
Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou (2012)
Nichijou (2011)
But I haven't seen them myself.

You should watch the Senyuu. One episode is just 4 minute but it's awesome. It's my new Hetalia. rofl

Space Dandy
Gintama and One Piece aren't stricly comedy, they are also action-y, but there is a large amounts of comedy, and both are fairly long (OP being much longer)
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is a romantic comedy, more comedy than romance.

Norgami Plot;
Hiyori Iki was a regular middle school student until she was hit by a bus while trying to save the life of a jersey-wearing person named Yato. This incident causes her to transform into a half-phantom. Soon after she learns that Yato is a god, her life is never going to be the same again. Genre;
Fantasy, Comedy, Action, Supernatural, Romance
My favorite anime of 2014! I cracked up so many times watching this, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a comedy!

it depends on what comedy you like.... if its dark comedy then you should watch sayonara zetsubou sensei
some other highschool comedies are daily life of a highschool boy, my teenage comedy romance, i dont have many friends, midori days, karin, my little monster,
SCHOOL RUMBLE IS THE BEST FOR NON STOP FUNNY MOMENTS ALSO GINTAMA

Comedy based anime....well, what i can think of is:
1. Binbougami Ga!
2. Saiki Kusuo no Ψ Nan (TV)
3. Handa-kun
4. Sakamoto desu ga?
5. Gugure! Kokkuri-san
6. Omae wa Mada Gunma wo Shiranai
7. Hoozuki no Reitetsu (and 2nd season)
8. Onepunch-man
9. Wang Gu Xian Qiong / Everlasting Immortal (chinese animation)
10. Prison School (The comedy on this one is hilarious, but warning : R18 and hentais is everywhere in it)
