Affinity
It was about Twilight when I saw the enemy cross building to building. Thinking out loud how my brother and I would catch the fellow, it was only a matter of time before the next victim, it was 10p.m. and about an hour sharp, the enemy will have it's prey on humans, that's if my brother and I kill it beforehand.
My brother Carlisle jumped in front of me and swung his dagger behind my back, I quickly duck and spun, kicking the enemy with my feet. "Mallory!" he called at me.
I sprung out my pistol from my trench coat's pocket, shooting a couple times as trying to strike it's heart, however, we couldn't get a good glimpse of what the identity of the enemy was, it was dark now, and I couldn't see the area around me.
I became only a bit frightened, breathing heavily. Carlisle stood at my side as we both new it wasn't wise to be alone at this time, it was a bit chilly, the gibbous moon shone in the dark sky, filled with dark clouds, black crows flew by outrageously, not a sound was heard.
Carlisle and I began hearing tapping noises and my brother turned his back to mine, the both of us had our pistols in both hands, aiming and ready to pull the trigger.
Carlisle whispered to himself and I couldn't well make out the words except 1...2...3.., I lifted my index finger up to the shades I wore over my eyes, clicking the button on the right side, a small X-ray visioned telescope developed in my shades and I was able to looked about in the dark.
"Agh! Carlisle, beneath us!" I found, we jumped back as our enemy dug out from underground.
The creature stood 7 feet tall, it had the skin of a reptile, and of course, no hair.
"Mallory, stay guard and out of the way, when I say shoot, you aim your gun and shoot!" Carlisle ordered out, I nodded my head in agreement.
The tail of the creature was incredibly long, about 34.5 inches wide, I blinked twice before taking multiple steps back. I took my shades off, folded them and placed them safely in the pocket of my trench coat.
Carlisle on the other hand, kept his aim and waited for a perfect shoot, however, this creature was quick and traveled, circling around us tremendously, starring at us, it was to the point we were back to back once again.
I shot at the creature and I felt my brother yell, "Mallory, you idiot!" he yelled angrily, the creature had began to go crazy, swinging it's tail at me, unfortunately, Carlisle pushed me aside, and instead of my injury, Carlisle was injured terribly by the tail's hit and the creature was finally killed after my multiple shots, turning to ashes.
"Carlisle!" I cried out, as it was the last thing I have said.
