What a beautiful and gorgeous day! Zahra was absolutely ecstatic. Or was the right word elated? Excited? Never mind those words generally all mean the same thing just about !
Though one would probably wonder how a fox and a deer could get along. Or why she had chosen to 'adopt' a fox when she already had a deer tagging along with her. Would some assume she were insane for it? Wild? Question her about it? Nonetheless she did not care about such things. All that mattered to Zahra was that she had a new friend of nature that would be tagging along with her!
The worry of 'will they get along?' was but a tiny whisper in the back of her head. Confidence was key when it came to things like this after all, was it not?
"Alright!" A happy exclamation from the mare as she settled next to her three friends, little monarch butterflies taking roost on her flowers and branchy horns as per usual.
"We need a name for our lovely new friend. Of course, the ever so amazing me has an idea already!" There is that confidence shining through ! She even added a puff of her chest to show off how proud and confident she was of this idea.
"You named the deer Little Darling - It's a cute name, hun, but kinda cheesy." Melina gave a tilt of her little head as she spoke.
"Meliiiiinnaaaaaaaaa~!" A whine from the mare as she puffed out her cheeks! "It's cheesy, but cute !"
"I do agree." The newfound foxy friend chimed in with a wave of their floofy tail. "Even if my name ends up to be literally 'cheesy' , I would not mind it. A name, no matter how cheesy or cliche, is precious."
Now Zahra gave a big smile ! "That's so sweet of you, friend. Still kind of sad you didn't come with one already. But that just means I get to name you something absolutely wonderful myself! And it'll be ten times more precious, huh?"
"Once more I do so agree with you ~" The fox gave a nod and smiled wide for Zahra. "Whatever name you give me I will be happy to carry forever and always."
Such words made Zahra giggle in absolute glee ~! Now came the absolute best part ~! Actually giving this new little friend a name of their own. Names of all sorts swam through the mares head. Cute ones, a few that sounded ugly ( which were quickly tossed aside and deemed unworthy of being bestowed upon the gorgeous little foxy friend) , some that sounded too boring and bland.
From Terra to Bob -- To Melody to Miranda. Dirt? Rock. No, no, no. Zahra gave a shake of her head as she thought these through.
"Zahra, hun, you are silent. Perhaps if you voice what is on your mind, or whatever names have come to your mind for our new friend, finding a fitting one would be easier. We ARE here to assist you, you know."
"Hahaha ! Melina, you're right ~"
"When am I not right, hun?"
That got a playful glare from Zahra. "Pfffft, there ARE times, you know!"
"Of course I know that." A playful roll of Melina's eyes !
"Alright, so ~! I have the obvious no-go names. Bob, Fred, Rock, Moss, Tree Bark, Fish -"
Melina, Little Darling and the foxy friend all gave a series of giggles and laughs.
"What? Hey -- ! I know those were bad names !" Lil pout ! "At least for the little foxy here - They'd probably fit something else real well! Right?"
The giggles and laughs calmed down. Zahra continued on -!
"Stella would fit something more... Sky themes, I feel. Melody and Miranda are pretty names too but when I look at this little one, I don't really feel those fit them in particular. I feel we need something more... Floral, feeling. This little one makes me think of flowers and spring. A pretty little flower - But just plain ol' 'flower' is a little TOO bland. Flora? Floral? Petal? No, nah -- Those feel pretty, but not quite sticking."
Though now she felt she was on a better track than before. Definitely a way better track than before for sure ! Maybe if she thought of pink flowers to use for them? Though many species of flowers came in all sorts of colors. As a matter of fact did ANY sort of flower come in just ONE singular color? Probably not.
Now there was an excited gasp as Zahra looked to the little fox !
"Sakura! Oh, my goodness. Sakura! Is it too cliche? No, no wait I think it's perfect."
Now the little fox, now aptly named Sakura, gave a nod and a smile. "I love it. I will wear the name Sakura with utmost pride an joy, my friend."
