Rui opened his eyes, and the small beating of the rain hitting the window played. He saw Lin, holding Rui's hands under his blanket. They hadn't even gotten their pants off before they fell asleep. He let out a small laugh, but got up.
He sat on the edge of his bed, looking at the white wall for a moment, but then stood. When he went to his door, he looked back to see the time. It was only five. They were sleeping for about two hours, give or take. When Rui looked back to the hall, and heard nothing at all. He walked out, and down the stairs, and onto the couch in the living room. He turned on the television, and sat back. What he felt about his sister was gone, because he knew. He knew she would be back. He knew he had to prove that he had actualy found such a thing called love. He couldn't let his sister lose hope.
The TV screen lit up, and a woman showed, for a comertial. Rui didn't care much for those kind of comertials at all. All they did was complain and complain about getting old, when they shouldn't care. Their time has come and gone, and they should just leave the times to the younger ones. Nowadays, the ones who were the youngest were the smartest.
Rui hoped that he would grow older sooner. So many things happened when you got older. You could drive, you could own a home, you could get married, you could get a good job, you could meet a whole lot of new people. He just couldn't see why anyone wouldn't want to get older. It sounded so... much better.
How would he look when he was older though? What would Lin look like? Would they still look like kids? Would they get married? Would they stay together?
He looked down, and saw his fingers fumbling with themselves. He tried to get a grip on them, and did. They stopped. He hated when they did that. Most of the time, he hadn't noticed it at all.
"Whatcha watching, Rui?" Lin asked.
Rui saw Lin walk up to him, wearing his blanket around his body. Lin sat near Rui, leaning his body on Rui's. He opened the blanket, and covered Rui with it as well.
"You must be cold." Lin muttered, starting to watch the screen.
Rui did start to feel cold, but the blanket was so warm, it chased the thought away. Lin's body was warm as well. When Rui looked down, Lin's eyes were closed, and he looked like he was sleeping.
Rui didn't want to wake him up. Lin looked so peaceful sleeping. Like a little cat or something. Rui put his arm around Lin, and Lin snuggled into it.
"Things like this happen for a reason, right? I have a feeling, no, I know, that you will help by being what ever you want when you grow." Rui told him.
