Hmm..well, what to say, what to say...
Life is great to me right now. The summer is hot, the mosquiters buzzing, the rain taunting wit hits fresh humid breath...OK, I may be sort of sarcastic there...but hey! Its the truth..
My summer so far has been pretty fun. For one, I went to Stewart Beach in Galvosten TX yesterday, Jul. 23, 2008. Galvosten was on the fringes of Tropical storm Dolly, so the waves were exellent. The cloud cover kept the sand cool and the weather pleasant. I tried my hand at skim boarding but wasn't all that breat at it. but I had fun trying...I did a much better job at boogie boarding, which I did most of the day, and ahve a few bruised to show from it...
The birds there were great! I saw many many Laughing Gulls, they are just so cute! There were also Brown pelicans, pigeons and grackles. But that's not the best of it, I saw some Common Terns there too! They were cute, hovering above the water before diving in and grabbing a fish.
I was soo mad at myself though, I forgot to bring my camera along, and I bring that thing EVERYWHERE! Gah! And I oculdn't run around like crazy trying to get pictures of the seagulls either...
Now I am typing on my grandma's computer, where my family and I are deciding weither or not to leave for home tonight or tomorrow morning..I really don't know, since I still want to go to the mall and look around aeropostale..
My gradparents have threee chatty toy poodles, the mother, a black poodle by the name of Gigi, and two of her kids, white poodles by the names of Buster and Bell... Buster is just IN LOVE with my aunts dog, Daisy, a pikeniese, I hop e I spelt that right...he follws her around everywhere even though she wants nothing to do with him...its hilarious though.
Oh! my aunt just had a baby! So now I have a new cousin, his name is Nikolas. I have no idea how to treat him though...I'm not a baby person, I'm simply afraid to hold him, afraid that I'm not doing it right adn that he'll cry...and I call myself a risk-taker, humm..
The other events I did this summer before this were explained, not too in detail, on a previous journal entry..which included the stokyards maze, my giant jawbreaker incident.
but! There is a couple other things I want to tell you guys about.
Last week I returned from a ranch outside Hunt, TX, ('Hunt texas citizens'...heheh, get it?) known as Mo-Ranch. It is a presbyterian ranch founded in 1945...I think. The amnor house section of it is of Spanish arcitecture, very beautiful, and it is along the guadalupe river. I could go on and on and on about it, but there's no time! So I just posted a link above to its website. If you go to a church and needs a good camp to go to, consider Mo-Ranch, it's well worth the drive and the money, an amazing expirience.
Now, to conclued the entry, in 9 days I am going to this Mexican Resort called Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific. Its going to be so much fun! With tours of the surrounding nature, parasailing, horseback riding along the beach, snorkling, scuba diving, and all the works! I'm soo exited! Its a family reunion on my dad's side, but, sadly, one family isn't coming. They are missionaries in Malawi, Africa right now...Good luck cousins!
Now, thats pretty much my whole summer in a nutshell.
I found a soung that is my new favorate. Its a ocuntry song, to exuse me all those hard rock and metal lovers, at least appreciate the other genres...
Here's the song:
Boondocks-Little Big Town
(Chorus smile I feel no shame I'm proud of where I came from I was born and raised in the boondocks One thing I know No matter where I go I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
And I can feel That muddy water running through my veins And I can hear that lullaby of a midnight train It sings to me and it sounds familiar
(Chorus)
And I can taste That honeysuckle and it's still so sweet When it grows wild On the banks down at old camp creek Yeah, and it calls to me like a warm wind blowing
(Chorus)
It's where I learned about living It's where I learned about love It's where I learned about working hard And having a little was just enough
It's where I learned about Jesus And knowing where I stand You can take it or leave it, this is me This is who I am
Give me a tin roof A front porch and a gravel road And that's home to me It feels like home to me
(Chorus)
I keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
You get a line, I'll get a pole We'll go fishing in the crawfish hole Five-card poker on a Saturday night Church on Sunday morning
(2x) You get a line, I'll get a pole We'll go fishing in the crawfish hole (Down in the boondocks) Five-card poker on a Saturday night Church on Sunday morning
Say a little prayer for me
