Rui was sitting on the couch with Lin, holding hands. It was around nine, and they told their parents they were having a "sleep over". Luckily, for both of them, it was a friday, and Rui's parents hadn't seen Lin's face at all, so what did they know if it was him or not?
They were almost watching Adult Swim, but Rui wasn't. He was just thinking of how he could slip Lin past his sister. She probuably saw his face, and the blue hair, so she would recognize him. They just needed to be in bed by three, and they could avoid them all, and just go outside tomarrow.
"Hey, Lin." Rui started, trying to wake Lin next to him.
Lin mumbled, and moved a little, but didn't wake up.
Rui smiled kindly, and tried to put him on his back. He lifted Lin from the couch like a parent putting their child to bed. Lin stayed quiet on Rui's back, as Rui started to walk down the hall to the stairs. Rui looked at them for a moment, knowing he would make it all the way up. He started to take the steps, balancing both of their weight. Step after step, he finaly made it up the stairs.
They were there, and Rui took Lin to his room. When he set Lin down in the bed, Lin huddled up in a ball almost. It felt so inviting to Rui, but he knew he had to go turn off the TV. He couldn't stand when anybody left the TV on while no one was watching it. On his way down, he noticed his mom's car pull into the driveway. Great.
He continued down the stairs, and down the hall to the living room. When he got there, he heard the front door open, and his mother step inside. He grabbed the clicker, and pressed the 'off' button, then put it back down. When he went back to the other living room by the door and stairs, his mother stood in front of him.
"Hello dear. I got off of work early to talk to you." She announced.
Rui rolled his eyes, and put his hands in his pockets. "I don't care much to talk to you. I want to go to bed."
"Honey, sit down, okay? I'll be short and breif." His mother explained.
Rui looked back, and sat on the couch. His mother followed.
"Dear, I don't mind that you like a guy really. I just think that you should hold back from calling it 'love', okay?" Mother explained.
Rui didn't want to talk to her, he just wanted to get back to Lin upstairs, in his room. "Yha, sure, whatever."
"Ruin, I don't think you are listening to me." She said.
"Mom, I'm tired. I can't listen if I wanted to." Rui got up, and started to walk back to the stairs.
"I love you, and don't want you to get hurt. I'll protect you if you want." She muttered.
He ignored her, and continued walking back up the stairs. When he got to his room, he saw Lin, sitting up on the edge of the bed.
"Hey sleepy head." Rui smiled, as he turned on the lights to his room, and closed and locked the door.
"Sleepy...?" Lin asked tiredly.
Rui walked up to him at the edge of the bed, and noticed his eyes were closed, and he might have been sleep walking. He sat on the bed next to Lin, and tried to pull him down to the bed, but Lin hopped into Rui's lap, and rested his head against his chest.
Rui remembered how he read an article in a science magazine that said if you try to tell a sleep walker to go back to sleep, they might become violent. The last thing Rui needed was for Lin to punch him.
"Lin, it's time for you to-" Rui tried to finish.
Lin kissed Rui for a moment, but then slumped into his arms. Rui smiled, and carried him to lay on the bed. Rui walked over to the door, and hit the lights, causeing only the moonilight from the window to shine on Rui's bed. He walked over to the other side, and laid down into the bed, and held Lin's hands.
"I love you, and don't want you to get hurt. I'll protect you." He muttered.
