“Kit, just tell him so we can get out of here,” said James. “I can’t.” “Why not?” “I don’t know how, James. How can you tell someone that you’re his twin sister?” “Just tell him.” “What? Just go up to him and say: ‘Mark, I’m you’re twin sister, we’re related, you moron’?” As soon as she said this the door swung open and revealed Mark. “Maybe without the ‘moron’ part,” said Mark in shock, “Twins?”
“No good deed goes unpunished.”
“They’re after me? Why?” asked Cole. “You’ve read the legends, you’re the ******** seventh son of the bloody seventh son!” yelled Kit and she grabbed him.
“Those are not your real parents,” said James. “Yes, they are!” yelled Kit. “They’re not! What’d you do conjure up fakes?” “NO!” “Yes, you did, it’s so obvious.” “You don’t know what you’re talking about.” “I mean you could’ve summoned better ones. You don’t look anything like them.” “You don’t think I know that!” “What?” “They adopted me.” “What?” “My biological parents didn’t want me. They dumped me on a sidewalk when I was baby. The Thompsons adopted me in, they took me in and raised me, they loved me, and they are my real parents.” “I’m sorry, I didn’t know.” “You wouldn’t. It’s not exactly something I like to talk about. Especially seeing as how I’m not supposed to know and they have no idea that I know the truth.” “Oh.” “But they are my real parents and I’ve treated them badly.”
Kit rushed outside. She knew that Sarah was in trouble. She was running and not paying attention to her surroundings. She crashed into someone, a guy. “Sorry,” said Kit. “It’s okay. Are you okay?” asked the guy. “Fine.” She had to leave, but she noticed that he was cute. “Are you sure?” “I have to go.” “My name’s Leon Hayes, by the way.” “Kit, Thompson.” She left at run. “She’s cute.” “We’re mages; we’re allowed to be superstitious.”
Kit walked into the building and doors threw themselves open for her, as though they were trying to escape, like they were trying to get out of her path as fast as possible. She radiated with power.
“There are just certain things you are not allowed to say: ‘things can’t get any worse’, ‘it could be worse’, ‘what could possibly go wrong?’, ‘there’s no turning back now’ and ‘the worst is over’.”
“In my experience that which doesn’t kill you will only try harder.”
“I eat things like you for breakfast. Seriously, you are made of eggs; you are the demon of eggs. In fact I had eggs for breakfast this morning.”
“You’ve just totally jinxed us.”
“That which doesn’t kill me is going to wish it had.”
“If you’re not here please raise your hand,” said the teacher as Kit put her hand up, “Kit Thompson put your hand down. You are most definitely here.” Obviously he didn’t like that she was there. “Kit Thompson is not here,” said Kit in a dull voice. “Kit!” “I am her evil clone.” “Kit Thompson!” “Sorry but whenever someone says that I can’t help but put my hand up.”
“It’s more efficient to be indifferent.”
“I have done things that; yes I’m not proud of. But I don’t regret anything.”
“Follow your heart.”
“Sometimes the light can be more terrifying than the darkness.”
“In my world, the more you care, the more you get hurt,” said Kit, “So the less you care, the less you get hurt.”
“Some days, it seems like everything you do annoys me.”
“You’re not even worthy of taking the time to kill you.”
“Do you people lack all forms of common sense?”
“I don’t want you to love me in spite of my problems; I want you to love me because of my problems.”
“I’m about to break that one big rule we have - I’m going to change history.”
“You’re never going to make me be serious.” “JAMES TIMOTHY DAVIS!!!” screamed Kit and Jimmy jerked. “Oh, you’re in trouble,” said Sam.
“The way I see, Heaven is invitation only; Hell will take anyone.”
“I’m the girl that tact forgot.”
“I’d like you to meet my old team,” said Kit as she met Kent’s jealous glare, “This is Sam Williams and his boyfriend Kyle Hanes.” “Oh,” said Kent. “Next is Fred Mason and Billy ‘The Bomb’ Bradford,” said Kit. “‘The Bomb’?” asked Kiki. “Don’t ask,” said the whole team in unison. “Up next is - Jimmy, you perv! Leave the poor girl alone!” Jimmy was leaning over some poor newbie. “Sorry, Kit,” said Jimmy as he saw Sarah and completely failed to recognize her, “James Davis, at your service.” He kissed her hand. “I know who you are, Jimmy,” said Sarah and he stared at her, “It’s me, it’s Sarah.” He jumped into a fighting stance. “She’s a friend,” said Kit, “There is John Barnes and those last two are Joe and Jacob Wright. In case you can’t tell they’re twins and between the two of them there isn’t a single functioning brain cell.”
“You know, Kit, what would God think of what you’re doing?” asked Andrew, “Like in the song: ‘What If God Was One of Us.” “Well, if God was one of us the world would be doomed; the apocalypse would come so much faster.” “Why’s that?” “I don’t think he’ll like what he’d see. At least I have a good excuse.” “And that excuse would be?” “I’m the one who currently risking her life to make sure the world still exists.”
“Who’d want to go to Heaven? Hell has the better music. True, Heaven has all of those classical musicians but Hell has all of the rock stars.”
“When I die I want be cremated. That way no one will have to bother with chopping my head off or shoving wood into my heart. Then I want my ashes dumped in the nearest body of water so no one will stare at them.”
“Choke on you own spit.”
“Kit, if there is anything you need-.” “Get rid of my grave.” “Done.”
“You are the weirdest person I have ever known.” “Thank you.” “That wasn’t a compliment.” “It was to me.”
“The worst demon I’ve were fought wasn’t so much strong as horrible smelly.”
Kit’s Memorial Christina Kitara Thompson : “Kit” : Kiram Karen Born: March 11, 1989 on Zegwar, March 13, 1989 on Earth Died: April 30, 2008 Died Again: June 19, 2079 Beloved Daughter Cherished Wife Gracious Mother Inspiring Sister Sweet Princess of Zegwar Great Avarsis Dragon of the Zodiac Grey Girl Black Dragon The Ultimate Hero Powerful Mage And One Seriously Kick-a** Fighter
“I’m an Avarsis.” “A what?” “It means I was born for the sole purpose of dieing so the world could live.”
“You’re done for.” “No. Someone much wiser than me once said ‘when you’re traveling down the road of life you much run until you can’t run anymore, then you must walk until you can’t walk anymore, then you should crawl until you can’t crawl anymore and then you must have someone carry you’.” “So?” “Well, I’m still running and I can go for a lot longer so don’t count me out you.”
“That’s just gross.”
“Only one will die today.”
“There are things that go bump in the night, and I’m the one who bumps back until there’s nothing left of me.”
“You con me, I con you.”
“Where are my men?” “They seemed tired so I gave them something to help them sleep.”
“I hate all teachers.”
“I’m not just magical: I am magic.”
“Is there anything I can do that won’t annoy you?” asked Leon and she thought. “Nope,” said Kit, smiling. “Just as long as I know where I stand.”
“I love her, I look at her and I’m happy and I love her.” ~ Leon Hayes
“For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, Bunny. These are words you understand in science, now apply it to magic. Magic is just another form of energy when you think about it. It isn’t the ultimate source of power. Every spell that we cast comes from within us. It is inscribed on our hearts. That’s why only a few people can ever use magic. Not everyone can read them. But just as there is light magic, there is also dark. And for every spell we cast, we loose something.”
“Do you know why they call it ‘practicing magic’ when we cast spells?” “No, why?” asked Bunny. “Because that is exactly what we are doing,” said Kit. “Huh?” “We’re practicing.” “Practicing? What for?” “We practice for the great war that is coming. When I shall lead a great army into hell itself to conquer the darkness. At least according to the legends.”
“It will come from the darkness with in her soul. And she will try to fight them despite the simple fact that she knows she cannot win. For he will lead them to kill her. The Great War is upon us the girl must lead us all,” said Kit or whatever was in her body. “Girl? What war? What Girl?” “ME!” Kit fainted in his arm. “Perfect.”
“One normal day, that’s all I want.” “I want that body back!” yelled Kit. “Yeah, yeah.” “In perfect condition, one hair-.” “I know Kit,” said the demon as it walked away inside her father’s body. “God, I hate my life.”
He crashed through he wall, sending rubble flying everywhere in his wake. Kit glared at him in a mix of shock and anger. “Seriously! The door - two feet away!”
“Knowledge is power; wisdom is the ability to use that power correctly.”
“Beware the power of the Great Oogily-Moogily!” “I’m sorry; it’s just so hard to be serious when you’re fighting something called the Great Oogily-Moogily.” “Beware my power!”
“What are we going to do?” asked Daniel. “Kill me,” said Kit. “What?” “Kill me.” “No.” “Kill me!” “NO!” “Just kill me!” “Kit?” “Kill me, save the world.” “I won’t.” “Do it,” “Daniel!” “Kit!” “KILL ME!” “I can’t.” “I’ll be fine.” “What?” “Trust me and kill me.” “That’s weird.”
“I’ve just been lucky too many times, I’ve barely survived too often. My luck is about to run out. My number is about to be called.”
“That’s it? End of story? No, not for you.” ~ Duke Miller
“Oh, my, god.” “Where are we?” asked Sam. “It appears to be a school,” said Kyle. “And Kit’s in there?” “Yeah, apparently.” “The newspaper said that it was Saturday.” “Yeah.” “Why in the hell would Kit be at a school on a Saturday? She barely shows up on school days as it is.” “Weird.” They looked at the school and it suddenly started to explode. “Oh,” said the both of them as they suddenly understood. “s**t!” screamed Kit as she jumped out the window on the third floor. “Kit!” screamed the guys as they went to catch her.
“I have the most awesome idea.” “No, I’ll tell you what the most awesome idea is. It’s- never mind I forgot!”
“Kit, you’re going to get yourself killed.”
“She hates everyone and everyone loves her?” ~ Tyler Mitchell
“She speaks everything every language known to man, demon, elf, dwarf or any other kind of beastie.” ~ Damien
“I’ll give you a ten minute head start.” “Really?” “Minutes, seconds, you know how I am at math.”
“You know how I feel about clichés.”
“I’m going to punch you in the face.”
“It’s called lying, I do it a lot.”
“You sent me to hell.” “Really? Was it nice to visit home? How were you parents by the way?”
“Is he trying to kill me?” asked Jake. “Of he’s trying to kill you,” said Kit, “He’s evil!” “Wow.” “If you haven’t realized that yet you’re truly the dumbest person I’ve ever met.”
“I would send you to hell but that’s not much of threat to guy like you.”
“Dear God you’re stupid.”
“Only in my life.”
“You like the smell of cigarettes?” ~ Jimmy Davis
“Smile, God loves you.” “I’m going to shoot you in the face.”
“I could so easily kill you where you stand.” “Dad, I fight demons, I cast spells, it’s what I do.” “Kit, stop joking around.” “DAD! You’ve seen me kill demons; I used magic to tie you to the wall.” “Kit.” “How’s it going?” asked Kent. “I’m having some slight trouble getting him to understand what I do for a living.” “Maybe it would help if you untied him.”
“Spare me.” “Why?”
“Here’s a useful tip: remember that it takes forty-two muscles to frown, seven to reach out my hand and slap and four to raise my middle finger and tell you to ‘Bite me’.”
“You’re about as balanced as an upturned pyramid.” ~ Roy Fallen
“I’ve been to Atlantis; they annoyed me so I left.”
“So are you just incapable of being serious for more than five seconds?” “Now come on, Jimmy,” said Kit, “Well live in a seriously serious world and if I seriously go around acting like a seriously serious right along with it well that would just be way too serious no wouldn’t it?” “Huh?
“It’s easier to be saint.”
“But you’re going away, Kit,” said Jimmy. “Don’t worry about it, Jimmy,” said Kit, “You and me, we’ll always be friends. No matter what. Believe it.” She reached out and linked pinkies with him. “Kit?” She slid her bag over her shoulder. “I’ll see you around.” And then she left.
“What were you expecting? Someone else?” “You fight demons in your free time?” “I guess this would explain my periodic absences from class.”
“This is hard,” said Justin. “Were you expecting sunshine and daisies?”
“I grew up with things trying to kill me so one day I decided I’d kill them first.”
“Hurry it up,” said Jake, “It’s getting kind of hectic.” “What do you think we’re doing? Picking flowers?”
“Of course I’m scared of her; I know what she does for a living.” ~ Justin Case
“Gather Them.”
“You have no idea who’re dealing with.”
“So I was fighting this demon, nothing special or at least it should have been had my English teacher not walked in at that very moment.”
“I’m related to my homeroom teacher?” “Yes, I’m your aunt.” “Miss Herman?” “My name is Katyla Karen, a princess of Zegwar just like you. I’m your mother’s younger sister. My Earth name is Kaitlin Herman.” “Aha-,” said Kit weakly. “How are you doing with this?” “I’m related to my homeroom teacher!” “Okay then.”
“When I say that I’m a dragon, I don’t mean like the Dragon of the Light as in the martial arts title. I mean like the magical, flying, fire breathing lizard.”
“I have an idea,” said Kit and she pressed her heal down. There was a soft pop and a blade shot out of the toe of her shoe.
“That could be a problem.”
“He’s going to kill us all.”
“If I ever get the urge to help someone again please feel free to shoot me.”
“You have weapons, use them.”
“God forgive me for what I’m about to do.”
