Upwards I reach to touch the sky,
My limbs ever straining,
And you laugh and say,
"You'll never reach the sky."
Upwards I reach to touch the clouds,
My arms ever straining,
And you chuckle and say,
"You'll never reach the clouds."
Upwards I reach, to touch the sun,
My hands ever straining,
And you scoff and say,
"You'll never reach the sun."
Upwards I reach to touch the moon,
My fingertips ever straining,
And you scoff and say,
"You'll never reach the moon.
And upwards I reach to touch my dreams,
My hopes ever straining,
And you smirk and say,
"You'll never reach your dreams."
Now, upwards I reach to touch the sky,
I reach and... soar heavenwards,
And I turn to you and say,
"I reached the sky."
